i came back (finally) and decided to write about the first kiss between jean and jeremy.

I can't make myself draw anything other than sketches, also I drew a fanart for tsc a year ago and since then I kept on thinking that I didn't draw Jean's appearances as detailed as I'd like to so I made up for it

In preparation for The Golden Raven, here’s my little Bingo prediction cards.

(One of these are more serious than the other.)

Been seeing so many aftg posts that my first thought seeing this at a vintage market was of Jeremey Knox

renee walker (the living rainbow) who always has her nails painted a different color because color is such a beautiful thing, especially after you’ve been in the dark for so long

jean moreau, who starts painting his pinky nail whatever new color her nails are on their weekly skype call because it was 𝘩𝘦𝘳 color that pulled him out of the darkness, and the singular colored nail always reminds him of that rainbow he decided to live for

I love the fact that Neil had his ribs broken, Andrew had his collar bone broken and none of them got out of the court crying and screaming

Meanwhile, the little bitch, also known as Riko, tried to commit murder, got his arm broken and had to be carried out of the court while ugly crying and screaming, like the little bitch we all know he is

In sickness and in health, hm?

Look, hear me out

What if Neil was the one responsible for Lane's, Winter's and Willian's death

The last time someone gave Jean trouble (Grayson), he simply wiped the guy out

It would be weird if, after doing this for Jean, he just accepted that Winter and Willians tried to kill Andrew and moved on with his life. And even though I dont think he would order a hit on Lane for attacking him, she stopped him from getting to Andrew, which is also unforgivable

The three of them were found dead literally on the same day and they were the only ones to die after the match took place.

The ERC announced that the Ravens were disqualified still on friday. If they were to kill themselfs over it, they would have done it on friday or saturday, but they did on monday

You can call me crazy, but I think our beloved Wesninski Junior attacked again, because I dont see him just accepting waht they did to Andrew, and he definitely would not waste time with proper legal action

Im convinced both Kevin and Jean stopped arguing purely because of bi-panic

They looked at Jeremy snapping his fingers and forgot their names, why they were arguing, why they were even there

we moved on WAY too fast from Jean and Kevin arguing and Jeremy just casually snapping his fingers in their faces to break them up because yo that shit was HOT—

I love Jean's POV because that mtf lies so much to himself that at some point, if you dont pay attention, even you start believing him

In the interview part, Kevin gets super mad because the interviewer suggests the Trojans made a mistake signing Jean, this is the first time ever he breaks his "public persona" and it is clearly because he got mad they were attacking Jean

Meanwhile Jean Moreau is out there thinking "Wonder if Kevin slipped like that because they talked badly of the Trojans or because of the alcohol"🤡

And it is not just with Kevin

EVERY TIME someone does something good to him or defends him, this mtf finds every possible reason for it under the Sun, except admitting this person cares and want him well

Jeremy is worried about him? Must be because Jeremy doesnt want him to be an obstacle to the team

Rhemann asks if he is okay? Must be because he is a terrible a player and is disappointing Rhemann on the Court

His other teammates want to spend time with him on the bus? Cant find the reason, but there nust be something

It is absolutely not his fault, and it in fact breaks my heart everytime

I just wish he could see how amazing he is and how much people actually care and like him

I haven't seen anyone commenting on this, but did yall noticed Kevin and Andrew were sharing the SAME bag for their LA trip???

Like, they brought one single carry-on, with all of their things for the trip on it (probably with their cloths kind of mixed in there too)

Andrew Minyard, who is super protective of his space and things, is out here sharing a bag with Kevin Day

Jean "knowing this cologne came from another man is making me murderous" Moreau I am OBSESSED with you

This part got me SO MAD

And he made Jeremy answer it, like, c'mmon how terrible of a parent can you be

Yes, the kid fucked up. Yes, using drugs was a shit decision. From that to literal murder there is a huge gap.

Also, it is Jeremy, boy couldn't harm a flower. He is literally so sweet all the time. How can you not know your kid that much????

honestly i HATE trent knox bc wdym ur questioning if ur son killed somebody when the worst thing he’s ever done is do drugs and have an orgy

The way he tried to say he was a Moreau ONCE again (when Cat said "I love you" to him) and then stopped himself and almost choked 💀

Neil has a talent for saying exactly what will make an impact on someone. He uses that for evil or for good, depending solely on who is the person he is talking to

clocked him so hard he didn’t dare mention it again in a whole as new book. he tried, I see you struggling jean dw, but he never got through with it

So I have been thinking and I noticed one kind of disturbing thing in the backstories revealed in TGR

So, we all know Jean tried to end his own life at the Nest and Riko tortured him for it and then locked him basically on a box with breathing holes

During the time Jean was locked in there, Kevin went to talk to him and made him promise to not try it again, bc he wouldnt be able to handle being left alone with Riko again (before Jean's arrival when they were all 14ish, it was just Kevin and Riko). Jean promised it to him, and not matter how much he wanted to, he never dared to break the promise, even after Kevin had left.

Riko never knew this talk or this promise happened, which means that this mtf probably thought the reason why Jean never tried to kill himself again was bc of the torture he faced after he tried it 🤡

Like, Riko was probably outhere thinking that locking someone up in a coffin for days is a super effective way to prevent future suicide attempts (kinda ironic since Riko died of "suicide", aah the karma that came to this little bitch will never not me amazing to me)

Anyways, just wanted to share with yall my disturbing thought of the night

Neil is that stray cat who will scratch the absolute sh*t out of you if you try to hug or pet it

He needs ppl who will just accept his presence there, no matter how many cups he pushes off of the balcony(and he WILL push every mug or cup he has the opportunity to, bc he is just waiting for the time it is gonna be too much and everyone is gonna leave him, like he is used to) and ppl who will not bother or make a big deal out of it once he eventually decides to get close and lay on their laps or by their side. But getting close has to be his decision, bc his problem isnt that he thinks no one would ever show him love, his problem is that he believes he is too much and that this love will never be something permanent, at some point he is gonna cause too much trouble and ppl will give up on him. So he has to be the one to get close and he just needs ppl to be prepared for when he realizes they arent backing away, no matter how hard he tries to make them. Those are the Foxes. They respected all his limits (biggest example is the shower thing), stayed away as long as he needed to (but always in arms reach) and once he believed he had gone too far and nobody would be there for him (Baltimore), they still are there waiting. Thats when he opens up and allows them to come in his world. He would never survive the Trojans shower of affection or their worried intromissions in his life (not bc he didnt like them, but bc he would never see them as genuine, so he would see it as threat and run)

Jean is that dog that has been beaten and put to sleep on the outside way too many times. He doesnt know love, but he also doesnt know freedom. He doesnt need ppl to prove that they will stick by him, bc his abusers have stuck by his side all his life. He needs ppl to prove to him that they will stay by his side not because they hate or despise him, but because they love him deeply. Once he sees affection he will find it weird, but he will accept it (bc he was taught not to bite, unlike tge stray cat, that learned to bite and scratch at the smallest sign of a threat) long enough to actually start liking it. He will see the love he never had and even though it scares the fuck out of him, he will stay. He doesnt believe anybody would ever love him, but he has wished to be a loved qll his life with every cell of his body, so once he is in fact loved, even though it scares him and he doesnt think he desearves it, he cant help but to be drawn by it. For him it feels like a trap (why would anybody ever love HIM??), but he just cant help to fall for it. And once he realizes it in fact isnt a trap and that ppl actually like and find him worthy, he will also start to give this love back, bc thats all he ever wanted, to love and be loved. It still feels like ge is in a fever dream, but he just wants to enjoy every single part of it, like someone who has walked on a desert for days and suddenly finds a river with clean water

They are completely different, but at the same both Neil and Jean just wanted to find a family, to find ppl who would love and accept them for who they were and both have found it 🥹🥹

I just love them so much

The more I think about the differences between how the Trojans show affection vs how the Foxes do, the more I come to the conclusion that they unwittingly created the perfect environment for Jean and Neil’s arcs respectively.

Take for example the way Cat and Laila show Jean affection. The forehead kisses, the hugs, the endless reassurance and compassion. It may go without saying but Neil would’ve hated it if he ended up in that situation. He would’ve booked it faster than you can say Wesninski. But Jean? I mean sure he was baffled at first, but the way he grows to lean into it? The way he shows affection the same way back? Jean needed that brand of affection in a way Neil won’t ever. He needed to learn that he was deserving of such love; that there are people out there now who cared about him as deeply as he does them.

Neil on the other hand needed to learn a whole different set of lessons. The Foxes showing him that they care was less such obvious displays of love and more about patience in the face of his complications. More about their willingness to stick by him when the fabricated life he clung so hard to unraveled at the seams. Jean wouldn’t have flourished as much in that environment because he didn’t need understanding as much as he needed love. He didn’t need someone to help piece his life back together as much as he needed someone to love what was already there.

Neil is like an innocent looking stray cat that the foxes still kept even when they got bit; while Jean is like an abused show dog that the Trojans nurse back to health. And good lord do I love them both for it.

For the sake of updating this?? I did. A postage stamp with a peach on it :) Postage stamp because of the postcards, peach for obvious reasons, little 11¢, and then put it on my ribs... Most English major thing I've ever done ngl

I need a Trojan halloween party with Jean just being absolutely CONFUSED as to why the fuck a bunch of college students are dressed up in costumes for a childish holiday

But also he likes it because Jeremy is dressed as an angel, his chest bare with glitter and wings and a halo and Jean is absolutely mesmerized by his beauty

And Cat forced Jean to dress as something stupid like a cowboy or something

And if I get a peach tattoo because Jeans pure happiness at having a peach (and him hiding it for later) brought me to tears, then what??

Thinking about how Jeremy said something about people getting tired of the Trojans and never getting a red card and how people want the drama. Also how many posts I see about someone (jean, Jeremy, Cat, Lucas, etc) being the one to get the first red card...something something parallels...something something connections...

Jean “damn him for looking just as good as a blond as he did a brunette” Moreau

Jeremy “forgot everything else he could have said in favor of staring. It was the first time he’d heard Jean say his name. Hearing it in Jean’s accent put a wicked flutter in his stomach.” Knox

Jean “noticed the flick of his gaze over Jean’s face and down to his shirt: the deep blue top Jeremy had seemed so taken with yesterday.” Moreau

Jeremy “It was more endearing than it should be, and Jeremy hid a smile against his long-empty mug whenever Jean got particularly rude.” Knox

Jean “The sound of his language on Jeremy’s lips was enough to give Jean pause. He counted his heartbeats as he studied Jeremy’s face, committing the textbook-perfect sounds to memory” Moreau

Jeremy “it wasn’t the words that set his heart tripping; It was the heavy satisfaction in his tone that put a needy heat in Jeremy’s stomach.” Knox (all because Jean said he was very good.)

Jean “and like Kevin had accused him, Jean had been ultimately more interested in the accompanying photographs than whatever the text might have said.” Moreau

Jeremy “he couldn’t look away again. He watched colored lights dance off the sun-reddened cheeks until Jean finally caught him at it.” Knox

Jean “Jeremy’s smile was slow and radiant, and Jean had to look away.” Moreau

Jeremy “I’m not learning French for anyone but you” Knox

Jean “It makes you more interesting. Not your capacity for unkindness, but how fiercely you fight against it.” Moreau

Jeremy “It was enough to get Jean’s undivided attention, at least until Jeremy peeled his tank top off. Jean immediately found something else to stare at, like he always did when Jeremy was in varying stages of undress. It was horrifically inappropriate fighting for Jean’s attention like this, Jeremy knew.” Knox

Jean “didn’t have to look at Jeremy to know he was smiling, he could practically feel the warmth radiating off his captain” Moreau

Jeremy “would be lucky to know his own name when Jean was standing between his legs like this.” Knox

Jean “Fuck what I deserve. What about what I want? Moreau

Jeremy “Jean’s fingers on his neck killed his train of thought” Knox

Jean “I am not sorry. Perhaps I should be. But I will choose you every time. You, and Cat, and Laila, every time. I will lose them all if I must.” Moreau

Jeremy “What little Jeremy heard went way over his head; he knew nothing about motorcycles, and Jean was more interesting by far.” Knox

Jean “Brown like the gaze that sought Jean out in every room.” Moreau

Things that are not funny but are also hilarious

i am on my fifth reread of aftg so i can read tgr (not bc i don’t remember the plot but because it is as good excuse as any to reread them) and i will never cease to be insanely obsessed with these characters

see, the intriguing thing about kevjean is how insistent they both are that they aren't friends. they don't think anything is salvageable, that their friendship is in ruins because of what riko did and because of his ghost haunting them, but the way they treat each other is so explicitly tender that all their arguments fall flat.

it's about constantly reaching for the others hand.

everytime they are together their hands are reaching out to each other like anchors. in tsc this was such a sharp turn from kevin's behavior with the other characters because it was gentleness the likes of which we've only had glimpses of. in tgr, it was like they couldn't help themselves - immediately kevin took hold of jean's coffee mug, grabbed his wrist when helping him dress, jean teaching him how to cook, kevin taking jean's hand during the interview, jean stopping kevin's hand when he reached for more vodka.

it's about the way they talk to each other like they don't with anyone else.

"you've always known what i am." and "i can still hear him. can you?" and kevin's desperate "even with me?" when jean refused to talk about riko. its "california agrees with you." and "stay with me." and "you like the sound of your own voice too much to give this up." and "did you even read any of them or were you too busy fawning over his phot-" and "i will break it over your head" when kevin reached for more vodka.

it's the things they do for each other.

kevin's protective streak is uncommon enough that the interviewer chose to point it out. and kevin's only response was to put jean on the same level where people had previously been putting riko. "jean is the only brother i have left." that hurt jean because that's not how he feels about kevin, but in the long run that statement could work wonders for his reputation. kevin isn't baseless with the things he says, that was definitely calculated. even the "hannah. that is enough." was a harsher personality than he's ever shown the cameras. he sure kept his promise to jeremy there.

the way kevin fidgeted with the yellow wristband and turned over the postcards he'd given jean once only to see them destroyed. and then not hesitating to send another one so jean can have this at least (even though it was burnt away, he can always send more) he gave jeremy answers but stopped just short of exposing jean's secrets...the foxes see such cutthroat aggression from him because they're his teammates but in front of jeremy and jean it's so wonderful to see how much kevin truly cares.

and from jean's side it's the begrudging but deliberate care he shows kevin. god help him, he can't even hide it for a second because even jeremy noticed. it's like he tries to defy kevin but then all kevin has to do is ask and he shall receive. and the man knows it! but jean (and arguably neil) are the only ones who lash out when kevin self-destructs because "you're supposed to better than this." they want him to act like the pillar they've based their whole life around and seeing him in ruins is unnerving. the anger jean felt when he found out kevin was chugging vodka, the fight that ensued when they were both on edge but more importantly the easy way they moved past it.

it's inevitable that they say and do things that drive the other insane, but when it comes to, as jean put it, "unsubtle and idiotic devotion" they're always there for each other.

but they're not friends, no. and if you call them that they'll deny it till they're blue. but then again, their hands will always reach for each other in their own angered, careful, terrified or concerned manner.

this got super long but i enjoy their dynamic so much. i feel insane because this is how best friends who are deeply familiar treat each other; teasing jean about jeremy, pinching jean to clear his head, fixing his shirt for him and jean elbowing kevin when he wants answers and filling kevin's glass with tap water instead of filtered water out of annoyance. it's reminding me of one part of "using you" by mars argo:

for anyone expecting to talk to a normal human being for at least the next month this is who you are actually talking to!
