TCF Part 2 Chapter 419

The God of Death looked at Cale. "The reason I called you here is to tell you about the First Wanderer. You're not interested in hearing about the affairs of the gods anyway, right?" "Yes. Correct." Cale genuinely had no intention or ability to get involved in the fight between the gods. 'I'll have to be crazy to fight a god, right?' In a fight between whales, the shrimp's back gets broken. "Hehehe. I knew it." The God of Death continued speaking, laughing as if he found it amusing.

🚩🚩🚩 Cale planted another flag. 🤣🤣🤣

Uh, Cale... Have you forgotten that DA wants to make the gods bow to him? Or that SEW wants to fight GoW? Or that you once "fought" the God of Despair by sealing him in GoD's book via Embrace? Yeah, good luck avoiding fighting a god. 😂😂😂

Cale is so ready to take on everything.

I’m rereading the heart scene and, just- his life as Kim Rok Soo had such an impact on how he handles pressure, it’s actually sad. When he was KRS, people relied on him. Heavily. As the team leader, people saw him as a life line.

He never took breaks, he put himself in danger and sacrificed his well-being by using his abilities (for example, Instant), and as we hear later on- he had a 0% mortality rate. When people around him were weak, he became strong in order to overcome it. Nobody died when he became the Team Leader.

And in the world they lived in- yes! I’m not surprised at all that people latched onto him. No matter how much they care about him, they couldn’t help but allow him to save them. Over and over again.

So Cale had this expectation for himself too! When others give up -> he does not. In front of impossible tasks, he rises up, because that’s how it should be. How could someone who had so little as a child- no parents, no friends, no stability or safety or reliability- how could he possibly give up what he’s managed to attain? How could he let his friends get hurt when he knows that he could be hurting instead?

And then he becomes Cale, and he relaxes. His new companions are strong, and he’s not going to be with them for very long anyway. He will slack off, chill out, and take his hands off the wheel.

But he can’t- he just can’t stop helping them. Like an addiction, he helps Choi Han get a connection to Ron and Beacrox. Then he saves Raon. He helps Lock, Amiru, Mary, Alberu, Queen Litana. It’s fucking impulsive. It’s for his own benefit but he tangles himself into the story because tampering with Fate is a fucking side hobby for him.

Then he develops relationships and friends- and when he sees danger approaching he stands up against it like a solid wall. Over and over again.

And, what? He naturally expects the people behind him to stay behind that wall. To listen to him and help, but to stay safe in the long run. He expects them back off when something looks impossible. Because- well, he’s right here isn’t he? Overcoming the impossible is second nature for him!

But the people around him… aren’t standing by passively, like they did when he was KRS. When he was KRS they let him protect them for 15 years. Then he’s Cale Henituse and they don’t. They learn from him. They learn to stand up against the unpredictable and the indomitable. They see him and learn.

They aren’t happy about his sacrifices, but he tells them to be full and content and to eat well… so they listen. For a while. They understand wisdom and they take his words and learn their limitations.

Right until he stabs himself in the heart. What the fuck?! Biggest hypocrite in history right??! Can’t trust this guy to not bleed and sacrifice himself for shit!!!

So they angrily push aside his worry and their limits and they decide that it’s THEIR turn to protect him. Even against a GOD, Cale has shown them that nothing is impossible so they’re going to turn the tables and THEY’RE going to be the ones to cough blood!!

This scene is so heart wrenching, but it’s Cales disbelief that hurts the most. He’s fucking stunned. He’s someone who can’t even imagine the lengths that a person would go for him. He’s a person who protects without ever expecting to receive that same effort.

Sure, he knows he’ll be protected. He’s not naive. But he puts 200% and expects 50-100%. He goes above and beyond, but prepares for average. Prepares for lackluster.

So when everyone tries to push him aside to protect him? He- he doesn’t even notice their efforts! It’s like looking for a leaf in a forest, but he’s supposed to be looking at the entire forest. Why would he think that they would give him a forest’s worth of leaves? He’s oblivious. So he looks for a single leaf.

Then they really do push him back and protect him- they defend against the orb that’s exploding and it’s like they’re screaming “It’s the forest! It’s always been the forest!”

And he’s lost. Absolutely, utterly lost. It’s heartbreaking, how distressed he is that his friends are hurting and they won’t let him handle it for them. He’s not even hurt, after all! He hasn’t fainted, he’s still useful! He’s ready! What he’s done so far hasn’t even been too difficult! Why won’t they let go and give it to him?

Everyone is so angry at him, or busy pitying him, that he’s left alone with this. While reading this scene I’m filled with a strong disconnect. He is surrounded by his friends but everyone is far away from him. Their goals have never been farther apart than this moment.

He’s always been one step ahead.

He’s always been ready. He’s always waiting.

And then he stabbed himself in the heart, and everyone but him felt the shift in the stars.

And then the next scenes are his friends trying to wrestle the responsibility out of his white-knuckles hands. They fight for it! Yet all the way until the orb’s time to explode, he holds onto it with an iron grip. I don’t even think he realized they were trying to take it out of his hands.

He kills the White Star, he Embraces the Ancient Powers, and he even manages to Embrace the Sealed God into the book and take over the temple in one move. We get to see everyone’s reactions to his stubbornness too.

So they become twice as stubborn. They cough up blood, they faint, they do 200% of what they’re naturally capable of. Why?

Because they saw Cale do it first. Because they refuse to let him do it again.

And Cale?

He can’t say anything.

I’m on a reread of tcf so expect more lists soon. This is mostly for myself but have it anyways. I’m just past chapter 200 on the reread so the attack with the northern alliance is underway.

He really beat him to a pulp while saying that a beating was the best medicine for a troublemaker. ( (PR: I pity Witira and Paseton.) TL: You mean envy. You like the pain as a masochist… )

71 Toonka got up while staggering to the side. At that moment, Cale could hear Raon’s serious voice.

110 Cale looked odd as he suddenly stopped laughing and stoically stood there. A path of silver coins was shining on top of the boiling lava. That silver light meshed well with the red-haired Cale.

112 Cale could see an old Elf with white hair and beard walking toward them. It was the Elf Chief. However, unfortunately, he did not have time to greet her. (I double checked the raw and it does indeed say beard but it is a woman )

114 The group all looked toward Cale at Ron’s question. He had fainted after coughing up blood. They knew that Cale was a good person who really liked to help others, but they also knew that Cale did not enjoy moving around and getting hurt. (Pfft, you’ve all been scammed to believe he’s a good person! (PR: I mean, he COULD have just ignored the Elves’ plight…) )

118 “Just what are you selling to the Whipper Kingdom that Alberu keeps laughing for no reason when he is alone?”

129 Hannah let out a quiet chuckle. Although her poisoned body was still in pain, she was now full of vitality. Cale gently asked Hannah, who seemed to be imagining the opportunity to get her revenge. (Cale just collects people who want revenge. )

There was a different kind of smile on his face now. Raon, who was watching the father-son duo chat while remaining invisible, started to speak into Cale’s mind.

– Human, the Count is smiling like you do when you are scamming people! It is amazing! It is very similar! ((PR: I wonder what Deruth’s young scamming years were like…) )

Alberu was certain after seeing Cale eating a cookie with an expression that seemed to be saying, ‘I know nothing.’

“It was you.”

“What was?”

“What did you do to the Vatican?”

Cale started to smile as he bit down on the cookie. ((PR: Cale is an innocent lil child.) )

‘Apparently, he grew up with poor parents and many siblings, but his good character made him popular with the people in the slums and the general public. They call him a Dragon from the river. (This is an idiom for something rare. You wouldn’t normally find a Dragon coming out of a river. (PR: A-Are dragons common in other places then?) )

Alberu shocked to find out choi han is a sword master ((PR: Oh if only he knew Cale’s party’s full strength…) )

Litana could see that the man had a magic bag on him, but did not have a sword or anything else, as if he had just come into the forest for a stroll. He also seemed to know his way around. He had an odd atmosphere around him. She suddenly thought of something.‘…Is he a dragon?’ She recalled the legend about the dragon that would grant your wish. The legend did not say anything about the dragon’s appearance nor how it showed up. Litana knew her thoughts were probably wrong, but she could not help but become full of anticipation. It was at that moment. Litana made eye contact with this man named Cale and could see him start to smile. “I am not a dragon.”

“Young master-nim, are you perhaps a dragon-.” Shawn and Tasha both froze up, while Choi Han’s pupils started to shake.”No.” Cale was very stern. “I am not a dragon.”

The Elf who stopped Cale did not budge at Pendrick’s actuals and became chaotic as he looked toward Cale.“T, tha-.”The Elf started to speak in a shaking voice. “Do, do you believe in mana?” Cale thought the Elf was asking if he was religious. Cale started to laugh out of nervousness. The middle-aged Elf flinched after seeing Cale’s smirk. This relaxed demeanor and those cruel eyes that looked down on anything other than himself. It was the same as the great gaze of a Dragon. ‘The feeling of a Dragon that is floating around in the air.’ There was no way a Dragon would be spinning around in circles like this. The Elf was certain that Cale was using his aura and spinning it in a circle to play around with the lifeforms in the restaurant. It was something a Dragon would do. If that was the case, then there was only one person the Dragon it could be. ‘That person has the strongest scent of nature on him.’

… He had to be a Dragon. But he did not dare to say that out loud….“I do not believe in something like mana.”A Dragon would have responded that he believed in mana. However, Cale answered that he did not believe in mana.

Cale looked directly into the Elf’s eyes and made his stance clear.

The Elf slowly started to look down. “… I will proceed as you wish.”…“I apologize for disturbing you. I will pretend not to know you in the future, sir. I pray that you are not upset.” ‘…This is too weird. It definitely feels like he is treating me like a Dragon. An Elemental that has met a Dragon would definitely tell this Elf that I am a human. What is going on?

He flattened himself against the silver shield and observed Cale, who was on the other side. To be more accurate, he was observing the area around Cale. “…I smell a Lord. That power from earlier was definitely a Dragon Lord. I know it was. I’ve smelled it before.” ‘This crazy bastard.’ Cale could not help but think that way after seeing this scene that. seemed to be straight out of a horror movie. “Are you a Dragon?” The mage’s eyes sparkled. The fiery thunderbolt. That thunderbolt was made up of pure natural power and mana. This was not something a human mage could do…. “You’re a Dragon. Hmm? Are you a Dragon that came out to play? Is it you? Or is it that thing next to you? Hmm?” Bang! Bang! The Dragon half-blood’s two fists slammed against the shield. ‘This crazy bastard. Does Arm only have lunatics like this?’ Cale looked toward the completely insane person and started to speak “A Dragon that came out to play my ass. Sounds more like your brain went out to play. Stop spewing such nonsense.” “Hahahaha!” The Dragon half-blood started to laugh at Cale’s response. “Yes, I knew you would be that way. Dragons are always good at doing things like this. They feign ignorance and then play around with people much weaker than them. Kahaha, how fun. This is so much-.”

[Bakehe] could see the long vertical pupils after seeing Rasheel’s eyes up close. He then started to think about the spells Rasheel used that even the Royal Mage could not use. Rasheel’s mana and skills were also strong enough to take down a sword master like himself. ... The person calling him a human bastard was not human. ‘…A Dragon! Smile. Rasheel started to smile. “You finally get it? You finally understand who I am?”

The young boy walked over to Bakehe and made a comment. “We gathered to prevent you from working with the White Star to create chaos in the world.” Bakehe recalled how Rasheel couldn’t even talk back to this young boy. He had acted as if he was addressing a superior. Who could a Dragon address as a superior? '…Another Dragon!’ It would be impossible unless it was another Dragon. “I heard that the kingdoms on the Eastern continent are working with the White Star to cause chaos on the Western and Eastern continents.” The young boy gave off a noble demeanor. He seemed even more Dragon-like than Rasheel and naturally gave off a sense of being a ruler. “We could not sit back and let you do as you pleased. Did you really think you could survive after pulling this kind of crap?” ... “If you continue your alliance… Your future will only consist of chaos, destruction, and despair.”

The young boy looked toward Rasheel, who added on in a growling voice. “Human, make sure to heed our warning as we are saying it as the representative of the Dragons." Cale nodded his head. ‘I’m not a Dragon, so Rasheel needs to say it as the representative of the Dragons.' However, Bakehe thought that Cale nodding his head looked more majestic and caused him to think. ‘The Dragons are gathering because of what the White Star is trying to do!’ Dragons were too strong. They were able to easily handle a sword master like Bakehe. ‘And if there are multiple Dragons……?!’ Would he be able to survive?

I just read TCF chapter 1036 and the ending is one of the cutest things I've ever seen (◕‿◕)♡

~ Spoiler alert for chapters 1032 to 1036 ~

Kendall and Rasheel's fight was beautiful, pure art (＾་།＾)

The way the attributes of "Victory" and "Indomitability" interacted was a marvel (*￣▽￣)b

Archie going to help was something I considered kind of cute, after all, Rasheel and Bud think they're the only sane ones, even when it's the opposite (￢ ￢), so I think they could be very good friends and this interaction made me proves it (⁀ᗢ⁀).

Changing the subject the complete beating that Rasheel gave to Kendall once she managed to land the first blow was incredible, it was not only physical, but also mental ∑d (° ∀ ° d).

He destroyed her ideology and self-esteem with every blow and phrase he uttered ＼ (٥⁀ ▽ ⁀) ／

And what I liked the most, Rasheel being a Tsun-Tsun (///￣ ￣///), after all he himself said that any attention other than a beating was a waste of time for someone who treated him him and his companions as toys to destroy.

Furthermore, it also turns out that Rasheel is just as reckless and oblivious as Cale is by not recognizing the concern that Raon and Cale feel for him after seeing him so hurt, seeking praise instead of trying to understand it (︶︹︺).

In fact, what I liked most about these chapters was the end of 1036.

Raon, the cute one (ﾉ ´ з `) ノ, decided that Rasheel needed cake to cure him, but he wasn't going to give her his human's apple pie.

He instead gave him Walnut Cake! (❤ω❤)

He is so cute! ( = ⩊ = )

Is it weird that he wants Rasheel to get hurt more so Raon keeps giving him pecan pie (¯ . ¯٥)?
