"I've enchanted it to endure a little longer than it should," Ominis murmured, his sad eyes clouding with tears as he handed her a solitary Egret orchid. She chuckled softly, taking his trembling hands in hers.

"Flowers aren't meant to endure, Oms. They exist only to anchor us in the present. They rise, they bloom, they paint our world with fleeting beauty, and then they're gone. Just like us," she spoke with a soft smile, tucking the orchid into the pocket nearest her heart.

“Please, don't forget me... I'll be waiting for you,” Ominis murmured, his voice barely a breath.

“How could I ever forget? I'm carrying you with me,” she replied, guiding his hand to her heart, his fingers brushing the fabric, sensing the delicate orchid nestled beneath.
