March 14th was another regular day you told yourself. And it did seem like a regular day, having been assigned cleaning duty for the classroom in the afternoon after training was over. 

For you, Valentines day wasn’t really much. You did give out chocolates here and there, but you were wondering if anyone returned the favor for you.

Maybe you were hoping a bit more that he’ll especially give you a chocolate back. 

You didn’t want to admit your crush on Inumaki to anyone, knowing that the unusual choice would make others question you. But, to be honest, it was sort of his charm. You appreciate how he always looked after his friends even having limited speech, and the fact that he always had to speak in code must really be annoying sometimes.

You wanted to empathize with him, be there for him. But what could you do? For now, it was only simple waves across hallways and sneak peaks during lessons.

You sigh, putting away the broom and finally heading out to your dorm. 

As you walk down the hall you hear footsteps approaching. Bracing yourself for an awkward interaction with Gojo or a snack robbery from Panda, you close your eyes before turning the corner.

Unexpectedly, you didn’t run into Gojo or Panda, but instead Inumaki.

You stumble back a bit and rub your head.

“Shit, sorry!”

You look at Inumaki, who is also rubbing his head. You look down to see that he dropped something.

A bag of chocolates.

You look away immediately, not wanting to stick your nose in his business.

He follows your gaze, realizing that he dropped the chocolates. Hastily, he picks it up, blushing just a little through his jacket. 

“Takana?” he says, expressing his concern.

“Me? Yeah, I’m fine. Don’t worry,” you reply, wanting to get out of the conversation as fast as you could. Of course he has chocolates. Why wouldn’t he?Inumaki leans on the wall slightly. He needs to calm down. 

Slowly, he extends his hand, giving you the chocolate he dropped. 

“I…” 

Stunned, you take it off of his hands, pushing it closer to your chest. You can feel your heart beating faster and faster. You look up at Inumaki and see his head turned facing the wall, ears reddened.

You laugh a little to yourself and say, “Thanks, Inumaki!”

“Salmon.”

You squeeze the little bag of chocolates as you walk away, thanking whatever can be thanked that Inumaki gave you chocolates back. 

Maybe there was a chance that he liked you back. You didn’t want to entertain that idea, but for now, it was certainly something.

Inumaki Toge x Gn!Reader ! Reader is implied very quiet :)

🔊 | Toge's not the type of person to fall in love easily. That part was true; not only would it be hard to communicate with him, but he himself thinks it'll be a burden to love someone like him, thus, he'd always avoid truly "liking" someone.

Well that part changed when a particular sorcerer came by. They were quiet, much like him. They shown interest and affection in many small things and this further proved to Toge that love doesn't have to be spoken out loud. This gave Toge the courage to love someone despite his Curse Technique and open up, inevitably expressing his feelings.

Headcanons !

🎧 | As much as Toge love's speaking through texts, he won't actually confess through online communication. He has class lol

🎧 | Though even if he DID have class, he was in a predicament. He can't spout "tuna tuna" or "salmon" now can he? This brought Toge to search online and find some tips and tricks.

🎧 | Toge would most probably prepare a letter-- just a simple letter, he'd absolutely pour out his heart and express whatever he felt. He saw some people confess through letters so he thought about this and it was the best option for him.

🎧 | Toge would also probably prepare something hand-crafted if you're allergic to flowers or don't like flowers in general. Or he'd get those book bouquets or something related to that

🎧 | Since you were someone like him, he'd also probably make a playlist that reminds him of you BUT he printed it and placed it on his journal.

🎧 | Speaking of journals, Toge even made a whole journal about his favorite experiences about you, his favorite feature of you etc. In the journal, there was also a mini gallery of you and Toge together, candid photos of the both of you either separately or together.

🎧 | The day he had to give it though? Bless his heart. He doesn't blush often but when he does you can vaguely see a red tint around his cheeks. Though it was always covered so you can't even tease.

🎧 | He ushered you to come with him with a hurried "tuna mayo!" and pulled you away from the rest of the students you were trying to bond with. You were genuinely confused but when you saw the items and the very large "pls go out with me" note, you understood.
