For once, Allie was grateful to be babysitting Erica Sinclair.
It was the hottest day of the year and the air conditioning of Starcourt Mall was a welcome alternative to being boiled alive in the June sun. She was trying to cool off in the food court, reading a new book she just picked from the store on the second floor when Erica slammed her bags on the table. The motion made her jump as Allie looked up at the little girl with a stern expression.
"What is it now, Erica?" Allie groaned. All she wanted was a little break from the youngest Sinclair and her posse of minions.
"I want ice cream."
"No one is stopping you, Sinclair. Go for it." Allie said, jerking her head at the nautical themed ice cream shop across the way.
"I can't," Erica said slowly, as if Allie wasn't understanding. "The girl who works there said I can't have any more samples. But you can."
The mischievous smirk on Erica's face sent a little trickle of worry down Allie's spine. She'd never admit that sometimes she was terrified of a ten year old.
Looking back up at the ice cream shop, Allie bit her lip before closing her book. Sacrificing her alone time in favor of ice cream didn’t sound like that bad of an idea.
“Fine. Come along, gremlins” she grinned at the face Erica pulled at her comment, stashed the book in her bag and made her way across the food court to Scoops Ahoy.
The ice cream parlor was packed, every table full of kids and teens in search for the perfect cool down during summer break. Her mouth was watering just dreaming of the ice cream sundae she was going to order, once Erica and her friends had their own, of course. If there was one thing the mall didn’t need more of, it was a hangry bunch of pre-teens.
As she approached the counter, she could see Robin speaking animatedly with her coworker. She always looked very passionate when she talked but she looked like a conspiracy theorist pointing at her whiteboard this time. Suddenly, her coworker took off his little sailor’s hat and her breath caught in her throat. That hair.
Of course it was Steve Harrington behind the counter. Today of all days, when her long curly hair was tucked up in a messy bun and she felt ragged from dealing with Erica and her antics all day. Allie knew him from around the hallways at Hawkins High, and always had a bit of a crush on him. She took a deep breath, and swiped the baby hairs away from the sticky sweat of her forehead as she stepped forward to the counter.
“Ahoy there! Would you like to set sail on an ocean of flavour with me? I’ll be your captain, Steve Harrington. What can I start you with?” He leaned forward on the counter, and smirked at Allie, his amber eyes twinkling in the lights.
Allie could feel the words as they tumbled out of her mouth, “ice cream.”
She groaned and scrunched her nose up, embarrassed that she had blurted out the most prominent words she could think of. His tongue flicked over his bottom lip and his small smirk turned into a full-blown cheeky smile. She could see his lips moving but every ounce of her focus was poured into the two soft freckles on his neck.
“Allie?” Erica flicked her arm bringing her back to reality. Visibly confused she looked to Erica who had an eyebrow raised in annoyance. “Farrah Fawcett’s secret child just asked you a question, were you even listening, or were you daydreaming about your little book boyfriend again?”
Steve leaned on the counter, elbow propped up by the register.
"Book boyfriend, huh? Well, how about a real life boyfriend? Got one of those you might be thinking of?"
Allie wanted to dissolve into the floor as he smiled, the flush rising in her cheeks. She could see Robin over his shoulder rolling her eyes. Erica elbowed her, shoving her way to the front before Allie could answer.
"Give us the goods, sailor boy. I don't have all day," she sassed.
“Sorry but you already had enough samples, Sinclair. Now, let the adults talk.” he said, not taking his eyes off the beautiful girl in front of him, who was blushing at Erica’s mention of her book boyfriend.
“So, that book boyfriend of yours. What’s better about a book boyfriend than a real boyfriend?” he asked.
Allie’s gaze fell to her hands. She needed to look away from his eyes for a second because they were just too much. She picked at the polish on her nails, thinking of a way to murder a child and not go to jail. Never had she felt so embarrassed in her life. But she needed to come up with an answer soon before Erica said something worse, if that was even possible.
She huffed out a breath and met Steve’s eyes again, “Well, I guess that um, they won’t disappoint you like most real-life guys do.”
Steve stuck out his bottom lip and nodded once, raising an eyebrow at her, “Can’t say you're wrong there” He winked, standing up straight and twirling the ice cream scoop in his hand.
God, this man was more charismatic than she remembered. Just the movement of his hand in that motion made her head go all fuzzy. Erica may have started with the embarrassing comments, but Allie knew she was definitely not doing herself any favors here either. She had to change the subject and fast.
“Cotton candy” She spit out, crossing her arms over her chest and shaking her head a little, trying to get her attention away from the spinning of his hand. “Could I try the cotton candy ice cream… please?” Allie asked properly, shooting him a smile.
“Excellent choice,” he laughed, grabbing her a small bowl. He extended it across the counter but didn’t let go as her hand brushed his, “gotta be careful with this one. Too much of it will turn your tongue pink.”
“I guess I’ll have to try something different next time,” she pulled the bowl from his hand and she could feel the heat rising up her neck.
“Ahem,” Erica cleared her throat.
“She’ll get a banana split,” Allie smiled as she pressed the tiny sample spoon to her tongue and let the ice cream melt from the heat.
Steve nodded, brushing a piece of his golden brown hair behind his ear as he got to putting together her sundae. Once he had finished he slid it across the counter to her without taking his eyes off Allie who was digging in her purse for change.
“Pretty girls get one free banana split,” he laughed and Robin audibly groaned from the back room loud enough for Allie and Steve to hear her. “Unfortunately, you also only get one sample so you’ll just have to come back tomorrow to try another flavor.”
"How many flavors are there exactly?" Allie laughed, dropping her sample spoon in the small trash can by his side.
Steve's eyebrows furrowed as he counted silently. He sighed before putting his hands on his hips.
"Thirty five, so if you wanna try each one by the end of the summer, you might wanna start tomorrow," he said with a shrug.
"Will you be here? I mean, I might need some help."
Steve's eyes lit up as a "no way" came from the open kitchen window.
"Yeah, I, uh, will be here," he stammered out with a broad grin.
After all the times he “sucked“ - at least that’s the way Robin always put it - he didn’t expect this to be the outcome.
“Great,“ she smiled, “I guess I’ll see you tomorrow then.“
She was about to leave, the little gremlins already ahead of her, as Steve’s voice made her stop in her movements.
“Allie!“
She turned around, facing him again, but he remained still, as she waited for him to continue.
He hesitated as if he wasn’t sure what exactly to say, or ask even.
“See you tomorrow.“ he said with a soft smile on his lips.
Allie bit her lip and let out a soft laugh. Steve Harrington, flustered. Because of her. That was definitely a sight to behold.
“See you tomorrow, Harrington.”
As she walked out of the shop, she smiled to herself and thought about what the following days would bring. It might turn out to be a good summer after all. She shook herself out of her daydream after Erica cleared her throat. Head tilted and brows raised at her babysitter.
“That was nasty. Even with the free banana split.”
“Just eat your ice cream, Sinclair.” Allie rolled her eyes in annoyance.
The following day, Allie brought Erica to meet her friends at Starcourt once more, all of them taking off towards the arcade as soon as they got there, but not before Erica paused and placed her hands on her hips.
“Lemme guess, I can find you at the ice cream shop when we’re done?”
“I will be in the food court. Go have fun” Allie said through gritted teeth, causing the little girl to roll her eyes before taking off to find her friends.
Once the kids were out of sight, she made her way casually into the ice cream shop, twisting a dark curl around her finger as she pretended to read the menu on the wall. Alle glanced over at the counter just in time to see Robin walk into the back room.
“Hey dingus, this ones for you..” She heard, causing an involuntary smile to form on her lips.
Allie’s chest tightened as she heard the metal hinges swing open from the back door. Steve slid out, cleaning his lips with the back of his hand as he made his way to the counter. “Hi,” she said quietly, her voice suddenly so small in his presence.
Robin disappeared into the back as he leaned over the counter to come eye level with her as he finished chewing whatever he had been snacking on.
“How's the tongue?” He asked and Allie flushed red instantly, why did he want to know that she panicked silently. “Shit, the cotton candy ice cream… turns your tongue pink… it was dumb.” He ran his hand hair nervously and shook his head in shame.
She chuckled, shaking her head at him. Her curls hadn’t cooperated that morning, frankly, they hadn’t been doing so all week with the heat wave but she had dared leave them down and now they were sticking to her sweaty neck. Banishing her nerves the best she could she playfully stuck her tongue out, “ready for more flavor tasting.”
“What will it be today?” He laughed, his big doe eyes flickered to her lips quickly before he shifted to the ice cream case.
Allie hummed as she tapped her chin playfully. “Let’s do mint chocolate chip today, captain.” she said with a wink.
Steve’s tongue darted out across his bottom lip as he shook his head and tried to hold back a smile. Allie watched him as he grabbed the cup and scooped up a sample of the ice cream she had chosen. He wasn’t wearing his sailor cap today either. The wild wisps of brown hair that framed his face catching in the fluorescent lights of the shop as he moved. He placed the cup on the counter and handed her the spoon. Fingers lingering on top of each other once again caused Allie’s stomach to flood with butterflies.
“Gave you a little extra today, our little secret.”
Allie made a mock locking motion at her lips with her free hand as he smiled at her.
“Wait, aren’t you gonna try?”
He stammered at her question, “I don’t-“
“Well I said let’s didn’t I?”
“Robin, can you man the counter I’m taking my 15.” Steve yelled back as he fumbled around the counter for an extra spoon before he followed Allie back to a table.
Allie let out a genuine laugh as Steve caught up with her, smirking over at him as she watched him push his hand through his hair. It was nice to see him flustered for once because of her, instead of the other way around.
“Ok, what do you prefer, cotton candy or mint chocolate chip? Be honest” She asked, taking a seat at a vacant table and putting the bowl of ice cream in the middle.
Steve thought for a moment as he sat across from her, tapping the spoon on his plump lips, “See that depends on the day. Sometimes I need something sweet like cotton candy, but other times.. You just need that classic tang of the mint, you know? It’s sweet but has that secret side to it that keeps it exciting..” He smirked, taking a scoop of the ice cream and holding it out. “Plus, I like the green of this one… it matches your eyes”
Allie’s whole body warmed under his stare as she pulled the spoon from her lips. She secretly loved mint chocolate chip and now she’d never eat it again without thinking about Steve Harrington noticing the color of her eyes.
“So is mint chocolate chip your favorite?” She asked knowing the implications of her question.
He swallowed hard, his throat bobbing against the silly collar of his sailor's uniform as he composed himself to answer her. “It is today, yesterday it was cotton candy,” his soft lips curled into a smile as he watched her turn red.
“How do you do that?” Allie asked him, watching his eyes flicker across her features in confusion. “One minute you’re a flustered mess and then you open your mouth and you say something cute as if you planned it.”
Steve laughed nervously, opening his mouth to say something but his cheeks flushed red and he pressed another scoop of ice cream to his tongue. Allie followed suit, distracted by the way his lips pressed together as he enjoyed the sweet treat with her.
“If I tell you all my secrets you’ll just take them into the mall and use them on other boys,” he shrugged with a smile forming on his face.
“Or maybe I’ll use them on you and that's what you’re really afraid of,” she laughed and he scoffed with a soft shake of his head.
Steve’s break flew by and Allie retreated to the food court with the promise of tomorrow and the next 33 flavors.
As the days turned to weeks the two continued to get comfortable around the other. Eye contact was held for longer, conversations flowed more naturally and lingering hands found each other from across the table.
The third week sailed in and Allie made her way back into Scoops Ahoy, with a big smile and a little extra weight in her bag. Butterflies had never left her stomach the whole time but she hadn’t felt this nervous in a while. And when Steve’s eyes lit up watching from the back room window, she knew she was smitten.
He gave her a small wave and his cheeky smile that made her fall head over heels for the man even more. She waved back with a sweet smile, oh if only he knew what he was doing to her. It felt like her heart could burst out of her chest from how fast it was beating. So when he walked out from the back room, she needed to take a couple of deep breaths to steady herself.
He stopped on the other side of the counter and placed his hands on top. His golden brown hair was messy but neatly tucked behind his ears. A couple of strands managed to find a way to fall forward.
She needed to bite the inside of her cheek in an attempt to not lean forward and fix it. To touch him.
“I like that.” His eyes lingered over her face for a bit before stopping on her eyes.
She chuckled nervously, his gaze felt so much more intense than before. “Like what?”
“Your smile, it’s nice to look at …” He grabbed a scoop from the counter and twirled it around in his hand before saluting with it. “What flavor for the lady today?”
A blush crept up Allie’s cheeks and she bit her bottom lip to stop the smile from growing any bigger. Every time this man spoke to her, she felt all tingly inside. But there was no way she was going to let him see that side of her. Not yet.
“Actually, I have something for you first” She grinned proudly, reaching into her bag and pulling out a book, sliding it across the counter towards him. “This was the book I was reading the first day I came in here, and I thought you might like it. The main character is so sweet. I thought she might make a good book girlfriend for you”
Steve let out a laugh and took the book, turning it over in his hands as he examined the cover, “Book girlfriend huh? I think I could give that a shot” He smirked, before turning and putting the book on the back counter. “So got a flavor in mind for today?”
“What number are we on?” She asked, looking over at the display case.
“Hm, 13 I think”
“You pick, then. Lucky number 13 has to be a Steve Harrington pick”
Taking a moment to look over the flavor list, a wide smile appeared on his face, “I have the perfect one..” He spoke confidently, as he scooped the ice cream. “Rocky Road. A crowd favorite. And a personal one”
"Oh wow, a personal one? Why wasn't it the first suggestion then?" she teased, watching him scoop out way more ice cream than a normal sample size.
Steve walked around, coming through the door built into the counter to hand her the cup.
"Can I tell you something?" he asked, leaning in closer to her than he ever has been.
Allie felt her breath shorten as she nodded, the sweet smell of waffle cones and whatever he used in his hair that morning filling her head. She could count more of the freckles on his cheeks and noticed how the tips of his eyelashes are a golden brown, just like his hair.
"I kinda like to hog it all to myself. Devious, I know, but it's just too good," Steve whispers as Allie giggles at his expression, taking the cup of ice cream. This time his fingers trail against hers in a way that is more than obvious.
"Your secret is safe with me. Can't have you losing your job or anything," Allie murmured, looking up at him before taking a bite of ice cream.
Steve bit the corner of his bottom lip as his eyes zeroed in on her lips and lingered for a beat. She smiled as his eyes found his way back to hers after she let the spoon go with a pop.
“You got your spoon, Harrington?”
🍦🍦
Saturday arrived in the blink of an eye and like the ones before during these past few weeks, Allie made her way back to Starcourt Mall. They’d gotten into the habit of having lunch together on Saturday’s since she’d be relieved of her babysitting duties for the weekends. When she arrives at the counter, she’s met with Robin refilling the spoons.
“Hey Robin.”
“Ah, welcome oh great one” she curtsied, and Allie snorted a laugh as her eyes widened.
“What?”
“Nothing, I've just never seen Steve read a book so intently in his life. He hasn’t let it go ever since you gave it to him. Not that it’s that much of a surprise of course. I mean you guys have been spending time together every day this summer and he can’t pull his eyes away from you even if he tried.”
Robin rambled on and Allie felt like she was in a daze. Not that she thought that he wouldn’t have read it but certainly not that he’d like it so much he wouldn’t put it down. As if he was summoned, the backroom door swung open, a flushed Steve holding the door open book in hand. He ran a hand through his hair and sent her a smile that made her feel like her legs were going to give out.
“Hi.” He breathed.
Allie let out a small giggle and tucked a curl behind her ear, “Hi” She repeated, clasping her hands in front of her and returning the smile.
Steve made his way over to where she was standing and held the book out to her, “This was amazing.. I’m not a book guy, but any more recommendations, I’ll be happy to take them” He grinned.
“Book recommendations for ice cream samples? I think I can accept that” She took the book back from him and noticed a little piece of paper sticking out of it. Not thinking anything of it, she tucked it into her bag.
The two of them had their usual ice cream date, trying a rainbow sorbet this time to be different. The conversation flowed as smoothly as ever, and at one point as they were talking their hands touched on the table, but neither of them pulled away. Instead, Steve casually intertwined their fingers as they talked.
Again, his 15 minute break flew by fast and they said their goodbyes. Steve shot her a wink as he walked back into the store. “You should uh, check that book by the way..”
Allie’s brows furrowed together, as she watched him walk away. She pulled out the book, and again found the piece of paper, pulling it out and unfolding it in her hand.
“You were right, I did like this girl. But she’s not you” the note read, causing an involuntary grin to break out on her lips.
She placed a hand in front of her mouth, shaking her head while her smile just widened every time she re-read the note. She turned her head to where he stood before to see if he’d caught a glimpse of how hard she was crushing over him, by just his beautiful written words, but he was nowhere to be seen. He must’ve walked to the back room.
She smiled to herself while thinking if Steve had the same expression on his face as her, maybe he even felt nervous of the thought of what she would think about the note. Steve Harrington being nervous and flushed over a girl…maybe he even paced back and forth while thinking if his move was all too much and too forward…
Well Allie didn’t.
She turned the note and took out a pen from her bag, scribbling down the words that she hoped would have the same effect if she’d said it face to face.
Exactly what I thought about my so-called book boyfriend, until I met you.
She folded it and walked over to the desk where Robin stood while scooping up ice cream for a customer. She quickly placed the note on the counter top, clearing her throat to have her attention.
It suddenly felt really hot. More than usual. “Hi. Can you please give this to Steve when you see him again?” She asked with a soft smile.
Robin lifted a brow and looked down to the note, a smirk grew on her lips before she looked up to her. “Suuure, I’ll handle it.”
Allie watched as Robin disappeared to the back before rushing off. She bit her lip to keep from squealing, doing a little happy jump that earned her a weird look from a passing older couple as she left the mall into the sticky summer air.
Another week passed. A week full of waves and smiles across the mall as Allie ushered Erica and her friends around and another lunch date on Saturday that had her crying laughing as Steve desperately tried to avoid an interrogation by Dustin Henderson.
The next Saturday at noon, Allie excitedly hurried to the ice cream shop as the familiar hustle and bustle of the mall went on around her. When she approached the counter, she noticed something was off. Robin was the only one there, grumbling as she wiped down the counters.
"Hi Robin," she said softly, trying to hide her disappointment.
"Hey Allie. Sorry, no lover boy today. He didn't tell you?"
Emotion choked any words that could have come out as Allie shook her head. How could she be so dumb? She had never even asked for his phone number. But then again, he'd never asked for hers. Her mind started racing as she mumbled something to Robin before turning to walk away.
As she rounded the corner, Allie ran into someone, hands catching her before she was knocked to the ground. She looked up, relief rushing through her body as Steve gazed down with a smile teasing his lips.
"Sorry, had to take Henderson home. Didn't figure you'd want that little shit joining us again."
Allie laughed, smoothing the lapels of his polo shirt with a gentle hand. It was the first time all summer she'd seen him without that ridiculous sailor suit.
"I thought you'd forgotten," she said, looking up through her eyelashes.
"Forget you? That's impossible," Steve murmurs before pushing a curl behind her ear.
“O-Oh.” the blush creeped up her chest at his admission as she stammered, his fingers still tucked behind her ear.
He ran his eyes over her face. Almost like he was seeing her for the first time, taking in every single one of her features. She couldn’t help but smile as he ran his hand down her arm slowly igniting every nerve fiber in her body until he reached the tips of her fingers and gave her a soft squeeze.
“You hungry?”
“Starving, actually.”
“Well, we can’t have that. Let’s go get you fed.” he chuckled as he laced his fingers in hers and they began walking back towards the food court.
Allie smiled at him, and gave his hand a little squeeze, his thumb gently running over her knuckles as they walked. Ok, so maybe carting around Erica Sinclair and her friends to the mall all summer hadn’t been so bad.
When they got to the food court, Steve outstretched his free arm and gestured widely, “The choice is yours. Anything you want”
A giggle escaped her lips, as she dramatically thought and looked around, “I think I’m feeling a burger today”
“As you wish, m’lady” He winked at her, making their way over to Burger King.
They got their food, and found themselves a fairly secluded table where it could just be the two of them. As they ate, their conversation moved along from Allie telling Steve about Erica’s new antics from the week, and Steve explaining Robin’s whiteboard to her from when they first met. There were little touches, and nudges, and so many laughs Allie swore she was going to combust. Everything always felt so easy and natural with Steve.
Steve reached forward, and brushed her curls off her shoulder, his fingertips brushing lightly along the crook of her neck.
“Hey, what are you thinking about? You’ve been staring at me for a whole minute” He quipped.
She stared at him for a moment longer, trying to figure out exactly what she wanted to say. Unsure how he would take her next words, “do you want me to be honest?”
“Always,” he smiled, his fingers lingered on her skin and he grabbed her hand gently in his. “You’re making me nervous,” he laughed and the food court lights made his eyes glimmer.
“I was just thinking of all the ways I could screw this up,” she admitted. “I’m not in your league and there are so many other girls—“
Her words were cut off by Steve’s lips brushing her knuckles, he peered up at her through his thick lashes. “I took you to Burger King, do you think I would just buy anyone a cheese burger?”
“It’s not that—“ she sighed.
“I know what it is, Allie,” he got serious for a moment. His brows pinching together and his tongue pushing against the inside of his bottom lip. “It may not seem like it but I think about how I don’t deserve you every time you walk through the doors of Scoops. I want to be here with you, I’d beg for a chance every day if you had turned me down.”
She stared down at his hand that still held hers. He rubbed the back of her hand with a thumb and she placed her free hand on top of it, stopping his movement. She took a deep breath, she couldn’t look up to meet his eyes from the words she was about to say. The thought wasn’t new. Every time she left the ice cream shop she’d thought about it, scared for that day to come.
“So you’re not going to ditch me because I’m not like the other girls you've dated?” Her voice slightly broke at the end.
Steve sighed. He pulled back his hand and placed two fingers under her chin so he could lift up her head, whispering softly.
“And what are the other girls like to you?”
She huffed and looked to the ceiling while shaking her head. How stupid could she be? Steve had literally mentioned it in the note with his beautiful words.. but that could also be just something he says to every girl he meets, the safe card to play.
Two warm hands cupped her face and once again was she met by those warm and kind eyes she could get lost in for hours.
He lifted a brow and smiled softly in an attempt to make her keep going.
“They’re…pretty. Like really pretty.” She whispered.
He leaned in closer, eyes never leaving hers. Her mouth started to feel dry and face hot from how close they were. “But not nearly as pretty as you, Allie. You’re just getting prettier each day. I’m not going to be a fool and let go of this stunning woman, believe me. You're stuck with me.“ He chuckled slightly as he rubbed her cheeks with his thumbs.
Allie leaned into his one hand and closed her eyes, relishing in his soft skin. His words washed over her like waves. She wanted to fully believe him, but that doubt would always be in the back of her mind, just a little bit.
“Well, I consider myself very lucky to be the one sitting here with you tonight” She whispered, finally looking up to meet his amber eyes, and shooting him a small smile.
His eyes raked over her features, and he started to lean in, both of them inching closer to each other, the tips of their noses just brushing as Steve’s tongue ran across his bottom lip.
“Hey Steve!” Robin rounded the corner, and crossed her arms over her chest. “I know you’re off today, but the till is off by a couple dollars and I don’t know what happened, and now I’m freaking out because what if someone short changed me and I didn’t realize…”
“Robin! I’ll … Be right there…” Steve let out a sigh, dropping a hand from Allie’s face, but keeping his eyes on her. “I’m so sorry, if it was anyone else I would tell them to solve it themselves, but when she gets frustrated, it’s just.. It’s better if I’m there to help her..”
Allie sucked in a breath and smiled, “It’s okay, I understand.. I uh, should get home anyway. I have to be at the Sinclair’s early in the morning” She leaned forward and pressed her lips to his cheek. “Thank you for today Steve.. And every day this summer. I’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?”
Steve nodded, looking slightly flustered and disappointed but she let him go. He was too kind, his heart too big and it was in his nature to help the people he loved at the sacrifice of his own well being.
The next week blew by, she continued to stop by to get ice cream but Steve seemed distracted more and more. Tempted to ask him what’s wrong, Allie took Erica home early that Friday and returned before the parlor closed. Steve was cleaning the counter as Robin stuffed her uniform into her bag.
“Hey this is a surprise,” he looked up, happy to see her. His hair was fluffy and his eyes were tired but bright when he caught the sight of her.
“Can we talk maybe?” She asked quietly.
“I have to drive Buckley home, can it maybe wait until tomorrow?” He looked sad, but Robin appeared from the kitchen and patted him on the shoulder.
“I’ll walk,” she winked at him, “but you owe me a drivers lesson now.”
Allie whispered a small ‘thank you’ in Robin’s direction as she walked past her. Nerves settling in her stomach as she thought of what the conversation ahead could bring. She twisted the ring in her finger as Steve rounded the counter and made his way toward her. Settling his hands on her waist, he leaned in to place a kiss on her cheek.
“Hi there pretty girl” he said with a smile as his thumbs brushed reassuringly at her sides.
“Hi” she breathed, letting out a soft nervous laugh.
“You want anything? I can take some stuff back out for you.”
“No, no that’s ok. I’m good, thanks.”
“Ok,” she saw as concern flashed through his eyes, “what’s on your mind?”
“I just—“ she sighed looking around. His eyes had the power to make her so nervous she felt like she was going to explode. The mall was so quiet only the sound of metal doors sliding to the floor as everyone went home for the night.
“Not here,” he looked around and tugged on her fingers and pulled her into the back. She had never been back here before but I was bigger than she had imagined. A large freezer against the back wall along with a large table in the middle of the room and a few smaller ones that lined the perimeter.
He led her to the table and before she could protest both his hands gripped into her hips and lifted her to where she was sitting atop of it. Her eyes completely level with his and unable to avoid the contact. She sighed, she had wanted to avoid the soft sparkle in his honey brown eyes but looking at him now she had forgotten all her speech.
“You’ve been weird all week,” he said, his hands still on her hips, his fingers tapped nervously against her skin. “Was it something I did?”
Her chest rose and fell softly, a pathetic chuckle leaving her lips as she brought her hand up to rub her thumb against the freckles on his throat. He swallowed tightly under her touch, searching for answers to stifle his misguided guilt.
“I’m nervous,” she admitted, “when we talked about the girls the other day I wasn’t fully honest. You—“ she sighed.
“I have a reputation,” he shook his head and a few hairs fell out of place as he dropped his gaze to her lap. “You’re scared I’m only doing this for sex, is that how you see me?”
His fingers loosened their grip on her and started to pull away but she grabbed his hands before he could.
She leaned closer to him and slowly placed her hands on his chest, feeling his steady heartbeats. It had a soothing effect on her. She could lay her head against his chest and just listen to it for a whole day while they talked about anything.
She started to realize that this man meant the world to her.
She took a deep breath and picked the words carefully in her mind, she really didn’t wanted this to turn out the wrong way.
“Steve Harrington…” Her words made him look up again, sadness was set in his eyes and she needed to swallow the thick lump in her throat to not break in front.
“Listen, ever since I’d walked in here for the first time I’ve got a reason to get up from bed everyday, a reason to put my problems aside and just be. I feel that I can be myself around you and you see me for the one I truly am…but I remember school. People talked about you, I saw you walking down the hallway with a new girl around your arm every month. I don’t want to sound rude to you but why I’m being this honest with you is because I just don’t want to be that girl Stevie. I don’t want you to leave me, I want to stay…I feel so safe with you.”
She couldn’t hold back the tears anymore, feeling how the dam in her eyes was on the edge to spill between the cracks. Closing her eyes, she felt them streaming down her cheeks. Steve didn’t answer but she felt the warmth of his hands against her cheeks, thumbs grazing softly against her wet skin to erase the traces of her sadness.
He placed his forehead against hers, their heavy breath mixing in the air between them, lips almost touching. She stared at them as he licked his lips before he whispered.
“I know that I may have not been the best boyfriend material…but with you, fuck, you don’t know what you’ve done to me. I can’t even remember who I was before I met you. I won’t let you go Allie, I can’t let you go I promise.”
Allie sniffed and she placed her hands against his cheek with their noses touching. She looked up to him through her glossy eyes and she swore she could see tears at the corner of his eyes.
"You know," Steve whispered, his breath warm against her lips. "I really wish I wasn't wearing this stupid costume while we did this."
She laughed, running her fingers down the lapel of his outfit.
"I kinda think it's cute."
Steve stepped even closer to her, his hips fitting perfectly between her legs. Heat rushed to Allie's face as his nose once again grazed hers.
"Allie, can I kiss you?"
She nodded as he bent his head, lifting her chin so he could look her in the eye. Her eyelashes fluttered closed as Steve pressed his lips to hers. He was soft and sweet, way better than anything she'd been served over the past month. She smiled against his mouth when she felt his fingers tangle in the curls at the back of her neck. He pulled away, slightly breathless, and tried to straighten up, but she grabbed the back of his neck to stop him.
"I wasn't done yet, Harrington," Allie breathed, earning her a heartstopping grin as his hands slid around her back.
“Believe me,” he said between kisses, slightly out of breath, “the way I was thinking about you all day, dreaming about you all night,” he put his forehead against hers, “I couldn’t imagine doing something else.”
His words only made her want him more. Diving back into the kiss, this time more passionate, he felt the warmth in his body growing.
This was everything he dreamed of - to feel the affection, the love, the passion. To feel her.
In his eyes, this moment was perfect - she was perfect.
Steve’s tongue brushed her bottom lip asking for permission to further deepen the kiss. Allie let out a soft sigh letting her lips fall open. As their tongues danced together her hands caressed the hairs at the nape of his neck to pull him as close to her as she possibly could. If she could, she’d stay here forever. They smiled into the kiss as they pulled apart slightly and Steve nipped at her bottom lip.
“I really really don’t wanna stop kissing you right now but um, can I actually show you something that’s pretty cool?”
“I personally thought kissing you was pretty cool,” Allie laughed as Steve helped her slide from the table to her feet.
He looked down at her, trailing her features with his big puppy dog eyes. His soft, kiss sore lips curled up and he brushed a piece of her hair back off her face with a single finger. “We can get back to that,” he laughed, leaning forward to steal another. “After I show you this.”
He wrapped his hand around hers and tugged her through the back door of the shop and into the cold back storage hallway of the mall. “This is creepy Steve,” she raised a confused eyebrow at him causing him to laugh wildly.
The sweet sound bounced off the empty hall and made her feel all warm and comfy inside as he walked her through the hall. She watched as he scurried a head, tilting her head she watched as he pulled open another door as quietly as he possible could.
“Hey, eyes up Allie,” he motioned to his face with his hands.
“Sorry. Your butt just looks so cute in those shorts, it’s distracting,” she laughed walking to catch up with him.
"Yeah, well, prepared to be amazed by something even better than my butt. Hard to believe, I know, but you've clearly never seen...."
Steve wrenched open one of the large steel doors to a seemingly empty space, darkness filling the doorway. Allie looked confused, glancing up at Steve. He jerked forward, reaching in to flip on the lights. The room was illuminated, revealing the inside of an empty movie theater.
"Back to the Future," he said with a shrug, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Oh my god, I've been wanting to go for weeks but none of my friends will go!" Allie shrieked before running in.
She skipped up the theater steps a few rows before turning back. Steve was still standing at the doorway, watching her with a soft smile. He shook his head before joining her, guiding her to a seat before plopping down beside her.
"Hey Steve," Allie whispered.
"Yeah?" he said, leaning forward to hear her better and to just get closer to her soft skin.
"We kinda need the movie to be turned on."
"Oh shit!" Steve exclaimed, jumping up over the back of the seat to run to the top of the theater.
Allie watched on with a lovestruck grin as he hopped up into the projector room.
"I know this guy Eddie who got fired for watching movies on the clock," Steve's voice came from the dark room above. "But before he left, he may have let me know how to work this bad boy."
The screen flickered on as Steve jogged back down to Allie's seat. He ran a hand through his hair, out of breath but smiling widely.
“Impressive huh?”
“Oh yeah, I’m extremely impressed.” she said peering at Steve through her thick lashes. “Got any more tricks up your sleeve?”
His eyes widened at her question and he brought his bottom lip between his teeth.
“I um, I might have one or two.”
“Hm. So you gonna show me oooor?”
“Eyes front and prepare to be amazed.”
Allie snickered and turned herself back to face the screen. She watched him out of the corner of her eye waiting for whatever it was he was going to do. She heard him yawn and feels him put his arm around her as he scooted closer. She tilted her head at him and burst out laughing.
“Smooth, Harrington. Real smooth.”
“There’s more where that came from, pretty girl” he winked.
“You know what I think?” She smiled, stifling her nerves. She was too hot even thinking about him calling her pretty girl everyday. She’d never get sick of it, but it would always make her flustered. Something about being alone in the movie theatre turned her on, her skin felt hot and she could resist touching him.
He looked down at her but pretended to keep his cool as he watched the movie. She nuzzled her nose against his neck, tilting her face as far as she could. “I think you’re in too deep, Harrington.” She laughed, pressing a soft kiss to his throat.
She felt his fingers tense against her shoulder, and his breath rattled from his lips. A small laugh of satisfaction felt her lips and her breath on his skin was enough to make him shift in his seat. He continued to pretend that he was watching as she kissed him again, finally getting a chance to admire every, single, freckle on his neck and jaw as she went.
Inhaling sharply he finally turned to her, his eyes twinkling from the movie screen lights. He pressed a finger to her chin, tilting her head and closing the gap between their lips in the dark. “You had a good teacher,” he whispered against her mouth.
“Oh the best,” she laughed, stealing another round of hot kisses from him. “Isn’t it cliche to make out in a theatre?” She laughed as he tangled his hand into her hair.
“So cliche,” he licked at her bottom lip. “Wait,” he broke the kiss and Allie groaned, “this is a good part!”
“Steve,” she giggled, tangling her hand into the collar of his scoops ahoy uniform to tug his attention back to her. “I’ve already seen it,” she laughed.
“But,” he furrowed his brow in confused and his head tilted to the side.
“You were excited,” she kissed the corner of his pouty lip. “I’m enjoying this more anyway,” she smiled as his brows settled and his smile returned to his cherub face.
“I owe you a date, a proper one with no interruptions,” he groaned, she could hear the pang of disappointment in his voice.
“You’re the only one interrupting us,” she scrunched her nose up. “A proper date. Saturday. Steve,” she stopped and met his intense brown eyes, they softened the moment he realized he hadn’t screwed anything up. That it was all perfect. “Just kiss me some more.”
He rolled his eyes, wrapping his hand around the back of her neck. “As you wish,” he teased as he brought his lips to hers again.

It was late and Eddie had just finished cleaning up after the Hellfire Club meeting of the week. This was something he actually enjoyed doing by himself. Skimming over the notes of his players as he tidied up and seeing what their takeaways were from that week's adventure. It was probably one of his favourite parts besides actually playing the game. Getting to see how his players experienced his world.
He let out a breathy chuckle to himself, as he swung his backpack over his shoulder and headed out of the basement and up into the empty halls of Hawkins High.
He walked past the cafeteria and was only a few steps from reaching the entrance door when he heard the muffled gentle voice of someone singing along with a few weak piano chords. Stopping in his tracks, he turned around to locate where that voice could come from. He looked down the hallway and his eyes stopped at the door to the music room.
Eddie smiled to himself. He started to think that his passion for music had gotten others to find an interest.
As he made his way towards the room, the voice became clearer and he bit the corner of his lip knowing exactly who he would find on the other side of that door. When he looked through the small window, he couldn’t help but smile. There she was, beautiful Sam with her fiery red hair cascading in waves down her back, fingers dancing along the piano keys.
He took a moment to fix his already matted hair and braced himself to charm her, or at least try. No matter how many times they’ve engaged in conversation before, he still gets butterflies at the thought. Eddie watched as her fingers played across the ivory, so delicate and focused. He could watch her play for hours and never get bored. He wrapped his fingers around the handle of the door, his rings clinking against it softly as he tugged it open and made his way inside.
He closed the door softly behind him and leaned against it, crossing his arms so he could watch her a little while longer. Once she realized he was here she might stop and that was the last thing he wanted.
He recognized the song she was playing. It was Three Times A Lady by Commodores - not really his kind of music, but he thought it suited her well. She still hadn't noticed him, thinking she was all by herself as she started to sing along to the soft sounds of the piano.
Eddie hadn’t heard her sing for the first time, but his reaction was the same all the time he quietly listened to her smooth voice echoing in the room - it had a calming effect on him. He didn’t want to admit it, but sometimes after Hellfire Club meetings, he'd stay longer to listen to her.
Sam sang through the first verse and the chorus with ease, her voice flowing smoothly along with the melody. Eddie closed his eyes as she continued to play. The way Sam's music makes him feel has Eddie convinced that magic must be real. Her voice is the type that leads sailors into the sea. He realized suddenly that the music had stopped. He opened his eyes slowly, meeting Sam's clear blue eyes from the piano bench.
"Sorry," Eddie murmured before clearing his throat. "I was just leaving and heard you playing...you're really good."
Sam sighed as she switched out the book of music on the piano. "Glad you think so. My mom keeps saying I don't practice enough."
"Is she crazy?" Eddie exclaimed as he took a step forward. "You're here almost every night!"
Sam's eyes narrowed at him. He realized quickly that those were the most words Eddie's spoken to her in the few years since she moved to Hawkins. Confusion painted her pretty face, her eyebrow knit together as she watched him speak.
"I mean," Eddie mumbled, face flaring in embarrassment. "Not that I'm keeping track of you or anything."
Sam looked down and rested her fingers on the piano keys. He could only imagine how sore her fingers were from practicing into late hours for days in the music room, all alone. Something her mother insisted she do. This late after school the distractions were fewer, she could work to improve her skills in peace.
"It's fine, Eddie." She inhaled deeply. "To be honest, I wouldn't mind some company." Blue eyes met his warm, brown ones once again.
He gave her a soft smile, hands tucked inside his jeans pockets as he walked forward. "You want me to stay?"
She cleared her throat and looked down again, tucking her hair behind her ears. Her cheeks started to feel warm all of a sudden. "Sure...I mean, you're already here so…"
Eddie felt her eyes following his movement towards one of the stray chairs in the room only to have his action interrupted as she spoke again.
“Why don’t you sit on the bench with me? I-if you want to, of course, I mean there’s enough space for both of us.”
She turned back to face the piano immediately as soon as the words left her lips. He bit back a laugh at her quick reaction. Not that he’d ever laugh at her, hell he was probably as or more nervous than she was. He’s felt this way around her ever since he first saw her as she set foot through the door of the cafeteria. He couldn’t explain it even if he tried but he instantly felt drawn to her.
“I’d love that actually, thanks.” he voiced as he sat next to her, a smile tugged on his lips she turned slightly to face him.
Eddie fiddled with his rings, he hated how shy he gets around her, that’s probably the reason he avoids her when he’s with his friends. They’d never let him forget about it if they saw him all get so flustered over some girl. “so…” she trails off.
“It was really, pretty,” he pointed to the songbook. His long legs straddled the bench, his chest facing her she could read the words on his shirt. The Hellfire Club. “Could use more guitar solos though.”
She tucked her hair behind her ear and laughed. Her bright smile made his chest flutter with excitement as she watched him. “You and the club had fun tonight?” She asked softly, just trying to make him comfortable with the conversation. “I could hear your laughter even over my music.”
“They came thirteen hit points from losing a key party member tonight. It was a tough battle but they pulled it off and managed to save everyone.” Eddie rambled on, she loved when he talked about Dungeons and Dragons. It made his eyes light up and his lips curl in the corners a little extra. “You probably don’t want to hear about this nerdy stuff,” he stopped, looking down at his hands between his lap.
"I do," she said with a comforting nod towards him.
"Y-you, you do?" he looked up, frowning at her because this was the last response he'd expected from her. He really hoped she wasn't playing him.
"Yeah, I mean, I don't know how to play it, but-"
"I can show you," the words came pouring out of him before he could think about what he said. "I- I mean...if you want?" he looked into her eyes, feeling insecure about his words. He didn't want to cross a line.
"Yeah," Sam said brightly. "I'd love to! Maybe I could pay you back with some piano lessons."
"What makes you think I don't already know how to play this old thing?" Eddie asked, a fake expression of hurt on his face.
He swung his other leg over the bench to face the piano and cracked his knuckles. Sam's eyes grew wide, biting back the smile on her lips in case she was going to hurt his feelings. She wasn't sure if he was being serious or not.
"Prepare to be amazed," he said sternly.
There was an aggressively loud mangling of music as Eddie's hands slammed on the keys at random. Sam laughed out loud and covered her ears, nose scrunched up in a smile.
"What?" Eddie asked. "I can't believe you don't like it. I can take this show elsewhere..."
Eddie got up to leave, a pout on his face that makes Sam laugh harder. She grabbed his hand and pulled him back.
"No, stop! It was great! Beautiful! Groundbreaking!" She giggled as Eddie sat back down.
Her fingers tangled with his as she caught her breath from laughing so hard. Eddie's heart thumped harder at the glint of mischief in her eyes.
"You know, Munson. You'd probably make a pretty good piano player," she said, turning his palm over to trace his lifelines. "You have nice hands."
Eddie felt his breath catch in his throat as he looked down to watch her fingertips trace his palm, and over his rough patches from where he held his guitar. The piano was never an instrument that he had considered for himself. It was always vocals and guitar. Those were his specialties. This was the first time someone had made him believe that he was capable of more than just the things he knew already.
He felt a smile tug at his lips, as his hand curled around hers softly, “I guess if you believe I can, then I think you would make the perfect teacher for me” He replied, rubbing his thumb gently over the back of her hand.
Sam chuckled nervously as she bit her lips from his sweet touch. She’d bet she was as red as a tomato, his kind words didn’t make it easier to contain her overflowing emotions.
She looked down to their hands before meeting his doe eyes again, thumb still stroking her hand soothingly. “I know you can Eddie. So a D&D lesson for a piano lesson? Sounds more than good to me”
“Good, we’ve got ourselves a deal then,” he smiled as he lowered himself back down to the bench, hand still holding hers.
Once he was sat, he felt Sam’s stare on their interlaced hands and gnawed on the inside of his lip. He stopped his strokes and slowly tugged his hand back onto his lap. Although he would have preferred to leave them as they were he didn’t want to make things awkward between them.
“Sorry about that” he mumbled.
“It’s ok, I don’t mind,” Sam whispered. “Should we, um, do you wanna start today?”
“I mean… I’ll have to check the good old schedule but,” he paused, who’s he kidding? He gave up his attempt to play hard to get. “Sure. We can start today”.
“You know how to read music?” She asked, her smile infectious. He nodded his head and watched as she leaned closer to him. “C,” she played the key furthest to the left, “D,” she played the next one.
Eddie watched as her delicate hands moved across the keyboard, showing him one by one each note so he could follow along. “E,” she smiled, “for Eddie.”
“E,” he leaned in a little closer, searching her eyes as he went. “For enamored.”
She laughed, “you’re hilarious.”
“You’re pretty,” he huffed, his teeth tugging on his bottom lip as her cheeks flushed pink.
Sam watched as his eyes drifted from her lips and back up. She quickly looked back down at the keyboard.
"Um, so then there are also chords," she said quickly. "Uh, here's C Sharp or D Flat. And D Sharp or E Flat..."
"Sam," Eddie murmured. His hand brushed against hers as she pressed the different keys in rapid succession.
"And F Sharp or G Flat..."
He grabbed her hand, causing the keys to tinkle. “Sam,” he said again, she looked down at their fingers before meeting his eyes.
"Can I get a raincheck on our lesson for today? Eddie asked, once again looking down at Sam's pink lips.
"Um, okay. What else did you have in mind?" She replied softly.
His nose almost touched hers as he leaned in. Eddie brushed a strand of hair out of her face, fingertips grazing her cheek.
"Can I kiss you?" Eddie asked with a small smile.
Sam paused, and she let out a breath, her eyes scanning over his features. She leaned forward and pressed her forehead against his, brushing their noses together.
“Yes please,” she whispered, biting her bottom lip to stop a smile.
At her words, Eddie finally closed the gap between them, pressing his lips gently against hers. Her lips were soft and sweet causing butterflies to erupt in his stomach, as his hand moved around the back of her neck and rested there to deepen the kiss. It was everything he had hoped it would be and more.
He took her bottom lip in between his teeth and slowly swiped his tongue over the same spot as he let go, silently asking for permission. As Sam’s lips opened for him he felt her hand slip into his hair. He held back a groan as she dragged her nails across his scalp tugging lightly on the strands laced between her fingers.
He’s never felt anything like this before, not with any other girl anyway. He can’t get enough of her. His hands trail down to her thigh, the cold metal on his rings causing her to flinch a little, but he doesn’t even notice all he can think about is devouring the girl he’s waited so patiently to get his hands on.
Sam moaned against his grip, leaning as close as she could on the narrow bench. Eddie let his hand trail away from her neck, his fingers tracing her spine. He skated along the hem of her jeans where they met her shirt and dared to let them dance against her hot skin. Her back arched into him as he ran them against her skin, her lips curving into a bring smile against his mouth.
“That tickles,” she whispered breathlessly.
"I'll be sure to remember that for next time," Eddie replied with a grin.
His lips trailed down along her jaw as one hand gripped the soft skin of her hip. The other hand slowly came up to tangle in her hair, pulling her head back to gain access to her throat.
"Next time?" she panted, heavy lidded eyes staring at the ceiling.
The room felt like it was a million times hotter. The throbbing between her legs grew stronger as Eddie began to leave warm, wet kisses on her skin.
"I mean, I need more lessons, don't I?" he asked cheekily, nipping at Sam's neck.
"I don't know, Munson, I think you know enough already," Sam sighed.
A low chuckle left Eddie’s chest, as his tongue glided along up her throat before reattaching his lips to hers. He gently let go of her hair, and brushed his nose against hers “If you want me to stop sweetheart, just say the word…” He spoke, quietly, ghosting the back of his fingers against her cheek.
Sam’s eyes shot open, and she moved a little to look at him, a sweet smile plastered to her lips. “Don’t you dare..” She breathed, as she wrapped her arms around his neck, and pulled him as close as she possibly could without either of them falling off the piano bench.
The bench wobbled uneasily beneath them sending them both scrambling not to fall. But it was too late, Eddie tipped too far unable to recover, and took Sam with him. Tumbling to the floor in a tangled mess he gripped her tightly so she fell against his chest and didn’t hit the floor. The impact knocked the wind out of him and he groaned uncomfortably as Sam sat back onto her knees, straddling either side of his hips.
“Oh shit,” she slapped her hand over her mouth, giggling, “are you okay?” She quickly realized he might actually be hurt and ran her hands over his chest and face as he recovered from the fall.
“I think,” he groaned, “I think I need mouth to mouth, I can’t…” he pretended to faint and Sam laughed even harder.
“I think I can help with that,” she wrapped her fingers into the bundle of necklaces around his throat and crushed her lips against his just to shut him up.
Eddie sat up, cupping her head as their tongues tangled together. He rolled Sam onto her back, bumping into a few of the chairs. She cackled as he groaned.
"Christ, I swear I've done this before," Eddie said before laughing out loud.
"Lookin' forward to you proving that," she said with a smile.
Eddie kissed Sam again as she pulled off his jacket and tossed it to the side. The lean muscle of his shoulders and arms flexed against her hands as he hovered over her body. His hands slid under her shirt, long fingers gripping her ribs.
"You are ridiculously soft, holy shit," Eddie groans as his hips rock against hers.
She giggles, squirming in his grasp. Her eyes go wide as Eddie smiles, "ticklish, there too?"
His fingers dug into the skin of her side, causing Sam's back to arch. A laugh ending in a moan bubbled from her lips as the motion caused his hip bones to dig into her thighs.
Eddie used his knee to open up her legs and nestled himself between them, as he peppered her face with wet, messy kisses, landing back on her lips quickly, before ghosting her jaw with his tongue and then pulling her ear lobe between his teeth gently.
“I think this is the best music lesson I’ve ever had..” He rasped in her ear as Sam’s hands tangled into his hair. He moved his kiss down her neck and across her collarbone, as he pushed her shirt up and helped her pull it over her head.
He sat himself up onto his elbow and softly ran his finger across her collarbone and down her arm. “God, you’re beautiful…” He smiled at her, placing a tender kiss on her forehead. “I meant it, princess, you say the word and we stop, okay?”
Sam responded with a nod, so lost in his eyes she couldn’t find her words for a moment. Eddie nudged her nose lightly.
“I’m gonna need to hear you say it, sweetheart, can you do that for me?” he breathed against her lips. She cupped his face in her hands and lifted her chin, her lips meeting his as she took them between hers in a sweet but hungry kiss. She mimicked his previous action and pulled his bottom lip down with her teeth as she came back down. The pull made him groan as his hips bucked against hers.
“I say the word and we stop. I know.” She pulled her hands from his face, dipping them between their bodies and finding the hem of his shirt. “Off,” she panted against him as she fumbled with the fabric.
Eddie sat back carefully, raised on his knees, and lifted the shirt over his head in a swift movement, the necklaces getting caught in the collar. Sam laughed, gently pulling them free and letting them fall to his bare chest. Eddie stared at her, hovering over her body, and tickled his finger at the top of her jeans
.
“You can take them off Eddie, it’s okay” She breathed, smiling up at him, knowing that he was hesitating to go farther without her consent.
Taking a deep breath, he dipped his head and kissed his way from her neck down her torso as his fingers worked to undo her jeans. He hooked his fingers into them and slowly pulled them off, Sam’s hips lifting to help him before her pants were tossed aside. Eddie took her ankle in his hand, gliding his lips up her leg, placing little kisses along the way.
Sam let out a slight whine from beneath him, and reached for him again, “Baby please.. You’re being a tease,” she pouted.
Another deep chuckle left his chest, as he moved his body back on top of Sam’s, resting a hand above her head while his fingertips drew circles on her torso, skating slightly underneath her bra and the edge of her panties.
“Can I take these off?” he asked as he placed small kisses all over her jawline and his finger slipped under her bra strap.
A low moan tumbled from her lips as he reached her neck and he nibbled on the spot right below her ear. “God yes.”
Eddie smiled against her neck. He slid the tip of his nose up to her ear and whispered, “As you wish m’lady.” Earned a giggle from Sam as his hands reached towards her back.
His fingers grazed against her skin as he popped the clasp on her bra and tucked his hands into the straps and pulled it from her shoulders. “Do you just watch The Princess Bride by yourself or?” Sam watched him through her lashes as his expression shifted from confident to flustered.
“Enough talking princess,” he nuzzled his face against her neck to avoid the question. Kissing her collarbone and sternum, licking his tongue against her skin in circles. He kissed the top of each breast, before pulling a nipple between his teeth and rolling it against his tongue.
Sam whimpered against his touch and her hands pressed into the scratchy music room carpet below her back as Eddie worked his mouth around her breasts. Her breath quickened and she arched her back, pressing herself into him as her nipple hardened in his touch.
Eddie’s hand traveled down her body, before he dragged a knuckle against the fabric of her panties, a gasp escaping Sam’s lips. He looked up with concern in his eyes, “Is this okay?”
Nodding her head furiously, Sam bucked her hips back against his fingers. “Absolutely..” She breathed, lifting her head up to look at him, “Show me what those fingers can do..” She rasped with a smirk on her lips.
Eddie arched an eyebrow, as mischief came across his face. He hooked his fingers into her panties and pulled them off her legs, running his fingers lightly up her leg once more before dragging a finger through her wet folds. “So ready for me..” He whispered, placing a kiss on her hip bone.
He slipped a finger inside her warm cunt as he placed kisses on each hip bone and on top of her mound. His warm breath fanned above her throbbing nub as he stuck his tongue out and placed a kitten lick making her sing in pleasure as her back arched.
“Hmm I knew you’d sound beautiful.” he hummed.
Sam lifted herself up to her elbows and met his eyes. Eddie winked at her as he pulled his finger back, now slipping in two as he took her clit between his lips. He rolled his tongue around it and sucked as she let herself fall back, her hands finding solace in his hair.
“Oh, my G- Eddie please don’t stop.” Her fingers tangled in his hair she let her head fall back, red hair cascading in a pool on the floor beneath her. “Please,” the words dripped from her lips.
Eddie wasn’t planning on stopping, not until she was screaming his name, the anticipation of the sound was enough for him to pump faster. His other hand pressed to her stomach, holding her hips to the floor as his tongue worked against her sensitive, slick skin. She wanted to hear her beg for him, his name on her wet lips as he brought her closer and closer to the edge.
“Eddie,” she whimpered. Her hand tugging a little harder in his hair, he moaned against her as the pain mixed with the pleasure only made him needier. She loosened the grip on his hair, gaining his attention, she curved her fingers beckoning him back to her lips and he listened without hesitation.
He slammed their lips back together and pushed his hips against her. A hand rested against her neck, the coolness of his rings combating the heat of her skin, as he swiped his thumb across her throat.
“I need you, sweetheart..” He mumbled against her lips before moving off her and messily discarding his jeans and boxers. Eddie rolled back onto Sam and peppered her face with kisses, reaching between them to line himself up with her entrance. “Are you okay?” He asked, tucking a piece of Sam’s hair behind her ear.
Through bated breath, Sam groaned an incoherent yes as she wrapped her arms around his neck and combed her fingers into his dark waves. Both of them moaned as he finally pushed himself into her, Eddie placed little kisses over her collarbone and shoulder whispering compliments and praises into her skin.
Sam gave a soft kiss to his earlobe and lowered her head to nuzzle her face against his neck. She could feel him stretching her out and pleasure took over her whole body, but she was desperate to feel more of him. She needed him as close as possible.
Her hands traveled down along his back to stop just above his cheeks. “I need you to move baby,” she whispered.
His lips attached to her neck and the small groan that erupted vibrated into her skin. “ Just tell me if it hurts and I’ll stop, okay? “. She nodded
Her hands traveled back up to cup his face, assuring him with a soft smile, and he started to move slowly. His eyes stared right into hers as if he tried to remember every single expression on her face. A mixture between pleasure and pain hit her and she whimpered under his warm body before she dove into a fiery kiss.
Eddie kept his movements slow and controlled while she got used to him as they kissed. All tongue and teeth as he swallowed her moans and cries between his lips. He let her lip go with a soft plop as he left a trail of wet kisses along her jawline and down her neck.
“You feel so good, Sam. So. Good.”
Each word was punctuated with thrusts as her nails dug small half moons above his shoulder blades. Sam’s hand flew to her mouth as she cried out his name. He moved his hand to grab hers and interlaced their fingers as he laid their hands down next to her face.
“Don’t, please. I wanna hear those sweet sounds.” He reassured her, staring over at her with admiration. Her beautiful red hair stuck messily to the sweat on her neck and forehead. Beads of sweat dripped down her neck, begging for attention.
Eddie couldn’t resist himself and ran his tongue along her skin, nipping at her jaw before kissing her again. “What about the,” she could barely catch her breath as he thrust into her again, “janitor?”
“Let him hear,” Eddie laughed, kissing her again, growling against her skin, “I want everyone to know that we’re in here.”
Sam let out a laugh which bled into a groan as she clenched around him and pressed her head into the carpet, arching her back into him and meeting his thrusts. “Oh god, Eddie..” She whined, squeezing his hand.
The danger and thought of being caught only made them crazier for each other. Eddie picked up his pace and slammed harder into her as pleasure completely took over, moans and praises dripped from his lips, as he pressed messy kisses to her lips, taking in all her sounds.
“Fuck princess, you’re close... I can feel you” He rasped, pressing his forehead against her, as their hips moved against each other, he reached between them and circled her clit with his middle finger.
Only able to nod her head, Sam whined and took his bottom lip between her teeth, “Oh my god..” She breathed, as she pulsed her muscles around him, feeling the fire growing in her belly.
The two of them moved against each other, a mess of sweat and pleasure filling the whole room as Sam scrambled to grip Eddie’s shoulders. Her vision went black for a split second as she felt herself let go, feeling Eddie’s lips slam against hers once more. His thrusts became uncontrolled and quick as if feeling Sam let go was all he needed, before he felt himself spilling into her, their loud moans surely echoing down the empty hallways of the school.
Eddie peppered her shoulder, neck, jawline, and face with tiny kisses, moving a hand up to cup her cheek and swiping a bead of sweat away from her face. “Are you okay?” He whispered, unable to keep the smile off his perfect lips.
She cupped his face with one hand while the other pushed back strands of sweaty curls from his face. He leaned into her touch and laid a kiss on her palm. Even as they caught their breath, he still couldn’t fathom that they were here together. That they actually shared this moment, that it wasn’t some lucid dream from leftover adrenaline from the week.
“Perfect. You are perfect.” She breathed with a smile as he bashfully pressed his cheek to hers, a soft chuckle tumbling from his lips as he slipped his hand under her lower back and flipped them onto their sides. Sam hissed a little at the movement earning a string of whispered ‘sorry’s’ and kisses to both her cheeks and the tip of her nose from him.
“I’m far from it sweetheart. But you, oh you are a work of art.”
“Don’t say that Eddie. You were perfect - you are perfect.” She looked into his eyes, carefully brushing his cheek with her hand and keeping eye contact.
He grinned and bit his bottom lip. “Come here.” He almost whispered and pulled her softly into his chest. She rested her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.
She tangled two fingers into his necklaces and tilted her head up to look at him, “Eddie?” she said, the sound of her voice just a whisper. “What now?”
His brows pinched together, his lips pursing at her question. He hadn’t thought that far but now that he was there were a million things he wanted to do now, with her. He wanted to take her to the drive-in, to concerts, and walk her proudly down the hallway. He wanted everyone in Hawkins to know that she belonged to him, and he belonged to her. But what if that’s not what she wanted. He knew how people looked at him, and there was a fleeting moment of disappointment, of guilt for being selfish when he realized that she may be ashamed of him outside of this safe haven they had created. He had just needed her so badly he hadn’t thought about how hard he had just made everything for her.
He swallowed hard, looking at the locked door to the music room, “I,” he sighed, unsure of what to say. “Listen, Sam, I know how the school talks… if it’s better we can just pretend…”
“Pretend what?” Her voice was louder now. “If you’re going to suggest that I forget this happened, please don’t.” She pressed a soft kiss to his bottom lip and rubbed her thumb against his chest.
A deep sigh left Eddie’s chest as he pulled the small redhead closer to him, “I just... I don’t want anyone to hurt you... To turn on you or think less of you because of me. I would never forgive myself for doing that to you..” He answered quietly.
Eddie had gotten used to how everyone saw him. The villain who was corrupting the kids in town with his satanic game. The freak who was too loud and dramatic and didn’t know when to behave. He was used to the way everyone would stare at him or change sides of the street, and the thought of bringing that down upon Sam broke his heart.
Sam placed a light kiss on the tattoo that covered his heart before sitting back slightly to look in his eyes, “Eddie Munson, you listen to me. You are one of the kindest and most caring people I have ever met. I do not care what anyone says about you or the two of us together. I have wanted this for longer than I care to admit too. You are the person I choose Eddie. I want to be with you for exactly who you are.”
Eddie didn’t answer at first, but she could see how much her words affected him. How much he needed her to say that for him to understand that she didn’t give a shit what others would think of them together.
How much she cared for him.
The corner of his lips turned upwards into a soft smile and she swore that she could see his eyes getting slightly coated with tears before he placed his forehead against hers with closed eyes. He breathed out and whispered the words that made her heart beat faster than ever before.
“You are too precious for this world, princess… I’m never letting you go.” He embraced her into a tight hug and kissed her hard, feeling how her heart could burst out from her chest as she pulled him as close as possible with the grip on his necklace.
“Well, good thing I don’t plan on going anywhere then huh?” She said as he pulled back from her lips a soft but hesitant smile on his lips. He buried his face in the crook of her neck and took in the mix of her sweet soft scent with his as he tried to contain his emotions. She can’t see you crack, Munson. How the hell did he get so lucky?
“Sam?” he asked after a minute of silence, both not wanting to leave each other, but he knew at some point this moment would end and he was pushed into reality again.
“Yeah?” she whispered in a sleepy voice. He noticed her steady breathing. The last thing he wanted to do right now was to keep her awake but they had to get up at some point. Tomorrow would be a regular day at school again and he didn’t need anyone walking into the music room seeing them like this. This was just for him and her, a moment for nobody else but them.
Eddie smiled into her skin as he placed a sloppy kiss on her forehead, and brushed a hand over the side of her face, removing the strands of hair that were stuck in the sweat remaining on her skin. “We’ve gotta get up sweetheart,” He mumbled, shifting so that he could stand up, and reach out his hands for her. He pulled her up to her feet and placed both hands on the sides of her face.
“One more kiss” He chuckled, pressing his lips into hers, pulling back, and then kissing her a second time.
Sam giggled into the kiss, placing her hands on his waist. When he finally let her go, the two of them moved around the classroom, gathering their clothes and getting dressed again. Eddie stole glances at her as she pulled her shirt back over her head, unable to contain his happiness. It was a new feeling for him. He actually felt at peace with her around. He still worried about the backlash Sam would face just by being near him, it was something he was always going to worry about. This town loved to cut down anyone who dared be different than them and they wouldn’t hesitate to do that to Sam. He just knew it. But it just meant that he had to protect her. She had made it clear to him that she wasn’t running away that easily, which only seemed to make the uneasy feeling worse.
Once they were dressed, Eddie made his way back over to her, and draped his jacket around her shoulders, smiling as he placed a light kiss on the tip of her nose. “We should get you home, Red” He smirked, as he breathed out a deep sigh.
Eddie wrapped his arm around Sam’s waist and kissed her temple as they walked out of the classroom and into the hallway together. As they walked Sam leaned her head against his shoulder, and let out a deep breath.
“When we are together, the moments I cherish. With every beat of my heart to touch you, to hold you, to feel you, to need you. There's nothing to keep us apart..” Eddie sang quietly.
Let Me In
Steve Harrington X Eddie Munson
Eddie wants so badly to tell Steve the pressing matters on his mind. So much so that he's willing to bike all the way in the rain to show him just how he feels.
⚠️ Warnings: Slight Angst, mentions of scars, kinda sexual wording?⚠️
The rain poured and poured nonstop outside of the Family Video Store. It was dark and dreary, but when it was matched with the most spontaneous bike ride and a Walkman that played Iron Maiden, it was just perfect. The puddles splashed around as the new droplets of water joined the ground, making short tapping noises almost as if the sky was speaking in Morose Code. The night was just starting to fall which meant that the sky was a dark and hazy blue-grey, a calming and pretty sight to passersby. The stars were just starting to peek out as they twinkled onto the dark pavement below. The only thing that lit up the lot was the Family Video Store fluorescent lighting which shone on the cracks and pebbles of the pavement Eddie rode on, bike wheels slightly scuffing up the earth. His curly brown hair was now down to his shoulders since it was wet beyond belief and his clothes were equally soaked. His Hellfire Club shirt stuck to his midsection and his black ripped jeans became ten times heavier with the weight of the water holding him down. Still, he pushed through as he caught a glimpse of the writing on his shoes, urging him to go on. In the whitest parts of the soles Steve had written him little phrases. The little doodles of stars and smiley faces added to the butterflies starting to form in the pit of Eddie's chest as he knew what he was about to do.
The bike made a scraping noise as he came to an immediate halt the moment he made it to the front doors. He couldn't wait until he could exchange it for a motorbike of sorts, once he graduated highschool once and for all that is. Until then, the red chipped paint and the handlebars that locked up with every given chance would have to suffice. Throwing the transportation device onto the sidewalk, Eddie gave himself a slight pep talk before he went into the store. The movie posters that had been printed on the windows added to the feeling of excitement when he noticed one of them was The Evil Dead. Fiddling with the rings on one of his hands, he shook his wrist as the anxiety of the situation finally hit him. Still raining, he knew his slight eyeliner must've run down his face and would most likely cause a scene once he was inside the familiar store. Hopefully, since it was just closing, Eddie would be able to get in undetected via lack of customers.
Pushing open the doors, a bell resounds throughout the entirety of the small building, signifying the presence of someone entering. The carpet looked the same as he remembered, dirty and printed with that horrid triangular design exclusive to the 80's. However, even though the front desk stayed the same, the rest of the displays had been moved around expertly to accommodate all of the vhs tapes that littered the shelves. Eddie pushed on further inside, starting to regret his decision until his eyes made direct contact with Steve "The Hair" Harrington, wearing the most ridiculous green vest.
It felt as though time itself had stopped as if Eddie and Steve were the only beings in the world. Steve's hair was everywhere which told the metalhead that he had been stressed and ripping at his hair again. His light blue polo underneath the horrendous work attire brought out the phenomenal golden color of his skin and his dark brown eyes looked Eddie up and down. From the tips of his toes to the hair on his head, Steve took everything in and drank it into his memory, keeping it there as if he needed to remember every minute detail about Eddie and his physicality. The leather jacket under his patched up denim and his ridiculous perm that seemed to be exclusive to the music nerds of Hawkins High. The bats that were hidden under Eddie's clothing called out to Steve in an odd way, as if his fingers burned from the possibility of being able to graze over that portion of Eddie's skin.
Eddie offered up a slight smile to which the other boy returned, a grin that had melted the hearts of many and offered a sort of solace for the kids Eddie played D&D with. Steve was very handsome, he thought. It made him want to melt into the floor everytime he got to see the smile that showed off his brilliant teeth.
"Ahoy!- er- shit that was my last job, sorry." Steve chuckled and pushed the hair that was falling into his eyes away from his face, tucking a strand of it behind his ear as he leant on the red desk from behind. The telephone on the right of his arm was just as red as the counter and presumably Eddie's cheeks by this point. Thinking about Harrington was one thing, seeing him in the flesh was another.
"Ah it's okay, I didn't come to rent a movie." Eddie put one of his feet in front of the other, gently tapping the sole to the tip of the shoe in an anxious manner. He tried to look at anything but the beautiful boy in front of him, finding it excruciatingly hard for him to think about anything else. The ceiling tiles, the movies, the floor, the telephone, everything was so disinteresting compared to the radiance of Steve Harrington. Eddie was torn from his thoughts the moment he saw the pen lettering on his shoe.
'Never change, Munson.'
Steve had written that with a borrowed pen from Robin at one of Eddie's Corroded Coffin shows. He had played a total of two songs and there were about ten people who showed, but Steve was one of them. Eddie wouldn't have had it any other way; watching the popular boy glance at him over his guitar, tongue slightly escaping his lips as he glanced at Eddie's hands which were put to work on the strings, playing the familiar Metallica tune.
"What can I do for you then, Eddie? ...Did you bike here?" Steve asked, voice laced with slight concern. It never failed to make Eddie's insides twist and turn into something one could only describe as pure and utter admiration for another human being.
"I-I-" He began, but got lost in the words. How would he come clean about his feelings? How would he possibly be able to put into words the exact way he felt whenever Steve drove him to school or when he would smile at him from afar? How would he be able to get Steve to comprehend how he felt when he came to one of his shows? How would Eddie put into words how badly he wanted to touch Steve beyond the friendly handshakes and fist bumps?
"I think I might have a sweater lying around somewhere in the back if you want some dry clothes." Steve started to flip up the corner of the desk so he could walk out to the break room. He was wearing those stupid khakis that were so exclusive to the father community of Hawkins that Eddie would've had to suppress a laugh if he wasn't so invigorated with the current task at hand. Moving towards him, he threw all caution to the wind as he grabbed the other boy's hand, stopping him from moving any further and replacing the comfortable expression on his face with one of confusion. Steve's brows were furrowed but his hands and face were hot unbeknownst to the metalhead. This was the closest they had been in proximity by themselves, without the familiar screaming of the kids or the incessant nagging from Robin and Nancy. Just pure and utter silence and two boys looking for the right words to say.
"Steve."
"Eddie."
Eddie shifted in his spot, moving his jacket up with his shoulders and uncomfortably being awkward. Suddenly the store seemed hot and suffocating, the walls closing in on the two of them in his mind. Yet even with this sense of claustrophobia, he wanted to get even closer to Steve and to feel his hot breath exhaling against his skin and to feel the heat of him flush against his chest. To play with the hair that was always freshly sprayed with Farrah Faucet and the trace over the imperfections on his skin. Every scar, freckle, and mole on his body yearned to be touched by Steve's lips and the thought alone made him shudder in excitement. He knew he had to say this now before he was never able to again.
"I think-"
"Think what?" Steve harmlessly glanced at his face once more, trying to pick out what it was he was feeling.
"I think I feel more towards you than just a friend." Eddie finally let the words roll off his tongue and into the open air, surrounding the two of them as though they were music notes, echoing inside his mind and bouncing off the body of the boy in front of him. For a moment, Eddie felt relieved but quickly composed himself as he awaited a response.
Steve felt very very weird. He had never felt this type of way in his life, being at an indecision of what to do. He didn't know whether to freak out and shun away the thoughts he knew he had about Eddie months prior to his confession, or to accept it and let the boy know he felt the same. This would change everything and yet, it would change nothing. Eddie was so gorgeous. His hair was still dripping onto the floor that Steve was supposed to clean up after his shift, which ended twenty minutes ago. The chains and patches loosely placed onto his jeans and jacket made Steve's insides go wild at the thought of tracing over them with his hands, cautiously wondering what they would feel like under his tongue. But- despite all this- he remained expressionless, glued to his spot and not saying anything.
Eddie felt his heart break. He felt every inch of his chest erupt into fire, killing the butterflies that stemmed from his admiration and longing and anxiousness. It was all too much for him to handle. The worst part was knowing that he would have to go on as though nothing ever happened between him and the King of Hawkins High. As if every aching of his heart wasn't pointed in the direction of the one person on earth he'd wanted to be his lover since day one.
Turning around, he walked out of Family Video. The sky was now fully dark and the rain still beat against the windows, his bike now fully wet with the water that sloshed down from the gutters on the roof and the water that filled the puddles in the pavement. His heart felt similar to that in a way- just an open cavity slowly drowning from the inside out.
"Eddie!" Steve shouted from the door, but Eddie didn't want to hear it. He mounted his bike with tears in his eyes, mixing with the rain that fell from the clouds overhead. He paid no mind to Steve, who was now in the rain with him. It wasn't until he started to ride off that Steve knew he couldn't let him go. He couldn't just allow him to think that he didn't feel the same longing as he did. As if he didn't think about loving him in every extremity. Running faster, Steve managed to stand in Eddie's direction with his arms held out in an attempt to stop him from going any further. The tears threatening to spill from eyes became too much as Steve allowed them to fall, an emotion he didn't portray often.
"Eddie. I think about you that way too!"
The metalhead hopped off the bike. Standing just a few feet apart from the boy he'd grown to love, he felt the water escaping his lungs as the universe allowed him to breathe again. It was as if someone had conducted a surgery on his heart and fixed him and all the spontaneity he held within him before. All because Steve said the three words that he'd thought walking into the video store tonight.
"I love you."
And there it was. Rain still pouring relentlessly and both boys with cheeks so red you'd think they'd gotten a sunburn in the middle of autumn, there it was. The raw and beautiful emotion of two lovers who had been torn apart by society but still found a way back to one another. A couple of hesitant footsteps in front of them and the soft sobs that could be heard from Steve pushed the couple closer and closer until eventually the thoughts of tasting one another became actions. The thoughts of love and emotion became words and the intensity of their attraction became feverish as they allowed themselves to consume each other in their grasp under the harsh rain.
"I wish you hadn't waited so long to tell me that, Harrington. Otherwise, I would've been right here this whole time." Eddie said, wiping a stray tear away from his face once they broke away. A slight chuckle left him as he took in Steve's flustered but beautiful state. His hair was flatter than a pancake against his head and it made Eddie love him even more knowing that he willingly followed him out in the rain even at the expense of his hair.
"May I kiss you again?" Steve asked ever so softly, finally allowing him to voice the emotions he'd been feeling for so long.
"Of course." Eddie said, smiling and leaning in for another one.
The sky crackled above with a beautiful blue and purple lightning, shining down over the lovers who felt just as electric as the weather.
I'm sorry to all of you who are here for other fanfictions, it might take a while since I'm on a bit of a Stranger Things kick!
Seriously though, I am a writing machine this week. I need to read more of Dune before I start on part four of that, but people have been asking and they shall receive.
I love you all and I hope you're having a wonderful day/night wherever you are. Send me asks if there's any ideas you come up with or if you just want to say hi!!

Eddie Munson X Steve Harrington X Reader
This isn't proofread, please forgive me it's been a long week
⚠️ Warnings: swearing, crack ⚠️
Eddie held onto your hand tightly as you made your way through the hallways of Hawkins High; class was still in session so the two of you had to be somewhat quiet as you snuck your way out the front doors. You were in Chemistry when Eddie had brought up the proposition by waving his hands frantically on the other side of the small window on the door, motioning for you to join him and leave once again. You had looked over to your friend and waited for them to push their books off their desk so you could manage to sneak out. The professor had been too invested in what had happened to notice you slip out the door and into your boyfriend's arms.
You and Eddie had done this many times before, loving the feeling of adrenaline coursing through your entire body as excitement took hold over you, whipping past open doorways and teachers roaming the halls. Giggling, you watched your boyfriend run in front of you with his long and curly hair flowing about his face as the wrinkles around his eyes became more and more prominent with every smile he sent in your direction. His Hellfire Club T-shirt taunted you from afar and his metalhead denim jacket rattled with the weight of his various band pins and patches. He looked absolutely beautiful in this moment.
Noticing one of the classrooms approaching, you hurriedly pulled him back from the open doorway, taking shelter against the wall to try and stay out of view of every student within it. Trying your best to peer in undetected, you noticed that the teacher was on the opposite side of the room. Just then, you locked eyes with a concerned Dustin who was twiddling a pencil in between his fingers and staring at you with a "not this shit again" look. His baseball cap was slightly lopsided and a grin threatened to show on his face when he realized Eddie was with you.
You sent him a salute and then pulled Eddie behind you as fast as you could to escape the eyes of Dustin's classroom. It seemed as though you would make it out without suspicion but Eddie had to hit one of the lockers with his foot, which led to him falling to the floor and laughing.
"Eddie!" You whisper-shouted as you tried to show some form of discontent, but you were laughing too hard with him for it to come across as angry as you would've liked.
"Munson? What are you doing out of class?" Dustin's teacher appeared from her classroom as she took in the sight of the rocker on the ground holding his foot as a stream of giggly curse words left his lips. Standing up as fast as humanly possible, Eddie straightened his shoulders and put on the best serious face he could muster.
"I was showing (Y/N) where the bathrooms were." He said, trying to come up with an excuse on the fly.
"That was the same excuse you used last time I caught you out here."
Eddie struggled to try and come up with something else but then Dustin came running out of the room clutching his stomach and screaming.
"Mrs. Mundy! I'm going to throw up on- on- uh- everything!!!" Dustin screamed, grabbing onto her arm and puffing out his cheeks.
"Dustin! Do you need to see the nurse?!" Mrs. Mundy questioned with concern at her student.
You silently thanked Dustin and grabbed onto Eddie's shoulder, taking the distraction and running in the opposite direction towards the doors where Steve would be waiting with his car for the two of you.
"Actually I think I'm fine, it must've been a spur-of-the-moment thingy." Dustin said, shrugging his shoulders the minute you were out of sight.
You held Eddie's hand as you pushed past the doors and made your way to the familiar blue car parked out front with a familiar looking guy with big hair. He stuck his arm out the window, motioning for you two to run faster. And run faster you did. Jumping up the stairs to the parking lot and hopping in the car, you see principal Higgins walking outside, trying his best to catch up to the two of you.
"You can't leave! School's not over!" He shouted but to no avail as Steve readied his car and drove off so fast you thought the doors might fly off. Eddie was situated in the backseat while you were on the passenger side. Rolling down his window, Eddie flipped the principal off and laughed maniacally.
"Thanks for picking us up, Steve." You said, face beaming.
"Of course, I have to look out for my two little shits." He said, looking in his rearview mirror and watching the school fade into the distance.
"You got any Metallica on that stereo of yours?" Eddie piped in from the back with a hopeful grin.
"Always." Steve said, and put in a tape. The Smiths started blasting through the sound system of the car and he drummed his fingers rhythmically to the beat.
"You motherfucker I asked for Metallica!!" Eddie pouted and hit Steve playfully on the arm over and over again as he threw a little temper tantrum in the backseat.
Steve turned the volume up even higher and yelled over Morrissey, "I can't hear you!"
You propped your feet up against the dash and watched as your boyfriends argued over the radio. Oh well, it was better than sitting through another boring Chemistry lesson.
