You know the song "I'm Not Sorry for Loving You" from EPIC?
I was scrolling through Tumblr and found a post about Lucy Stillman, where it was talking about her backstory and how she did care about Desmond and his well-being (You might see where I'm going with this). While reading it I couldn't help but think about the song when Calypso sings her song to Odysseus and how despite what she put him through for 7 years on her island trying to make him fall in love with her. I couldn't help but think that song would fit Lucy pretty well actually. Like she did care for him and Desmond seemed to be interested in her. But after it was revealed she was a traitor and Desmond was forced to stab her, I feel like Lucy in the end didn't regret caring for Desmond and the only thing she regretted was getting swept up with the templars and Abstergo.
But the main point is that I can ABSOLUTELY see Lucy singing "I'm Not Sorry for Loving You" đâ¤ď¸

Calypso becoming a hunter would make way more sense than Reyna doing so
She was basically doomed to fall in love with any strange man who appeared on the island
She had to choose between losing everything she loved in order to escape her punishment.
What Calypso needs is a sense of family and connection, something the huntresses provide.
She can give up being a hunter at any time
She could get to know new places and different things as a hunter.
Reyna becoming a hunter feels very shallow on Rick's part

Annabeth: ho right, you don't know. A sexuality is what you are attracted to or when or how or who to people.

Percy: so Leo, what is your sexuality?
Leo: everyone, I am aromantic asexual.
Calypso & Hazel: what does it mean?
Leo: aromantic means you experience little to no romantic attraction, and asexual means you experience little to no sexual attraction. Its a spectrum, in my case I don't feel any romantic or sexual attraction to people.
Hazel: oh, thanks for the explanation.
Reyna: but what about all the times that you flirted with people?
Leo: oh that time I just confused other kinds of attraction as romantic one.
Reyna: oh, alright.
Jason: and don't worry Leo, we except you just the way you are.
Leo: thank you Jason.

In a nutshell...
Death
After being in the Tartarus, Nico was really anxious, when he was alone he yearned for human connection.
In the day was easy, the Mediterranean sun heating his skin, the bright blue sky, holding Hazel's hand, in the night, it was hard, they weren't enough rooms, and he can't go to Percy nor Annabeth's, the little room they gave him was small, triggering the memories of the jar in Rome.
Because of that, he was, most of the nights, in the mast, the sea smell calming him, so different from the toxic Tartarus air.
In the nights, he and Leo started to converse, it was easy, and the boy's voice calmed him, he knew when Nico wants to listen and when to talk.
After Eros, Jason tag along too, and the three of them enjoyed the company of each other.
When Leo died, Jason and Nico became closer, sharing activities in Camp Half-Blood, talking about temples, gods, and aesthetics.
They searched together for Leo, and, when Jason took the decision to study in Pasadena, Nico almost enters the school too.
Later, when Leo, Calypso, and Apollo departed, a bad feeling burned in the chest of Nico, Will, worried, advise to follow his guts, but Nico can't, not knowing what was going to happen.
But he dreamed, the night Caligula killed Jason, he woke up, sweaty and teary, shocked.
He felt the death of Leo, but, thanks to the physician cure, he didn't see his soul been judged in the underworld, the absence of his life like a hole on his chest.
Maybe, he thought, when his father spoke about unavoidable deaths, he was talking about Octavian and Leo, but, perhaps the Fates decided someone of the seven had to die, the storm or the fire, and, by the trick of Leo, he had doomed Jason.
The son of Hephaestus went back to Camp Half-Blood, tired, his eyes gloomy, destroyed, as he had the same realization that Nico, he caused Jason's death.
Nico hugged him, whispering sweet words to the boy, talking about Elysium, and the promise to talk to Jason's ghost, at least to say goodbye.

Like the statistics they share between them đ Iâd like to think theyâre recovering but theyâre always getting into some bullshit youâd have to really fuck around to find out LMAO

Reyna & Jason (Grace) - I know she moved on to the hunters and I donât necessarily ship them but I find them so tragic likeâŚJason is a closeted gay to me but even then I always felt like the love and respect he had for Reyna just sort of vanished at some point in HoO?? Like they never interacted meaningfully in the series even though weâre told theyâre supposed to be so close and the erasure just feels sinister. The betrayal she felt was so justified and they kinda made her look petty for it!!
Like the love of her life and lowkey situationship just came back with a random gf. The tension - the misunderstandings on both parties - and if there was a reveal that he could never have loved either of them in the way they wanted??!! Crazy. Like yes Jason was her best friend and greatest love - but he wasted crucial years of her life letting her agonising over something that couldâve never been. But at the same time the duty she represented, the unwavering esteem she held him to & the expectations of those around them that crushed him meant Jason could never really tell her. I think they wouldâve had a lot of complicated feelings I wish they unpacked đ
Dick x Artemis - like every night. Iâm awake and I just. Canât sleep. Theyâre chemistry- haunts. Itâs like the equivalent of the internalised homophobia tag to me. Iâve been conditioned to hate friends to lovers for so long and unlearning it has made me reevaluate how I feel about other ships I dismissed earlier. Like damn maybe I actually fucked with this on the low I just didnât have the language to express that đ
Harry x Luna - yeah so this is my canon. I never talk about them because theyâre sacred to me in a way I canât handle others criticising PLEASE DONT ASK ME ABOUT THEM (I wonât shut up)

Can we please stop making unwanted, antagonistic rivalries between Percy and the people he genuinely cares about? It's getting tiresome.
Like, some of y'all act like Percy killed Bianca and then laughed in Nico's face with how much part of the fandom likes to act like Percy doesn't care. They'll talk about how he said that he wanted to cut Nico's 'stupid head off,' like he would ever actually do that. Like the same guy who hesitated to harm Luke when he was possessed by Kronos would actually follow through on what was a visceral reaction to betrayal when Percy knew that people's lives were on the line. Like he didn't spend months and months of searching for Nico, concerned for his safety. Like he didn't hide his parentage, wanting to make sure that the other campers didn't treat him differently as a son of Hades. Like he didn't steel his resolve to be the one to fulfill the prophecy so Nico wouldn't be in more danger than necessary. Like he didn't introduce Nico when he first appears in Percy's dream in the Last Olympian as 'My friend, Nico.'
And then there's Leo. And sure, Leo was angry at Percy at first because Calypso thought he had abandoned her to her fate, and that was the side of the story that Leo heard. But some people act like he actually did so, ignoring the fact that he made the gods promise on the River Styx to free her, something that they were then bound to do. And then he was kidnapped and put to sleep for months with his memories wiped. Where on earth would he have had the time to ensure they kept their promise? Even Leo, who still didn't know the whole story, essentially went, "Damn you, you're impossible to stay mad at." Yes, they had a rocky start, but they do form a genuine friendship.
And Will. While I think it be cool to explore how Will felt during the second Titan war, and all the angst that came with it, I don't think he'd blame Percy for Michael's death. Perhaps at first, or maybe even as a little voice in the back of his head, but that isn't going to stop him caring about the campers, Percy included. Y'all act like he wouldn't chain Percy to an infirmary bed if he learned just how many times Percy has had suicidal thoughts or feelings.
as I reread and annotate my own ideas of what was truly occuring in the odyssey, I've realized that odysseus had only been assaulted/co-erced forcefully because the lives of his men were held over his head, which was circe's doing. however, there was no mention of calypso assaulting of forcing odysseus to elope with her, and only that she had kept him on her island. however, this may just be the translations I'm reading and not a analytical problem to be expanded on.
'guys don't call odysseus a cheater' 'guys he was assaulted' 'guys he was imprisoned with his life over his head, what was he supposed to do?' are all valid points, but I can tell these people aren't aware of the fact that odysseus had sex slaves in the original homeric tales. he is a cheater, but that doesn't make him any less of an assault victim either.

I donât know how to explain this but Not Sorry For Loving You feels like that scene in Crimson Rivers in chapter 46 when (spoiler warning) James and Reg talk about Reg volunteering and they have the whole âso do Iâ moment. Like Reg isnât sorry for loving James in the way he does, which manifests as him volunteering. Idk if this makes any sense but I just put the song on repeat and read the chapter and it fit really well
