Ralph was sitting on the ocean’s edge, where the ocean and the land meet, and he fiddled with the conch.
Piggy and Simon walked over to where Ralph sat, sitting across from him, on the sand.
“Guys.. Can I ask you something?” Ralph asked, staring at the water.
Piggy nodded and Simon spoke up, “Yeah. What’s up?”
Ralph stopped fiddling with the conch and looked up. “Be honest, please.”
Piggy raised an eyebrow and cleaned his glasses off. “Honest about what?” he asked, frowning
Ralph handed Simon the conch as he stood up to pace in a small circle. “Am I… A bad leader…? Because nobody seems to listen to me except for you two. The rest listen to Jack.”
Simon and Piggy exchanged a glance and Simon stood up.
“Don't think that way, Ralph.”
Ralph raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
“You’re such a good chief, Jack’s just a jerk.” Simon said, and Piggy nodded enthusiastically
Piggy stood up as Simon handed back the conch to Ralph.
Piggy pointed at Ralph’s chest. “Your kindness and compassion makes you a good leader. Despite you wanting to fit in, you’re still kind and compassionate”
Ralph had to wipe his eyes to hide his tears, “You two mean that?”
Piggy and Simon nodded.
“Always.” Simon said, smiling
“Forever.” Piggy added, hugging Ralph
