Currently watching: Mob Psycho Season 3

Guys I'm so late to this party, but Mob is so good!!!!!!!!!! I seriously just can't with this show, it's just so sweet! I absolutely love how Reigen recontextualizes how we all have worth and that it takes each of us to contribute to create a good society.

A lot of Shonen are about competition, wanting to be the best, as well as beating yourself up for not being enough. And while there are lots of mangas and animes that I love that use these tropes, I find Mob's take on how we can live life and our role in this world so refreshing and wonderful.

Currently reading: I'm reading a bunch of ML fanfics at the moment. Some of the ones that left a big impression on me were;

Currently obsessed with: Getting to know myself better

This may sound like a weird thing to be obsessed with, but when I was studying art, I felt so behind. Everyone was incredibly good at drawing and I felt that I had so much to learn and improve on. So rather than building a balanced lifestyle that included art as well as my other interests I found myself constantly thinking that if I had time for anything I should draw to get better. That really made me forget what was actually fun for me outside of drawing. I want to emphasize that I absolutely love drawing, but I think there is so much more to life than that. Especially as a creative person, we bring so many of our personal experiences into our art, so having an interest outside of art is incredibly valuable. So over the past three years, I've tried to really find answers to questions like "What truly brings me joy?" and "Who am I". Currently some of these things are reading and taking dance classes. Dance, in particular, has been instrumental in helping me escape the constant stream of thoughts in my mind. Like most artists, I experience moments of imposter syndrome, accompanied by unkind self-talk. However, dance serves as a powerful tool to ground me in the present moment. Going back to my first ever post about Ashley, here’s a little snippet of everyday life when Alec leaves his baby alone with his dorm mates and sister. 😆

My family lost it when they saw this comic! Lmao 🤣

But I believe introductions are in order…

The one calling Alec is his sister, Carol, who loves Alec dearly and her new niece. Although, even if Ashley isn’t old enough to even start crawling yet, she’s still a handful. 😅 it’s a good thing that she sleeps most of the time but a part of Carol is dreading when they can’t take her to the daycare on days when they all have classes. She just hopes the dorms are still standing when they get back.

The pink haired girl is Bierce, she try’s to be an edgy kind of person, but she is really just a big sister-mother hen figure who is like the voice of reasoning in their group.

The one running to get a fire extinguisher is Ritchie. The second he learned his best friend’s baby could potentially kill all of them if they are not careful, he took every precaution for both fires, and more baby proofing things than necessary. He’s basically the one who you will always find stressing and worrying over something. But these silly little things he has normally worried about, mostly all circle around Ashley now. And Ashley, in her little baby mind, finds this man screaming and freaking out absolutely hilarious. So of course she’s going to give him the most hardest time.

And then there’s Davis. He mostly takes naps during the day because other than Alec, he has the most classes. So when Alec isn’t home, you will mostly find Ashley napping on Davis’s chest as they sleep on the couch together. I don’t think anyone has ever seen his face other than Alec, he’s been best friends with Alec since before he finally got a permanent home with Carol in high school. Davis wants to be that cool Funcle (fun uncle) figure for Ashley, although maybe he will let her get away with too much…

Working my way through the mending pile

Villain had never seen Hero look so crestfallen before, and if their chest already didn't hurt from running like a mad person and jumping over rooftops to get to Hero, it definitely did hurt now. It hurt like hell.

Villain wanted to say something, anything, and if only Hero looked up at their face instead of staring at the cold stone floor, they would have seen how desperate Villain was to make them believe that they meant it... that they meant every word when they said that they would help Hero.

"Hero... I, I really did mean it when I said that I'd come."

Hero finally looked up at them, just as Villain had wished, but all Villain was shown were soulless eyes and lips in a thin line. Be careful what you wish for ran around in a loop inside Villain's head.

"Then why?" Hero asked and Villain could hear the unsaid words hanging heavily in the air.

Then why didn't you come?

The truth was, Villain was being obstructed by Supervillain's henchmen and fighting all of them off alone proved to be a difficult task. If this was just a normal fight, Villain wouldn't have minded getting themselves hurt, but no, there was nothing normal about this, they had a far more important job to do (to protect the Hero), so they had to be in top shape .

Villain sighed, their mind having figured out whom they had to protect the Hero from. Villain was scared, and maybe more hopeless about this situation than Hero was currently, but no one had to know that.

Protecting hero was much more important than their own fear of the Supervillain.

They offered Hero a hand, eyes soft.

"Come on Hero, get up. I'm here now, and I'm planning to keep my promise."

I'll definitely keep it this time .
