I had nothing to do in class and I had just finished playing The Gray Garden, and I absolutely loved Emalf's design I thought "why not draw one of my characters like him?" and this was the result (I did this over a month ago but forgot to post it-)
I haven't heard about anything. But people suck. Just leave Funa alone, please. If you don't like her art, or the community, then LEAVE IT ALONE.
Sooo to those who aren't on Twitter:
Some random asshole made a tweet about how Funamusea's characters don't deserve being in her problematic hands or something like that, and it gained traction. It has caused a wave of haters to appear complaining about almost absolute nonsense, reaching the infamous suicide bait
Because this was big, the fandom gave it attention, which as a result led to Funamusea herself finding out about it. Funamusea, someone who's from a culture of politeness and respect that finds the idea of insulting artists online insane
Do you know how it feels seeing dozens of people wanting you gone just because you draw things for your own pleasure, in your own space, that they can perfectly avoid?? It doesn't feel great
So now she's taking a break from the overseas side of the community. Even if she finished any project right now (which won't happen because she's feeling like shit right now) it won't get an official English translation until she calms down
This exact thing happened on 2014 on this very same social media, and back then people agreed to not let this happen again because it made Funamusea stay away from her fans for years out of fear. I'd say "those who forget history are doomed to repeat it" but these guys know, they just don't have any morals or empathy
And I know some people that interact with me agree on this chronically online behavior, so hey, congrats! You're not getting more content of your UWU characters anytime soon!
