Masterslist-
Would clean you up
Would confidently reassure you of your worth.
You have been feeling overwhelmed recently; you boyfriend has been busy, you have been alone, and you’ve been not feeling your worth.
You don’t know what’s overcame you, you were preparing food for the two of you, when you got an urge you haven’t got in years.. you wanted to cut..
You walked into your shared room and went to your case that you kept you blade in; you never got rid of it for some odd reason…
You went into the bathroom, and slid down the door staring at the razor. You just sat there looking at it for a little; you weren’t sure if you actually wanted to go through with this.
You opened your leg and began to make 5 horizontal lines on your inner thigh, you used a small amount of force, but it still broke your skin.
You cleaned the blade, then sat it on the counter. You then sat on the toilet seat, opening your legs so you could see. You began to cry quietly as you tried to stop the bleeding.
Kyojuro had just gotten home from work, he saw the dinner on the table, but he didn’t see you. He smiled as he walked into the room, seeing the bathroom door shut. He opened the door and walked in to see you crying with your leg bleeding. He looked at the counter seeing the razor, then he looked at you.
“What’s wrong dear?” He spoke softly as he grabbed the wraps and ointment from under the counter, he crouched down infront of you. He began to softly apply the ointment, you gasped quietly. He looked up at you with sorrow in his eyes, he wrapped your leg tight (he has done this before, he knows how you like it.) before placing soft kisses on you thigh. “I’m sorry Kyojuro… I just didn’t feel good enough…” you whispered feeling tears stream down your face as you looked him into the eyes. He sighed placing his hand on your neck, placing a soft kiss on your lips feeling tears form in his eyes, “it’s okay dear… no more please…” he whispered once the two of you pulled away.
You nodded you head sniffling, “I won’t.. i promise..” you whispered. He smiled at you standing up, “let’s go in the bed dear.” You nodded, as you felt him left you, and place you in the bed gently. He then turned to go into the bathroom, he sighed as he grabbed the razor on the counter.
He threw the razor in the trash, before walking out the room to go in the kitchen. He grabbed both of your food and drinks, walking back to the room. He placed your food and drink on the table, before kissing you the head.
“You’re so worth it baby, never leave me.”
Would rush to save you
Would comfort you, while giving you love.
(Suicide attempt) not intentionally
Your family didn’t give a shit about you, so when Tengen came and asked if you could be his wife, they gave you away with zero hesitation. He could tell you were being mistreated, he wanted to save you.
It’s been a year since, you have worked in the corps since. You are very reserved and kind, so when the wives want tengens attention, you don’t care to stop them. Tengen gave you your own room, knowing that you would be more comfortable there.
Tengen and the wives went out earlier, so you were all alone. You have always self harmed; you have so many scars from yourself. Today was rough, so you turned to the only thing you ever knew…
The cold metal somewhat soothed you, when it went across your upper arm. You used a little more force than you wanted, so you had to hurry up and stop the apparent bleeding. You dropped the razor and rushed out of your room to the bathroom holding your arm.
When you were in the hallway, the door swung open. You immediately heard tengen’s voice boomed through the small house you owned. You rushed to get to the bathroom, but it was too late. “Love..?” Tengen spoke looking at you down the hallway.
You turned to face him, with blood running down your arm and in between your fingers. “Oh love..” was all you heard before everything went black.
Tengen rushed to you, picking you up. He ran out the door without further words, he ran to the butterfly mansion faster than he ever has. The whole time he couldn’t help but wonder, why you couldn’t talk to them… he loved you so much, it would kill him if you died…
You slowly regained consciousness on the run there, “Tengen..?” You rasped out. He looked down at you with a smile, “you’re going to be okay babe..” he spoke as he ran faster.
When you got to the butterfly mansion, shinobu fixed you up, with a sad look on her face. Tengen sat beside you holding onto your hand rubbing circles in your hand, he would feel himself get sadder at each wince and hiss that came from you.
When shinobu was done he slid a bed that was beside you to push the two of your beds together, he grabbed a blanket that was left in the room, and laid beside you placing the blanket on the two of you.
“You scared the shit out of me love..” he whispered looking over at you. “I’m so sorry Tengen.. that’s the last thing I wanted…” you spoke as you turned your back to him; feeling ashamed in your actions.
“It’s fine babe, just don’t do it again please..” he whispered as he wrapped his arms around your waist to pull you closer.
“You mean the world to me, you’re not allowed to die.”
Would slightly lecture you
Would feel ashamed for not realizing.
You haven’t always had a self harm issue, honestly it didn’t cross your mind until you accidentally cut yourself trying to repair injured members of the demon slayer corp. that one cut was the beginning of hell…
Shinobu has yet to find out about your issue, but you’re good at hiding it. You only do it when you feel pain, but it’s becoming more frequent. Shinobu was treating a patient, so you decided to use your bathroom for the first time.
After placing a few lines on your upper arms, you sat the razor down content. You began to try to clean yourself up, but shinobu already opened the door and saw what happened.
She stood there with wide eyes before gently grabbing your wrist, she pulled you all the way to medical room. She sat you on a bed as she began to examine and clean your new cuts, she felt her heart shatter noticing all the previous cuts. She was ashamed.. how could she be so oblivious…
She has yet to confess her feelings for you, so this all took you by surprise. “You shouldn’t be doing this to yourself..” she spoke calmly, as she began to wrap your left arm. “I know… I don’t know why I can’t stop..” you whispered looking down.
When she was done wrapping your right arm she lifted your head so your eyes met, “please stop doing this to yourself… if not for yourself… f-for me..” she stuttered slightly, feeling vulnerable. You felt tears stream down your face as you nodded your head, she leaned down and connected your lips for the first time; fireworks is an understatement.
“As long as your mine, you won’t do this to yourself, I refuse to allow it.”
Would cry and pray for you
Would carry you to shinobu and stay by your side the whole time.
Would kiss your scars
Gyomei has always been hesitant to let people in, but you changed that. You loved the man since you felt his presence. You have a heightened sense for auras, his was so kind, you felt drawn to him immediately.
Though gyomei can’t see, he is fully able to tell when something is wrong, especially when it comes to your cutting. He has helped you before, each time he cries, prays, and kisses your scars. You hurting yourself, hurts him.
You were going through another episode, you’ve been working so hard recently, that you began to beat yourself up when things didn’t pan out how you expected. You had already cut, you were cleaning your scars, while crying as quietly as possible, trying not to alert the sleeping man.
“Another episode love?” He asked as he wondered into the bathroom with you, you sighed sniffling, “yes..” he walked right to you and began to finish the job for you. He began to wrap your arm, gently. “What happened love? What’s going on in that pretty head of yours.” He spoke as he continued wrapping.
“I just get so upset with my mistakes.. I know I shouldn’t, but I can’t help it…” you whispered looking down feeling more tears stream down your face. He kisses your wrapped scars before coming up to kiss you, “you are going to make mistakes beautiful, it’s only human nature. Don’t harm yourself over something that can be fixed, we will fix it together tomorrow, okay?” He spoke before gently placing a soft kiss on your lips.
“Okay Mei.. can we go back to bed..” you whispered wrapping your arm around his neck. He chucked before lifting you up to take you to the bed, he laid you gently in the bed before he came behind you. He stroked your scars as he held you until you fell asleep.
“Please Buddha.. protect her.” (Not sure if that’s how the prayers work, I’m trying😭)
Would cry and cuddle you
Would take extra precaution with wrapping your arm.
Mitsuri has always been known to a caring and loving girl, when she met you that only amplified. When she laid eyes on you she knew you were the one she wanted to be with for the rest of her life, and honestly you felt the same.
She doesn’t know about your history with self harm, growing up with Urokodaki, you were an orphan. You watched your family get picked off slowly by other clans, they all died trying to protect you. You get flashbacks and sometimes you feel like you shouldn’t have been the one that survived.
You were in the bathroom with tears streaming down your face as you went on to you 6th line on your skin, you were so caught up in the act that you didn’t even notice Mitsuri walk in.
What she saw made her heart drop; she has never felt so broken. “Baby! Please stop! Put it down!” She sobbed as she ran over to you, you gasped dropping the blade at the sudden noise. You looked up at her with wide eyes as she picked up the blade and ran away with it, when she came back she had bandage wraps and ointment to help your cute heal.
She sobbed as she was sure to be extra careful when she was cleaning and wrapping your arm, “you’re so delicate love… your arms.. your skin is too beautiful to be damaged like this…” she spoke as she placed her hand on your cheek feeling tears stream down her face.
You felt tears come down your own face as you leaned down to kiss the woman, she helped you strip of your clothes, then strip of her own. She turned the shower on to warm water, as she pulled your wrap back off, so it didn’t get wet.
She pulled you in the shower and just held you for a while, seeing that was extremely scary for her.. she just needed to feel you alive.. You placed soft kisses on her upper chest and neck trying to soothe the girl, “I’m so sorry you had to see that baby… I won’t do it ever again..” you spoke in between kisses.
“Please don’t ever.. I can’t live without you… who’s gonna buy my mochi.” She pouted as she began to wash both of your bodies.
Would silently wrap your arm with a stoic face
Would just hug you
Later on would reassure you that he can’t live without you and that you’re the world to him.
Giyuu is known to be reserved, but with you he’s completely different… he is talkative, he is caring, he can even be very affectionate at times. He’s the love of your life, you wouldn’t have it any other way.. you still struggle though.. you still have you personal demons.
When you were little your parents were killed, and the demon that killed them made fun of you. He told you, you would never amount to anything and that you were worthless, it’s stuck with you ever since…
You haven’t cut in so long, but after the mission where Kyojuro died, you had flashbacks. The demon that killed Kyojuro was the demon that killed your parents, he saw you and he remembered all the torment, before he left he was sure to remind you of his words.
Once you got home, you ran to the bathroom of your home and pulled out your blade. You lived alone, so you didn’t have to worry about getting caught. You made a few cuts, feeling relief. You sighed and began to clean your arm, you were too busy cleaning up the blood that you didn’t even notice Giyuu.
He turned you around and sat you down on the toilet, he silently placed the ointment on your wrist before he began to wrap it. He had a stoic face the whole time, you couldn’t tell if he was upset or angry with you.
“I’m sorry..” you whispered when he was done. He simply pulled you up and wrapped his arms around your waist, he said nothing, he just hugged you before stepping out of the room for a moment.
You sighed, feeling tears steam down your face, as you walked to your bed. You crawled under the covers, sobbing silently under the covers. Giyuu came back into the room, and slid under the covers. “I’m sorry I just walked out.. You mean the world to me… I can’t live without you… please never do this to yourself again..” he spoke as he brought your wrist to his mouth so he could place soft kisses on your wrist.
“I love you so much babe”
Would get slightly angry
Would mutter to himself while cleaning your wounds
Would later give you a lot of affection
Sanemi is known to have a temper, you know you can come to him with everything, but you never knew how he’d react to cutting. You rarely do it, but when you do it can get bad. You’ve tried to not make it a hobby, but when things get rough, there’s not a second thought that goes through your head.
Sanemi was outside training some poor trainees, while you were in the bathroom that the two of you shared. Today was really rough, so you cut all over… you cut both arms and both legs, crying the whole time. It wasn’t enough to make you bleed profusely, but it left a mark..
“Baby..?” Sanemi spoke as he turned the corner. You gasped and tried to cover yourself as you threw away the razor, “why are you bleeding?” He spoke as he pushed you down on the toilet to examine you.
You couldn’t bring yourself to speak, but you didn’t have to, he wasn’t dumb. He huffed before grabbing the correct tools to take care of you, he brought out something to stitch you up with, some of your scars were deep.
After a lot of angry muttering and a lot of precaution, he was done. He got it up and left the room abruptly when he was finished, you stood up to began cleaning up the mess you left behind when he comes back around the corner, “get out here.” He spoke as he went into the bathroom to take your place cleaning the ground.
You walked out to the living room and wrapped a blanket around you, when Sanemi came back he placed you in his lap. “I’m sorry I got so angry.. I can’t stand to see you do this to yourself.. please no more…” he pleaded looking down at you in his chest.
You nodded snuggling your head into his neck,
“I promise.”
Would wrap you arm emotionless
Would comfort you when he was finished; feeling deep sorrow.
Obanai is not new at wrapping up scars; he has his own scar that he hides from everyone daily. When he got with you, you were a very depressed individual. You never knew your worth, because society hated you… you were seen as a monster in your village, you were discriminated against so much..
He has always stayed near you because of this, but one day you had to go back alone.. you were going through your old village to get home; trying to keep a low profile. You almost made it through without any issues, until an middle aged man recognized you from when he was a kid.
“Hey.. it’s that freak! Everyone look who came back to town! Your special hashira found out you were nothing special?” The man spat out as a small crowd began to form around you.
You felt everything at once, so you pushed past the crowd and began running, you ran till you made it all the way home.
When you arrived home you looked at the blade of your knife as you sat on the porch.. you slowly brought the blade across your skin, hissing at the feeling. You went to go again, when an arm reached out and stopped you. He pulled the knife away, and picked you up.
He brought you into the house, and sat you on the kitchen counter. He began to apply ointment being sure to be extra careful, he has yet to say anything, or even have any emotions.
When he was finished wrapping your hand, he walked away from you and began to clean your knife that now had your blood on it. You jumped down and hugged him from behind, “thank you bani..” you whispered.
“Don’t do it again please.. I heard about what happened at the village.. nothing they said was true, and it never will be.” He spoke quietly.
He unwrapped his own wrap around his mouth to place a kiss on your lips,
“You’re so precious to me dear.. never do that again..”

He has always looked out for you
He always makes sure you’re fed.
He gave you a home.
He has risked his life for you many times before.
You were raised by descends of the moon, your parents were high ranked demon slayers who slayed a lot of demons together. Due to them slaying so many demons they’ve always been on the run with you, but they were aware that they could only run so far before it caught up to them. You were soundly sleeping one night when you heard glass shattering, you shot up from your sleep suddenly aware of the danger. You got up quietly and walked out of your room, what you saw horrified you. You saw your mother attacking your father looking like a demon, you let out a scream and ran outside. Though your parents prepared you for their death, they never taught you how to survive through it. You felt a quick gust of wind then silence in your house, you slowly started walking back to your house. When you walked in you saw a tall man with yellow and orange hair standing over your parents, “Sir..” you spoke quietly peaking your head from behind your door. “Hello child! I am the flame hashira Kyojuro Rengoku! Do you know these people?” He asked with a small grin turning to face you, “they are my parents..” you spoke looking down feeling tears run down your cheeks. “Chin up little one, you can come with me!” He spoke with a closed eye smile.
You were 11 when that happened; you are now 16. You’ve been the moon hashira for two years with the help of Kyojuro. He allowed you to stay with him and his brother while he helped you enhance your skills, with the help of letters your parents left behind you were able to learn how to become the moon hashira. “(Y/n)! Senjuro! Dinner is done!” Kyojuro yelled from the kitchen. The two of you raced down the hall to get his food; he was a good cook. Kyojuro stood at the counter with his apron on with a closed eye smile, “Eat up guys!”
He takes his time to train you
He always feeds you after training.
He gave you your own space at his home.
He gets overprotective.
You are the flame Hashira, you took the position once your brother Kyojuro died to Akaza. You’ve since held a grudge against demons, which is why you took after his spot. Senemi has been a big help on your success, whenever you aren’t with Senjuro, you are with him training or hanging out. He’s aware of your situation and he tries his best to help you. “It’s time to train, are you ready?” Sanemi approaching you, you nodded standing up from the place you were sitting. You were having a rough day today because of your “father” he’s still in his grief.
You were sloppy, and Sanemi didn’t fail to notice it, “you’re sloppy today kid, what’s up?” He asked swinging his sword toward you, you dodged you attack while responding, “it’s nothing.” You spoke trying to focus more. “Do you need to stay with me tonight?” He asked trying to swipe your feet from under you, you jumped up flipping over his body to hit him with the sword, “Yes please.” You spoke backing away from the fight.
Sanemi prepared dinner for the two of you, you enjoyed his cooking quite a bit. “Thank you Sanemi-San!” You spoke happier now with food, “no worries kid, now tell me what had you so sloppy earlier.” He spoke giving you a “stern” look. “It’s just my father, that’s all.” You spoke looking down at your food, “if things ever get too bad you know you can stay with me, right?” He asked patting your head as he put away his plate. “I know, thank you Sanemi-San!” You spoke with a bright smile, greatful for the wind hashira.
He is serious, but funny.
His wives are sure to send you home with food.
They are sure to make you feel at home.
He gets very serious when it comes to you.
“You have to be more flamboyant!” Tengen spoke as the two of you were training together, he’s your favorite Hashira to hang around with, him and his wives helped make you feel accepted. “I feel like you’re projecting.” You spoke with a laugh striking him with your sword softly. “I feel like you’re about to lose with a boom.” He spoke with a smirk as he threw one of his beads toward you, you were quick to deflect it and use a move of your own. “Moon breathing 6th form: Crescent boom!” You spoke moving at a quick rate to connect your attack, it wasn’t strong enough to hurt anyone, so Tengen was willing to let you try it on him. “It’s getting better kid! 50 more times and you’ll start doing significant damage.” He spoke jokingly already starting to feel the effects of the attack, “Let’s go get some food.” He spoke patting your head.
You sat at a table with Tengen and his wives, “Thank you so much!” You spoke to all of his wives grateful for the food, Tengen knew that you’ve never really had a stable home, your father is always coming and going and your mother is dying of an illness. “Do you want to stay with us tonight dear?” Hinatsuru asked with gentle grin. “I must go take care of my mother, but I appreciate the offer!” You spoke with a smile. “We will send her home with food, don’t worry.” Makio spoke before continuing to eat. Tengen just smiled at the scene, he’s always looked at you as his younger sister, to see you getting along with his wives is a plus. “Well, I should be going now, I don’t want to keep my mom waiting.” You spoke beginning to clean up after yourself, the wives made you several plates while Tengen gave you a bracelet on your way out, “here, that way you always have me even when I’m not there.” He spoke handing you the bracelet with a smile. You felt a tear roll down your face as you accepted the gift, “thank you Tengen-San, truly” you said before throwing yourself in his chest, unable to control your emotions. He was your big brother; he will always be with you.
She took you in once she lost her sister
She teaches you in grave detail.
She insists on you staying with her
She tries to treat you like an adult.
“Can I have the bandages over there?” Shinobu asked you once she was finished with Zenitsu’s wounds. “Okay!” You spoke with a smile glad to help her. Shinobu has been with you since you joined the demon slayer core, when her sister died she became a completely different person, she saw that I was in danger and she helped me. My father was an abusive drunk who would beat you, your mother was nowhere to be seen, the only thing left of her was a journal she left you on how to use your family’s breathing style. Shinobu helped you go through that book, and helped you learn how to use your breathing to the fullest. You’ve stayed with her since she brought you in, she’s very much like a sister you never had.
“Healing is an art, you just have to perfect it.” Shinobu spoke as she began to teach you how to use medicine, on top of her teaching you your breathing style. “Can we have a break Shinobu-Kan! We’ve been at this for so long, I’m so hungry!” You whined laying your head the table the two of you worked at, “I suppose, go to your room and get cleaned up, then we can eat.” She spoke with a gentle smile standing up.
Once you were done you shared the evening with the girls at the butterfly mansion not wishing to change a thing, these girls were your sisters, you would never trade them for the world.
She takes you for her favorite dessert religiously
She always has your back with fashion.
She always defends you
She taught you how to achieve you greatest strength.
“Hey! Leave her alone you little shit!” Mitsuri yelled at one of the lower ranked demon slayer bashing you, most think that you killed your parents for their spot, almost everyone resents you. “She’s the one who killed her-“ the kid didnt get to finished before he was grabbed by the shirt and pulled up by Mitsuri, “finish that sentence, I dare you.” At this point the pink haired girl was fuming, she knew what happened to your parents and it was far more sinister than that, one of the upper rank demons came into your house and killed your parents right infront of you. “I’m sorry! Please forgive me!” The boy yelled sobbing in the air. Mitsuri threw the boy on the ground still angry, “come on (y/n), I’ll treat you to some Sakura Mochi!” She spoke with a closed eye smile. You simply nodded walking with the pink haired girl.
“I’m sorry for what that kid said to you, you know it’s not true right?” She spoke trying to reassure you, you could only nod, though you know it’s not your fault it’s not easy dealing with the treatment you receive. “We can get you a new Haori while we are out! Maybe something that fits you more.” She spoke trying to get some conversation out of you, “maybe.” You shrugged, though you appreciated the effort, it was still hard as ever. “You know, you can achieve you greatest strength by thinking about all those who look down on you, you will see how much better it makes you feel.” She spoke genuinely patting your head, “Thank you Mitsuri! I will always think about that in a fight!” You spoke attempting to bring your spirits up.
After the two of you shared some of her favorite dessert the both of you walked around the district trying to find you something cute, you’ve always had a crush on Senjuro and you’ve been thinking about making a move, Mitsuri has been a great help, “look! Do you think he would like that one Suri?” You asked pointing at a beautiful pink Haori. “He’d be dumb not to.” She spoke dragging you in asking for your size; she has always been the big sister you needed in life.
He actually speaks to you.
You help him realize his worth and vice versa.
He feeds you.
He supports you regardless.
“It’s time to eat kid.” Giyuu spoke walking outside to see you sitting alone, “okay, I’ll be there in a second.” You spoke still not facing him. “Hey, what’s wrong kid.” He spoke sitting down beside you, noticing something was off. You looked at him with tears going down your face, “I’m not worthy of taking my mothers place as moon hashira, I will never amount to who she was.” It has been years since your mothers death, but since she died protecting you, you’ve always taken it hard. “She would be proud of the woman you are, you’ve grown to be such a skilled moon hashira.” He spoke patting your head, “now come on, let’s eat.” He spoke with a smile.
The two of you sat at the table talking about your new crush, Kanao. “What about how the others will feel!” You yelled feeling scared, he simply shook his head. “It shouldn’t matter how others feel, if you feel happy, go for it.” He spoke as he began to clean up his food. “Thank you Giyuu.” You spoke finishing the food he made for the two of you, “you’re welcome kid, you know I’d always support you.”
[this one is a little short, but I felt like it was sweet]
He tries his best to teach you
He takes you under his wing
He always pats your head to let you know he’s proud of you.
You have always been around the Stone Hashira since you can remember, Gyomei has always been good with kids, and you were always there since your father was the moon hashira. He always trusted Gyomei because he can tell that he’s good with kids, you’ve always helped the man. You describe everything to him, “The sushi we are eating has raw fish: which is kinda pink and slimy, Rice: which is white and small, Avacodo; which is green and smooth, and seaweed; which is a dark green and crunchy.” He smiled picturing what he was eating as he ate it. “We have to go see the master after this, but after that we can go train.” He spoke as he stood up cleaning both of your plates.
“Stay right here, I’ll be out in a moment.” He spoke as he stepped in the masters room. “You’re finally not up the stone hashiras ass, what a surprise!” Some kid yelled at you laughing with his friends, you simply sat there unbothered by the behavior. “Hey! Are you deaf or something?” He asked walking closer to you. “Why would I acknowledge stupidity?” You asked looking at the boy approaching you. He finally stopped in your face, he was beginning to say something when he was interrupted “what is going on here?” Gyomei asked able to sense to hostility coming from the boys. “Nothing lord Gyomei!” They spoke in a hurry before running away, “let’s go kid, we got some training to do.” He spoke patting your head. You didn’t know if, but Gyomei was extremely proud to call you his sister.
His snake loves you
He teaches you how to blend in.
He takes his bandage off around you.
He likes to help you.
“You just have to be silent when you’re approaching someone, that’s the key.” Obanai was attempting to teach you how he blends in. You were a little distracted petting his snake though, “alright kid, give me my snake while you go get ready for dinner.” He spoke as he took the snake off your shoulders, you have lived with Obanai for a while now, he taught you mostly everything you know other than your family breathing style.
When you came out you saw Obanai eating with his bandage off. “Thank you Obanai!” You gleamed as you sat down beginning to eat. “How is it?” He asked wanting feedback; he gets very conscious of his food, especially when it comes to you. “It’s amazing! Did you do something different?” You asked noticing your sushi had a good kick to it that it never had before. “Yep! I added a little more spice, was it too much?” He asked a little worried he only made it to his standard. “It’s amazing like I said! You should go around without your bandage more often.” You spoke with a small smile hoping that you could change the boys mind on how he feels about himself. “It’s okay, it’s easier this way anyways.” He spoke looking down. “Okay if you say so! Speaking of, how has you and Mitsuri been? Did she like the socks you made her?” The man began blushing as he spilled every detail to you; he was glad he had a younger sister like you, you would always listen to him.
I’m so sorry if this was shitty! I hope you enjoyed!

He would cry while praying for your recovery.
He would wait in the corner scared to interfere with your care.
When the two of you are alone he would play his flute.
Excessive apologizing for not being there for you.
“You don’t have to sit that far.” Shinobu spoke to a crying Gyomei. He didn’t reply, he simply kept praying and crying. You were fully conscious, but you understood why he was doing what he was doing. “I’ll just be back tomorrow to change your wound.” Shinobu spoke with a smile. “Thank you so much!” You spoke smiling brightly at the insect hashira. “You can come closer babe.” You spoke to your boyfriend who was in the corner. “I’m so sorry I wasn’t there for you.. I should’ve been there to help..” he spoke as he dropped to his knees beside you placing his head on your hand crying. “Please don’t say such things babe, it’s okay, I promise.” You spoke running your hands through his hair.
Gyomei was playing his favorite tune with his flute, he was quite talented. “Why don’t you play more often?” You asked him as you admired him playing by the window. “I don’t want to bother others.” He spoke as he walked back over to your side. “Can I feel the wounds..?” He asked reaching his hand out. You grabbed his hand placing it on your sore wound, he softly rubbed it before placing a kiss on your head, “I’m going to go get home suited for you, I will be back soon.” He spoke placing another kiss on your lips.
Once you got your bandaged changed Gyomei carried you home, “I’m so sorry I wasn’t there..” he spoke lowly as he rubbed your hip. “It’s okay love, I’ve told you this already.” You spoke placing your head on his chest. “I know, I still feel deeply sorry.” He spoke as he walked into the house. “It’s okay baby, you’re here now, that’s all that matters.” You spoke placing small kisses on his chest.
This man would be a MESS
So would the wives
The wives would have to calm down Tengen so he didn’t invade their space as they worked on you; it didn’t work that well.
He would send his wives to get you food and clothes refusing to leave your side.
“Let me go!” Tengen yelled at his wives as he pushed himself in the room you are being treated in. “What’s happening!? Why is she bleeding!?” He yelled at Shinobu as she worked on stopping the bleeding. He ran to your side sobbing, “Shinobu! Please talk to me!” He yelled grabbing your hand. “She got attacked, I’m working on it!“ shinobu yelled back. The wives rubbed Tengen’s back attempting to comfort the sobbing man.
The wives and Tengen sat around your bed crying together once Shinobu was done, “She will be fine, I’ll be keeping her here for a couple days.” She spoke before exiting the room. Tengen sighed running his hands through your hair. “Alright.. Girls, go get some food and clothes for y/n so she can be more comfortable.” He spoke holding your hand. “Okay Tengen-Sama!” The wives spoke before hurrying out. “Please be okay..”
“Tengen.. what happened.. why are you crying..?“ you spoke once you woke up. Tengen snapped his head to you wiping his tears, “you got attacked dear, im so sorry I wasn’t there to help, I promise I will avenge you..” he spoke looking down. You picked his head up to place a kiss on his lips, “it’s okay my love, thank you for not leaving me.” You spoke as you slid over so he could lay beside you. “The girls are coming back with food and clothes, let’s just hope Sama wasn’t the one cooking.” The both of you laughed as he laid down with you.
He would patiently wait for them to be done; internally he was a mess.
He refuses to leave your side.
He would share close memories with you.
He would nurse you back to health.
Kyojuro was sat beside you as Kanae patched you up, he watched her every movement so he would know how to help you. He was a mess on the inside, he was blaming himself, wondering if things would be different if he was there. “She has minor injuries, she should wake up soon.” Kanae spoke before walking out the room.
When you woke up Kyojuro was writing a letter at your side. “Baby..?” You spoke quietly, Kyojuro looked up from his note and met your (e/c) eyes. “Hey babe, how are you feeling?” He asked with a bright smile. “I have a bad headache..” you spoke reaching out to him. He slid beside you giving you medicine and water, “here take some of this.” He spoke moving your hair out of your face.
When the time came for you to leave Kyojuro carried you home, “I will cook us dinner tonight! You can just rest dear!” He spoke with a big smile moving his head to the side to look at you. “I want to help you.” You pouted looking back into his bright eyes. “You’re hurt my love, you can watch from the counter, how about that?” He spoke opening the front door of the mansion the two of you shared. “Can i atleast help cut the food..?” You pleaded with your boyfriend giving the “puppy dog”eyes. He smiled before laughing loudly, “I guess, but no more you stubborn woman!”
She would be distraught.
The others would try to pull her away, but she wouldn’t have it.
She refuses to leave you.
She would be emotional.
“Kanae! Please let me help!” Shinobu screamed trying to get past the girls at the butterfly mansion as gently as possible. “Kaneo! Get her please!” Kaneo looked at the situation hesitant to go against her tsugoku, by time she could make a decision shinobu was by your side putting on gloves. She sniffles before getting to work.
“You should’ve just sat back as I told you!” Kanae scolded her younger sister outside of your room. She huffed in irritation before walking away. Shinobu rushed back into the room to be by your side, she ties your hair back before sliding beside you. “Do I look bad doc?” You tried to laugh, but it came out as a cough. Shinobu grinned before placing her hand on your forehead, “you don’t have bad injury’s, just a broken rib, nothing that won’t heal.. you have to be more careful.” She spoke softly, slightly scolding you. “I will, just for you.”
After the two sisters bickered for a little Kanae decided you could go back to your shared house that was on the butterfly property. She walked into the house, took off your shoes, then placed you at the dinning table. “You want coffee or tea?” She asked as she pulled out the cups. You smiled placing your head in your hands, “Tea please.. you know, I should get hurt more often. I like this treatment.” You spoke with a laugh as Shinobu shot a small glare at you. She had a temper, but she cared.

Gyomei had endured a long day of trekking through the woods, hunting a troublesome demon, before coming across the border of a village. He could hear children running among adults who Gyomei believed to be strong enough. There was a small twitch to his senses as he was welcomed into the village, he could overhear the mention of an orphanage. As the scent of a good meal invaded his nose he wished to check on the children, perhaps staying the night if granted permission. Gyomei felt the vibration of someone near, the beads around his neck clicking together as he moved. “Excuse me, I’m looking for the orphanage.” His voice rumbles through his body.
The person in front of him pauses, hopefully recognizing him to be the stone hashira. “Of course my Lord, would you like me to guide you there?” Gyomei couldn’t help but grin at the offer and respect for his position as a hashira.
“That’s very kind of you, thank you for helping me.” He couldn’t help but get choked up after the person, likely a male based on their voice and strong grasp. Though Gyomei knew too many strong women to let that be a sole descriptor of sex.
It took a small amount of time before the guide stopped. Gyomei could hear the pitter of many tiny feet and with the sun’s warmth fading on his skin he wanted to collect all of the children under his care. He would not make the same mistakes again.
His heart sank in his large chest, a strong urge to start shedding tears over the past almost took over his every sense. “Oh, Chizu, what are you doing here?” A woman’s voice questions. The vibrations of her voice are soothing, the take away the worries Gyomei had rushing through his mind. Her very presence was like one of Kocho’s salves. He can feel her eyes finally land on his massive frame. He wondered if she was studying the scar across his forehead or the way his blank eyes refracted the very image he happened to be looking at.
Gyomei’s eyes were the window into your soul.
“I’ve brought one of the hashira to stay with you tonight.” The guide – or rather Chizu – replies. Gyomei can hear the way the woman sucks in the air, how her vibrations change to slightly protective. Good, she was willing to die for these children. The thought nearly brought him to sob. “Do you think the children will like him?” Chizu’s tone is humorous and without a second thought Gyomei is inclined to join in the jesting.
“I make for wonderful climbing practice.” Both of them burst out in laughter and it brings a smile to his face, though laughing with kind villagers is so nice… he might start crying.
After a moment the woman gingerly touches Gyomei’s muscular arm, the skin under her fingertips twitching. “I’m thankful for your presence my Lord, please come in.” He can feel her smile, the way she radiates kindness. He would stay here for the night and then make sure to hunt down the demon in the following days. Disgusting demons. He clutches his rosary, muttering chants to focus his mind on wiping away the muck of the world.
Gyomei is yet again led into a short room, he can tell because he has to duck his head. Maybe the room isn’t short and rather Gyomei is too tall. “The children are all out back, washing up before dinner. Have you eaten yet my Lord?” The woman inquires. She pushes slightly on his forearm and after many years of having people try to signal things without saying anything, he knows to sit down. He’s met with comfortable tatami flooring.
“I have not partaken in a meal yet… and please call me Gyomei.” He answers, bowing his head. The woman – he realizes he hasn’t asked her name yet – giggles softly. “Please tell me the name of the woman I am to thank for a place to rest.”
There’s a moment of silence before he senses her kneeling next to him, the click of something being set in front of him. “I am simply the Mother, that’s what the children call me, at least.” He can hear the smile in her voice. Before Gyomei can comment on anything the rush of children takes away his breath. They are loudly talking about him.
Woah! He’s so big! He’s like a mountain~ Can we keep him? I want to climb on him! Oh please, please, pleaaaassssseeeeeeeeeeeeee? Does he want this rock? Hey! That’s the rock I was going to eat!
“Excuse me Yeji, there will be no eating rocks,” Mother chastizes. The little one she was referring to groans dramatically. The woman next to you huffs before setting a hand on Gyomei’s arm again. He could get used to her calming touch. It was like how meditation made him feel. “I want you all to introduce yourself to Mister Gyomei, the stone hashira.” From what Gyomei can deduce, there are about 5 children in the room.
“I’m Yeji! What’s a hashira?” A beat before the small girl gasps excitedly, “Do you eat rocks too?!” She exclaims. Gyomei chuckles – Yeji was his favorite, a strong girl in her own accord, especially if those rocks were in her system.
“I’m Teke.” A little boy, he seems timid so Gyomei bows his head as a show of respect, hoping that Teke will see he means no harm.
“My name is Pin and this is my little brother Rin.” A young girl bashfully introduces herself along with her younger brother who grunts in response. These children were cared for, tended with honesty, and safe.
“I’m Ume… I got you this rock.” Tiny hands find their way to Gyomei and he allows her to set a miniscule pebble in his large palm.
Gyomei bows his head to all of the children. It had been a while since he felt such…an overwhelming sense of righting the wrongs his past held. “Thank you Ume, I shall treasure this for as long as I live.” She squeals with happiness.
“My Lord– er, Gyomei, do you need assistance with eating? I’ve brought some grilled meat and cold noodles. If you would like something else I’m sure one of the vendors will be happy enough to provide us with a meal worthy of your-”
“Mama, he can just eat the rock.” Yeji – who you can imagine rolling her eyes like it was the most obvious choice – says. Mother quiets before a snort of laughter rings through Gyomei’s ears. She’s laughing so hard that her breath comes out in quick pants.
It takes her a few minutes to calm down, the children giggling along with her in a harmonious melody. “I think Mister Gyomei should decide if he is the one to eat a rock or not.” She removes her hands from Gyomei’s arm, his warmth already missing hers. “But your mother worked so hard to prepare this meal.” Her timbre shifts to that of a whining child. The children hum in acknowledgment.
“Mama does work very hard to fill our tummies…” Teke mutters quietly.
“Teke is right! Let mister G…Gy…Gyoma eat Mama’s food!” Yeji yells. Gyomei fills with delight. These children, this atmosphere, it was almost too much.
With the help of Mother, Gyomei enjoys a delicious meal – a few tears are shed because of the pure deliciousness present on his tastebuds. He could’ve fed himself but in all honesty, he preferred the way Mother fed him. “Now it’s off to bed with you heathens.” She laughs.
The children rush to set up their mats, unfolding one for Gyomei. The cool air of night fills the room. “Mister Stone Man, ask Mama for a bedtime story, that way she can’t say no.” Pin is talking to him and he hears a scoff from his other side.
“Pin, I would’ve told you a tale regardless.” Mother hums. As the night settles in Gyomei can feel himself grow restless. The tale was about the Demon Corps and Gyomei felt his duty weighing on him more now than ever. He was strong enough to handle it now, that’s what he kept telling himself.
Mother was humming a lullaby with children surrounding her. He could see – well envision – himself falling into slumber, but his ears perk up at the sound of a twig snapping. Animals inhabit the surrounding woods, but this snap wasn’t on purpose. Something had tripped, the vibrations echoing malicious intent. He stills, one hand on his rosary.
He turns to the last place he felt Mother, the look – if he could have one – must have conveyed to quiet down. He can hear her wake the children who had fallen asleep. She whispers to them calm instructions, her voice never breaking an inch in fear or distress. “Go to the corner. Cover the children.” Gyomei whispers. The creaking tatami signals she had done as instructed. Gyomei was strong this time. People listened when he told them to get behind him. He would protect them. Whatever the cost. His life mattered not if he did not give it to those he protected. Whatever was outside had to be a demon, Gyomei could smell the blood dripping from its mouth. The searing smell of flesh demons usually carried. It was disgusting.
It was approaching the house. Gyomei could act on his impulse and carry out the slaying, but through a calm reproach, he would stick to the group of people he was to protect. If he left their side that left them open to an attack. The house was far enough away from the rest of the village that he wasn’t worried about anyone else coming into harm's way. “Mama, what’s going on?” Yeji asks, her voice barely above a whisper. Gyomei’s muscles tense.
It heard.
The figure appears, he can tell. “Well well well, fine dining just for me?” It sneers grotesquely. “A meaty steak and,” its voice pauses. “And some string beans to go along with it.” Gyomei can practically see the sickly smile that creeps up the evil one’s face.
“Namu Amida Butsu. Namu Amida Butsu. Namu Amida Butsu.” Gyomei feels the sinking disgust take over his body as tears flood down his face.
“Why is this one talking?” The demon questions before striking out with it’s claws. Gyomei continues his chant, gliding backwards to the group of children. Without breaking his chant the chain of his axe and flail extend outward. The nichirin metal surrounds the demon, grunts of struggle echoing in Gyomei’s ears.
This foe will not live. It will not take another life. The edge of Gyomei’s axe cuts the skin of the demon. It hisses in agony, squirming to be free from the chain wrapped around its body. Gyomei was blessed to have gone through rigorous training, hours of meditation, and being able to feel his other Hashira at work. This demon was not strong enough to defeat the pure strength Gyomei possessed. He could save these children. He would save these children.
The axe handle snaps back with a tug, slicing through the demon’s throat, but not all the way. “W-who are you?” It gurgles out.
“May you find peace.” Gyomei prays. “Amen.” Before a small pull severs the head of the demon. He’s panting, worn out from the short battle. His head spins with thoughts and prayers for the damaged creature born of hate. He decides maybe he’d like for Mother to sing him a lullaby, to ease him into slumber. The sobs of the children finally hit Gyomei when they surround his legs, hugging him.
“You were so cool!” Teke cries out, probably both scared and impressed.
“Thank you Mister Gyoma!” Yeji sobs, wiping her tear struck face on Gyomei’s pants.
“Gyomei,” He looks up, wracked with emotions unnameable. “You saved us, thank you. I am eternally grateful.”
Eternal. Yes, that’s how long Gyomei would fight for the innocent.
