I don't know what I miss more, having free time to draw or these fellas
The raven cycle!!!!
Oh I love these guys. Everything about these books, I want to draw them soooo much more (I probably will)!!
Guys I'm back-
It has been a nightmare lately this is the only thing I managed to draw in weeks? Finals and uni stuff that's taking all of my time and energy, slowly turning me into a cafeinated slug (worst part is caffeine doesn't even have an effect on me? I only drink coffee for the TASTE can you imagine). Anyway the rush won't be over until end of January but hopefully I'll be able to ignore the stress and draw anyway :)
the dream thieves is the most perfect book ever because adam and gansey are going through a divorce, blue is breaking up with adam, ronan lets go of his crush on gansey in favor of perusing his para-religious devotion to adam full time, kavinsky is obsessed with having a threesome with gansey and ronan and sends gansey a dick pic from ronan’s phone, gansey starts dating blue behind adam's back the second they're freshly divorced and adam and blue have broken up, ronan turns kavinsky down and as a reaction to that kavinsky kidnaps ronans brother and then kills himself in front of their whole group. everyone is completely unfazed by this except for gansey who seems to care a little bit which adam thinks is cute. it's also in this book that the hitman who killed ronan’s dad starts hitting on blue’s mom. sound off in the comments if you know of any other ya books similar to this
The Raven King is pretty much guaranteed to destroy me. And everyone else in the fandom.
Aglionby Academy was the number one reason Blue had developed her two rules: One, stay away from boys because they were trouble. And two, stay away from Aglionby boys, because they were bastards.
finals season has started and im praying to adam parrish every night
PYNCH WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Adam Parrish - The Magician

I recently got back into digital art and had an idea but not really the talent to execute but this was my try at adam parrish as the magician tarot card
ok so with the new trc art with the tarot cards on the box, i need to share my rant about all of their meanings:
okay so blue is 11, which is two things. in the major arcana, that is “judgement” which is literally the card about being SENSIBLE!! LIKE HELLOO OKAY also in minor arcana, 11s are the page cards, like the page of cups. then is adam and he’s is 1 which is magician obvi. THEN is ganey which is 7 which is the chariot and that’s about like established yourself and the importance of conviction in ur life. then is ronan who is 6 WHICH IS THE FREAKING LOVERS LIKE AHHHHH and it makes so much sense because like yeah obvious he loves so much but ALSO on the card for the lovers is ADAM and eve sooooooooo 🤭 and finally the most heart breaking of all is noah who is the hanged man, which in about the importance of SACRIFICE!!! BUT EVEN MOREEE IS THAT THAT CARD IS OFTEN COMPARED TO THE CHARIOT SAYING THAT THE SACRIFICE OF THE HANGED MAN IS JUST AS POWERFUL AS THE CHARIOT’S WILL
okay thanks for coming to my ted talk
-The Raven King, page 283
yk what we don’t talk about enough???? ronan PRE-buzz, like his hair is described as “long and dark and curled, neatly to his chin” HELLO WDYM HE HAD A BOB????
“I was here. I exist. I’m alive because I bleed”
-Adam Parrish, BLLB, page 315
found a certain someone’s car at the book store
"For the love of...Parrish, take some care, this is not your mother's 1971 Honda Civic"
Adam lifted his head and said, "They didn't start making the Civic until '73".
- The Raven Boys, p 238

vampire!Ronan turning Adam and hating himself so much for striping him off his soul and condeming him to hell and Adam's just like,
"I never have to sleep again? This is so practical, for me specifically."
college student Adam works in a suit store
Ronan suddenly needs a new suit every other Sunday
(Declan is surprisingly proud?)
opening capped bottles with rings is so Ronan Lynch coded for some reason idk
he's MY Joseph Kavinsky if you even care
Some of my favourite media rn are The Raven Cycle, The Dreamer trilogy and also the Revolutionary Girl Utena anime and I came to the conclusion that I just really love media that bases it magic system and worldbuilding and general storytelling on the characters and their development. Like, the magic most of the time doesn't really make any sense (or only if you don't pay attention) and sometimes random new things will just happen, except it's actually not that random, it's just that the character needed to be in a specific situation and/or make a specific decision, and so they were put in that situation, or it was for symbolism. Like, I have so much respect for authors that put a lot of effort and thought intomaking the worldbuilding or magic make sense and all, but personally i love stories for the characters, and I can't care less for stories with great magic systems that don't mean anything because the characters only exist for the exposition. Like, I love love love thinking back to when some teens went into a cave and made a bunch of animal skeletons come to life and then contemplating how they came out of the cave changed as people and we never talk about the skeletons again and it never happens again (TRC), or how some teens were dueling with swords on top of a tower in the backyard of their school and then some teens just drove cars around the duel (RGU) and contemplating on the symbolism of the scene.
I don't know if this makes sense but these are peak character driven storylines to me. I eat them up and dream about them when I finally manage to go to sleep.
If anyone knows any more stories told like this please comment I need more
am I going insane or is forest by system of a down literally cabeswater talking to adam parrish
Okay but like, The Raven Cycle and like every other YA book out there has given me such unrealistic friendship expectations that I'm bound to be alone forever. I will most likely die by being crushed by my own bookshelf. What a way to go.
looking for content on a series you haven’t finished and accidentally getting spoiled:
Sweet pynch for our souls
I love them too much ah oh🥴💕
request from my instagram stories
“Why do we always have to talk about my shit life hm? Mr tell me a fcking secret!”
“Don’t try to make me feel stupid! Who wips out repugnant?”
“How come we never talk about your fucked up family? With your death-eater brother and your insane cousin.”
“This is the way I talk, I’m sorry your father never taught you the meaning of repugnant.”
“No I know, how about we talk about your mother.”
“He was to busy smashing you head against the wall of your trailer while you apologised for being alive”
love LOVE love the rise in trc posts after the announcement of the graphic novel I'm going FERAL over every picture at this point
Starting my mandatory yearly TRC reread and noticed something:
"Picturing six-year-old Blue in love was such a far-off thing as to be imaginary."
"Blue had sat watch with her mother for the past ten St. Marks' Eves, but tonight felt different."
Blue found out about her curse at six years old! And she has been working as a mirror/amplifier since the same age. Obviously fortunes and psychics have been her world since birth, but it seems like such a young age to start carrying that. I would love to see art of toddler during St. Marks' Eve...
