thinking about how Fitz and Beloved's first evening together in 15 years was spent sitting and talking and laughing in front of a hermit's fireplace and how their last one together for over 2 decades was spent sitting and talking and weeping together in front of another one
Something I find really interesting about RotE, in Assassin's Apprentice, you could read the whole book thinking that the only people Fitz killed when he was younger was Forged ones, which the book really wants you to consider Not People. And then, in Assassin's Fate, you learn that actually he had had a hand in killing many people for Chade, for a very long time. Really goes to show how much of an unreliable narrator he is, he didn't want to reconcile with the fact that he was a true assassin at such a young age, that it isn't till he's an old man that he does admit that, yes, he killed for the crown from a very young age, and that is part of the reasons that he doesn't consider himself to be lovable

"Beloved Fitz and Nighteyes abandoned Bee when they went into the stone wolf-" no actually stone wolf is the best dad ever. Bee's dads didn't leave her they just all merged into one bigger slightly more functional dad. Stone wolf went with Bee and everyone else to the mountain kingdom where they all live happily forever and ever. Stone wolf dad gives Bee rides on his back and goes hunting for her so she's never hungry and cuddles her at night when she has nightmares. They are the most wonderful attentive dad ever and Bee is never neglected ever again.
Unless the eventual Bee book disproves this (god I hope not) then this is canon and no one can argue with me.
Do you ever think about how Beloved made the whole white prophet gig waay harder than it needed to be?
White Prophet A: lives in a house, helping people and giving advice until they form a new society around her
White Prophet B: yells at a child about her fruit-eating habits until her stealthy fruit missions accidentally restore a grove during a famine
Beloved: sees a stubborn mf who almost dies every other week and decides "yeah, I'm keeping that bitch alive (barely) until I manage to resurrect this magical, extinct species the world's forgotten about, WHILE thwarting an institution of clairvoyant autocrats"
