Dive Deep into Creativity: Discover, Share, Inspire
A WIP I’m doing. Ship in a bottle. I hope to animate it at some point, but I’m really busy currently, and the rotations I’m doing with the ship are currently a bit off.
The next time I’ll be free to really do anything is probably around christmas to be honest.
space outlaw's need a break sometimes, too
A WIP I really should finish! It’s not clear in the sketch but the cat is gonna be looking out the porthole of a spaceship.
Inspired by treasure planet, drew a flying ship searching for... Adventure? Life? Treasure?
My new and improved sketch for my starship.
Given everything i've learned, i've decided to redo the design a bit. I'm rather content with this new iteration.
A sketch of the star system where my story takes place.
I tried to keep it as realistic as possible.
Is did however take some artistic librities to make the story blend better with the world.
Story:
'Proxima Centauri d' has not been colonised.
'Proxima Centauri b' has been colonised and renamed to 'Beacon'. It has a slightly higher gravity than earth and is gravitionaly locked by one side to the star. Regulary blasted by radiation. This was humanitys first interstellar colony. And their eventual refugue after the Exodus.
The astroid belt contains dozens of stations for construction, Ming, transport and more.
'Proxima Centauri c' is a mini Neptune with a ring. Because of it's large size, it's useful for antimatter production. In orbit around it is a spaceport for interstellar travel.
inconsistencies:
Since we can't detect things so small as astroid that means that we don't know it there is a astroid belt in the Proxima Centauri system. But i decided to add one anyway.
It is disputed if the planet 'proxima Centauri c' even exist and where it is. It is also theorized to have a ring. I decided to add it too.
Please notify me if you've Found any other inconsistentcies.
Some designs for a spacecraft in a story I'm working on.
I'm no concept artist, but here are some basic sketches.
I've tried to make them as realistic as possible.
Any advice is appreciated!
A guestion about realistic interstellar travel
Sorry about my English it's not my first language.
I'm not sure how i should tag this but here we go.
I'm working on my own little hard scifi project and i need some help with figuring out the science.
So i have a ship that travels the distance of 10.26 lightyears at 80% the speed of light.
I think it would take about 12 years to complete this journey. (For a outside observer)
And off course the ship would also need to first accelerate and deaccelerate from that Velocity. That would take about 7 months each. (Constant acceleration of 1.5G during those months)
So in Total these 12 years plus the 1.4 years makes the journey 13.4 years long. But this is only to An outside observer.
I al aware of the effect of time dilation and i also want it to have a prominent role in my story. So my guestion is how much time Will the crew onboard the ship have subjectivly experienced?
Is some of the math i did right? Am i missing something? And does Antoine know how to explain the solution of this in laymans terms becaude i've tried looking it up and i still don't really understand it.
Thanks

Just a 'lil illu' of my superhero character, Lifeform ! Because, you know, spaaaaaace !!
A concept painting of the Blue Paranoia. It's a small transport ship owned by Zukel, an OC of mine. It has retractable solar sails and a net to collect space debris.
Cover artwork I created for Issue #27 of Frontier Explorer, a free zine for the Star Frontiers rpg. This was an homage to Larry Elmore's original box art for the rpg, this time using the setting's main baddies - the Sathar - as the subject.
This was also an earlyish attempt at a large digital painting. For me, it kinda works in places and generally was good practice.
Another 'weird' spaceship design.
Space Whales being bugged by Space Dolphins in their pursuit ships.
A survey ship navigates it's way through asteroids as it skirts the edge of a nascent solar system.
Going for a Ralph McQuarrie/Chris Foss/Chris Moore/Peter Elson vibe.
Cover art for an RPG adventure I was writing for the White Star scifi RPG, but will probably convert to the Mothership rpg instead. General vibe was channeling 70s scifi book covers by Chris Foss, Peter Elson, etc.
Another weird ship. Incidentally, this image also works if you flip it vertically.
Some spaceship designs. I like weird ships and I cannot lie...
it can also fold up its solar panels if it is in combat. The Captain of the USS White River is Gavin Brooks Stone.
I don’t know any Birrin groups before the fall so I just made it be made by the reclamation, and i imagine the reclamation just reverse engineered from pre fall kill-sat designs. I think it would be like the Odin project from COD Ghosts where it has multiple projectiles in one large projectile. This design is 100% fictional, by the way I just thought it would be cool to make a Birrin military ship. Also the Birrin project belongs to @alexriesart
It is called the midnight of super earth. :)
I have made a fictional halo unsc frigate out of legos called “Last Call”. Also the crew of the ship often call it big bass due to its goofy fish proportions. I’m not a super big halo fan but I think halo is really cool and I wanted to make something about it. :)
ADHD moment, wanted to warm up before really leaning into a piece for a client and, uh, two days later I got this! I am a little less angry with myself than usual on account of REALLY liking how this one came out!
Happy Cosmonautics day!
