slightly shittier power au

luther is still super strong. but to activate his strength he has to use a dumbbell with one arm.

diego can only curve shitty plastic cutlery. they surprsingly do a lot of damage.

allison can still rumour people but she has to say “want to know the hot goss?” first. 

klaus can still see the dead. thats it. thats the power.

five’s time travel only works if he makes the tardis flying sound before jumping through time.

ben still has the horror but its not tentacles. its a bunch of spider legs and its somehow more terrifying 

vanya still has her sound powers but they only work if she listens to pop music made in the last decade. she causes the apocalypse by listening to despacito

What do you think would be the ideal endgame for each hargreeves?

The ideal endgame would go something like this: Luther: Sociable and having friends, other people he can actually talk to other than his family. I think that’s what he really and truly needs. It was something he never got to have and it was one of the things he spoke up about when he found out about the moon mission being all for nothing. I think he’d go out a lot more, maybe call some friends up and go out to eat, maybe see a movie, have bowling alley nights or hit the bar and have a few drinks RESPONSIBLY. Maybe even find a nice partner along the way and eventually settle down. He’d no longer look at himself as monstrous (but I also feel like maybe they can fix this along with everything else.) Diego: Maybe he wants to try again with joining the police force, not so much for himself but to honor Eudora and what she believed in. He still wants to help people, but now that he no longer has pent up bitterness and anger towards his family, he can think more clearly. He wants to do things the right way, or as right as they can be. I also think he’d be a lot more active with his family. Going to Vanya’s concerts with the family, spending more time with Luther because they were the ones with the most tension. Now that they’ve shed their numbers, they can be proper brothers instead of being at each other’s throats all the time. Hot take: If Eudora is alive somehow though, then I can see them possibly trying things again (but she made Diego promise to work on himself a bit too and so he does.) So the only difference is he joins the police academy not to honor her, but to respect her instead. Allison: She eventually works things out with Patrick and she can see her daughter Claire a lot more often. Things might still be rocky for awhile, but she tries. Allison also decides that being a movie star is no longer for her, seeing as it was built up on nothing but rumors. So she retires, then goes out to find a proper and honest job instead. Maybe she goes into the fashion industry or makeup or something, not really sure I feel like she’d wanna do a range of things.

Hot take: She goes into the police force with Diego to do detective work, because she has the experience, as we’ve seen her do when looking into Leonard’s background and tracking down her sister. I think these two would make a badass detective duo tbh. Klaus: No drugs, no vices. Helps other recovering addicts, helps the community a bit by doing volunteer work, even helps ghosts out now that he understands them better, and has work out time with Diego to get himself into a healthier routine. He’ll help Ben out at the library during volunteer work as well. Klaus also works part time at a coffee shop where can meet all kinds of people there. He even meets someone that he thinks might get along with Luther and so he hooks them up because he knows his brother needs to experience real love. Klaus has usually been right. Klaus also does little projects at home like starting his own make up line. He’s hoping he can turn it into a real business in the future. Five: I can see him become a tutor for kids who never really got proper education. Maybe even a teacher/professor. So instead of obsessing over equations for trying to save the world, or do something crazy like time travel, he can use it to help others find some kind of direction in their life. Hot take: As an off to the side job, he’d help take care of animals at the shelter. Ben: Alive again. He helps out at the local library, maybe as an assistant. He reads a whole lot. And this probably goes into my New Years resolutions I did around the end of last year, but I can see him doing a bit of traveling to other places and taking his siblings with him when he can, since he’s now able to. He’d be outside all the time too, at the park, just walking, seeing the sights. He stops by the coffee shop sometimes to see how Klaus is doing and asks him about the people he’s met. Ben is aiming to be a writer, so hearing about the different kinds of people really help him with ideas for books, as do the sights. Vanya: I see her becoming a therapist after everything she’s been through. She has enough experience to help those who feel alone and less than important. She makes friends more easily now, and maybe even has friend hang outs with Luther, where they and their friends all gather and be social and have fun. Something they’d both been missing all their lives. Vanya also spends a lot more time with her siblings in general and they go and see her concerts. She still tutors people in music, mainly the violin but after the whole “blowing up the moon” thing, she decides to learns a few other instruments as well, like the piano and acoustic guitar.

Does anyone know why did Ben left the room on episode 6, when Diego is tying up Klaus?

I think its because he was hurt because Klaus wouldn't sober up for HIM, but he would do it for Dave, or he was jealous somehow of Diego?? though its a very rough theory... Any better ideas?

So I have this S2 theory based on the twitter post today.

What if the commission slyly put up missing posters in the time the Hargreeves landed so people would actively look for them, without knowing the actual reasoning? It would be much easier to track them down. Field agents can only do so much and this also might be why they changed appearance? To avoid detection and the commission, as well as blend in.

TUA s2 Theories pt. 3

Now more personal headcannons that aren’t based on comic/Netflix knowledge but I want them to happen anyway

The actions the Academy make in the past will cause a change in the future timeline. Maybe we’ll see the group with cellphones. I am here for a tua group chat. And then the off-brand “evens” group chat and “sisters” group chat.

Delores will come back.

At least one character will meet their birth mother.

Dave didn’t die. But more likely, they will meet him again in Texas BEFORE he technically met Klaus. Or Klaus will use the excuse of being in the past to look for Dave. (Vietnam war 1968—>JFK 1963)

The Academy will Groundhog Day the Apocalypse day until it works.

Kenny’s mom is in the commission. Or maybe even one of the 43 children.

The handler is not dead because she is one of the 43.

We will meet someone higher up in the commission.

Hazel and Cha Cha backstory

Bens power is not just to summon an octopus creature out of his chest. It’s to make a portal in his chest. So he would be able to summon other creatures as well (not just king Cthulhu or whatever). So we can see Ben summoning fairies, jackalopes, inter-dimensional kitty cats, giant dragon wings, etc. Maybe he has alternate dimension powers, similar to Five’s time and space manipulation.

Allison will be REDEEMED. She is a fantastic character and great mediator. Despite her past mistakes, she will be a vital part to the communication and relationships between the team.

Maybe coming back to life isn’t just Klaus’ thing due to his powers. Maybe all of the Academy have trouble dying (rip ben). Allison realistically should not have survived Vanyas attack. Luther shouldn’t have survived his accident.

Grace will come back. Diego will see her and MELT. She will also FINALLY finish her convo with Diego and tell him what she was going to before time reversed the first time.

Vanya will NOT be mad at her siblings she’ll just feel bad about what she did.

The siblings will find out that Allison rumored them in the past too.

The commission will un-monkey Luther.

There will be more communication between the siblings.

Hargreeves used the Academy to commit crimes for his personal benefit without them knowing.

Five does NOT get a girlfriend or boyfriend.

Allison will become a SINGLE MOM (with an appearance from Claire and maybe Patrick). She might get a new boyfriend in the past.

Ben will stay single.

Diego will get with somebody (Eudora or not).

The girl on the bus that smiled at vanya will come back. Maybe a new love interest to make Vanya rightfully into girls???

TUA s2 Theories pt. 2

Headcannons based off Comic info (SPOILERS WARNING!)

The magical monocle will come back. The gang will use it to discover other characters’ pasts and natures.

“Young” Five (or future Five) will be sent by the Commission to kill JFK for REAL this time since he skimped out on it last time. Is the reason the world a little different because JFK didn’t die? Or maybe Five was sent there originally to STOP the assassin who shot JFK.

Young five and Old Five will meet.

A new group of people born mysteriously with powers will appear. In Hotel Oblivion, the last chapter ends with a group of new superheros!

In apocalypse suite THEY STOP THE APOCALYPSE. Not a hc but what’s up with that????

The academy will bump into Reginald again. He is alive at that point BUT he won’t recognize them.

Allison used her powers on Luther NOT her ex husband. She got married to him and had Claire out of love. But she still has to deal with the rumor she put on Luther. (This is a rough one but hey, maybe it’s an easy out to the LutherxAllison relationship arc)

Allison will get her voice back with the help of the commission. They are, after all, experts in experimentation.

Allison will help in the assassination of JFK. In the comic, she posed as Jackie Kennedy. Obviously, their looks aren’t similar, so she might not pass as her. But she could always use her powers to help in the plot.

Five and Luther are twins!! The commission threatens to kill their mother if they do not comply.

One of them will find and read Reggies journal about them. They’ll learn he’s even more of a dick than they thought :/

We will find out about the training the other kids got into (like Klaus in the mausoleum).

Reginald has powers too.

TUA s2 Theories pt. 1

Character theories

Klaus’ powers will be explored more. But the fandom tends to focus on his Netflix powers and his comic levitation/telekinesis powers. I would be happy if these weren’t in the show (they’re a little much) but, instead, his comic possession powers were introduced. In the comic, he was able to kill cha cha and hazel by possessing Cha Cha and killing hazel and then making Cha Cha kill herself. Though Netflix Klaus is much softer than comic Klaus. I doubt he’d make anyone kill under his possession. BUT he could be great at infiltration js 🤷‍♀️

Diego will show off his aqua man powers.

Five will get a puppy, Mr. Pennycrumb. He will show more love to this dog than any human.

The timeline change could bring back Eudora. Maybe make it so that Diego never met her in the first place. Or Klaus could bring her back with his powers.

We will see where Hazel and Agnes ended up. I’m hoping we’ll see more of them. Maybe even join the team! Or settle down and adopt some kids together.

We will find out about bens death. Did he kill himself (As suggested by the quote on his statue “May the darkness within you find peace in the light”). This would explain why he doesn’t have any noticeable injuries.

Maybe he ripped himself apart so there wasn’t anything left to show as a ghost. That might be why he looks normal and aging as a ghost.

This is a stretch, but maybe he ended up in an alternate dimension. His chest contains an inter-dimensional portal with an assload of monsters. Would it be so hard to believe if he got mixed up with his own power?

Rewriting tua: Diego is there in time to get eudora's call, the two of them rescue klaus together?

Everyone actually notices Klaus is gone

At least half of them apologise for not noticing Klaus was gone/ failing to rescue him

Klaus shares what actually happened to him

Klaus gets to beat a MF up at least once

Luther and Allison are BEST FRIENDS ONLY

We get an entire fun episode from Claires pov as a chill intermission without angst

Similarly we get an entire episode from Ben’s pov and it’s revealed that in between helping Klaus he just dicks around in the afterlife

Vanya is gay/bi/pan

Five stays in his old man suit from the 1st episode the whole time

Eudora joins the team instead of dying

Dave joins the team instead of dying

At the very end of the season in the after credits scene at the very very end Delores talks out loud to everyone and what she says is “fuck”. It’s never mentioned or brought up again

just a random headcanon:

where klaus has a really long an elaborate coffee order and ben has memorized it because he loves him.

ben also made his coffee order really simple just so klaus could remember it. ben still has to help him remember it sometimes though lol

klaus buys both coffees and drinks them both even though he doesn’t even like ben’s order.

there is absolutely no way he would actually let them say he’s 13 he’d be like “ugh at least make it 14 damn” even though,,, his birthday is in like,,, less than a year,, ok i realize that isn’t how ageing works but cut me some slack

anyway. diego always. always. he fucking comes in decked out in his bondage gear and he walks up to the register completely deadpan but only when it’s five’s shift, and he stares deep into five’s eyes and orders

“do you want apple slices with that”

and then he gets the meal and just. gives it back to five. and he gives him the biggest shit-eating grin and tells him to enjoy his lunch and powerwalks out of there before five can get charged for murder

that only works once though bc next time five is READY but so is diego so he continuously orders frappes or whatever the fuck mcdonalds sells

Just me having the need to combine Fandoms. These are just my very chaotic thoughts in no order. Also I might write a fic to this one day…

Note: Even though I don’t mention it for everyone specifically just where it seems to fit because this post will be really long already they all have ADHD and dyslexia because that comes with being a demigod in the Percy Jackson universe.

Sure! I have a couple, though not many considering that he’s rarely featured…

Ben has… many mental issues. 

BPD I would say, because he seemingly really enjoys being spontaneous but at the same time can NOT handle other people’s shit 

Also most likely had undiagnosed anxiety as a kid because he would say stuff like “my stomach hurts :(” (aka how children can communicate their anxiety because they literally don’t know the word) and everyone would go “sHiT rUN” bc eldritch monster.

He was wearing a hoodie when he died, which would have been an act of rebellion at the young age that he was, right? 

….Reginald would never allow him to wear that on a mission

THEREFORE

I head canon that Ben did not die on a mission, but while running away.

Which would be why Klaus blames himself (”I didn’t sign up to save him or you!”) since he probably ran away multiple times before ben did and knew the risks

Reginald sat Ben and Five on either side of Vanya because he believed they were the strongest of the rest of them and could kill control her if she had an outburst 

He never learned to drive but man he really really wanted to

Died and realized that physical laws didn’t apply to him anymore so he went absolutely buck wild for a little bit there 

I’m talking full on standing between walls like a glitched out video game character for no reason other than its so fuckin funny

And driving Klaus INSANE with the I’m not touching you game 

Also him and Klaus were really close as kids because Ben was the only one who believed his off the wall bullshit 

Like when Klaus freaks out thinking that they’re all robots like Grace because they get cords attached to their heads at night - he’s sEEN IT GUYS - but they all think it’s just another one of his nightmares

But no, Ben’s like “hmm that might be legit”

And yet they can’t prove it because Reginald catches on to them and monitors them in different ways 

He’s smart but not like…. in a competitive way, you feel me? Luther and Diego learned a lot through trying to one up each other (like Diego criticizing Luther’s knowledge of spacial phenomenons and Diego taunting Luther with his knowledge of specific wrestling terms)

And not in an identity crisis way, like Five, who needed to prove to HIMSELF that he was capable of great feats

Nope, Ben just wanted to learn stuff for shits and giggles

And lemme tell you just how much that pissed Reginald off  :)

If we don’t get Klaus forgetting and continuing to use “Ben agrees with me” to win arguments if once Ben comes back to life next season and Ben finally calling him out on that bullshit, what is even the point? 

Five is arrested for “public drunkenness, loitering, and the violent physical assault of three” outside the library and taken in to the station for some standard documentation and a night in juvie (its his first trespass with the law so he gets it pretty light), but a few days later, the station receives a notice: the fingerprints they pulled off “Five Horgreaves” came back with a match. The cold case from the 1930s, and the shooting at Griddy’s.

In this essay I will....

TUA Power-swap AU

Because I’ve seen one or two?? already and wanted to add my own. (This is very basic and superficial AU, but that’s what I have lol) 

Basically:

·         Luther- Ben- big, awkward Luther who’s scared to leave the house because leaving the house means stress of accidentally releasing the Horror. And stressed Luther means, hello, tentacles. It’s a cursed cycle so he stays in the house most of the time and does a lot of meditation and control exercises

·         Diego- Klaus- ‘my-middle-name-is-Angry’ Diego would take no shit from no ghosts. He’d slap on a pair of earbuds and blast…idk, something super loud (Slipknot??) to drown out the noise

·         Allison- Diego- badass, knife-wielding, action star Allison??? Do I need to say more?

·         Klaus- Five- our boy still travels his ass to Vietnam and meets Dave but before he dies, he zaps them back to present, safe and sound, and happy as they deserve to be

·         Five- Vanya- uhh, this AU has him sorta-kinda-totally dead (that’s why he still looks 13) but imagine this little murder machine, who is technically 30 years old, following Diego around and making remarks on his poor life decisions the whole time (and helping him solve cases ofc)

·         Ben- Allison- he doesn’t really use his power much. He has learned to think carefully before using it so when he does everybody knows shit hit the fan

·         Vanya- Luther- just. tiny Vanya being able to bench press literally everyone and everything and random people being like “???How????”

Bonus (aka a measly bit of plot I came up with for this):

Five and Reginald get into an argument during which Five lashes out (much like Vanya did in the series). Reginald decided to medicate him but fucks up and ends up killing him. Now pissed AND dead, Five tells Diego what happened and he tells the rest of their siblings and their mom. Long story short, they kill Reginald and live happily ever after.

some headcanons for ben once he’s back alive?

these are some dark ones lol sorry

•ben comes back to life. he's freezing cold, yet his stomach burns and aches with something unsettled

•one of the first things he does is try to eat. the smell of food quickly becomes too strong and nauseating. he vomits out all his dinner

•he forgets that the others can hear him, and tends to only address klaus when speaking

•his skin aches for contact, for touch, starved of it after 14 years of being incorporeal

•his siblings greet him with big hugs.

•the touch is overwhelming, and he quickly has to excuse himself for a break. only klaus can physically contact him for a while after that.

•he forgets how to eat, how to sleep, forgets to breathe and blink.

•after years of built up codependency, it becomes habit and a comfort to ben. the others have to stress to him that he is independent.

•he finds himself still lingering around klaus like a shadow. he slowly grows controlling with knowing where klaus is, what he's doing, now that he isn't around to see.

•anxiety claws at him at long bouts of separation.

•he tries desperately to bond with his other siblings, but forgets how to respond in certain social situations.

•his stomach burns from The Horror being alive again. It rumbles and claws under his skin when he tries to sleep

piano ben

after the not-apocalypse, ben is kind of lost

he doesn’t really have any skills other than fighting, because he died pretty young

so ben is constantly jumping from hobby to hobby, trying to find something he likes

klaus suggests art, which ben does try, but it doesn’t really click for him

he keeps asking people what they like but none of the things they suggest really work? they’re either way too complicated or he just doesn’t really like them

but then vanya suggests he learns an instrument

at first he wanted to try the violin, because vanya already knows it and she could teach him

but then he decided that it’s too painful

(ive played the violin for a little. ouch my fingertips)

he also tries the saxophone and trumpet but no luck

then it hits him

the ultimate instrument. the one that if he knows how to play it, learning how to play another one wouldnt be as hard

that’s right its the fucking piano

if he learns it, he learn how to read music, he learns chords, he learns all of that music theory shit, hes basically music man at that point

piano it is

ben is actually pretty good, for somebody who’s been dead for over a decade

he starts out with all that basic shit, yanno? im not going to describe the process of learning piano and the stuff that comes with it. he learns piano okay

once he gets pretty good, like maybe fur elise level good

he plays with vanya

because she needs a piano accompanist for practice sometimes! and he can play the piano! its perfect

he learns a bunch of classical and contemporary music, but also the notes to songs and showtunes and stuff

so he can accompany klaus, because def sings at least a little bit

for fun, minimum.

it becomes a family thing they do

ben playing piano, vanya playing violin, and the rest either singing or dancing

or both

ben learns i think we’re alone now! because he loves his family

sometimes when ben is questioning if he’s alive or not he goes and plays the piano

they have a keyboard in the house, but after ben shows that he’s like, really serious about the piano they buy a piano

i want to say they buy a grand piano, but honestly i also kind of feel like ben would really like playing stand up pianos??

idk there really isn’t much of a difference, he enjoys both

eventually he starts teaching lessons, like vanya

instead of teaching at a music school or something he just has lessons in the mansion

so there’s often these little kids playing piano

and ben trying to show them the scales

ben writes a couple of his own songs at one point

he doesn’t really compose because he can never make the notes fit together in the right way, but sometimes just playing out a little melody he made up on the spot is really nice

additionally: he can play memes on the piano, and because he missed out on it in his previous life ben rickrolls his siblings a lot

five doesn’t understand why klaus is dying of laughter after ben starts playing a song

because he’s an old man who has little to no understanding of pop culture

in conclusion: ben plays piano and i love him

TUA characters as the Greek Gods

Luther: Zeus, God of the Sky. Rules as king of the gods.

Diego: Poseidon, God of the Sea and Earthquakes. Known to be one of the most moody and ill-tempered gods. Vengeful when insulted. Often asserts his independence from the other gods and acts against the rule of Zeus. 

Allison: Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Beauty. Many stories about her include themes of deception and persuasion. In Rick Riordan’s books, she’s said to change faces rapidly to appeal to the tastes of whoever is looking at her.

Klaus: Hades, God of the Underworld.  Kind of self-explanatory.

Five: Hermes, God of Travelers, Thievery and Cunning.  Though Five definitely isn’t the most hospitable in the family, he does travel across space and time.  He’s also cunning and willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants.

Ben: Hecate, Goddess of Ghosts, Magic, and Crossroads.  Not only is Ben a ghost, he also puts Klaus in front of a lot of proverbial crossroads by challenging his worldview and basically acting as his conscience.

headcanon time:

* ben has a chronic pain disorder.

* ben thought the never ending pain was like. a Normal Thing everyone else had.

* so like. he said something off handedly about it and whoever he said it to gave him a Concerned Look.

* who knew that having something crawling around the inside of your body wasn’t good and fresh?

* reginald never gave two fucks if ben was in pain or not. mostly he thought that ben was being dramatic about it.

* (maybe ben starts self medicating with alcohol…..catch me sneaking in some alcoholic!ben au in here)

* ben started to read a lot more. because it didn’t require that much physical energy.

* he’s like. always tired. it’s a chronic pain thing. you are always tired because your body is using its energy to not literally collapse.

* when he died he wasn’t in pain so like. yeah death is Bad,,,, but like,,,,, he could deal with it

* when he came back he felt fucking terrible for at least six weeks. like, can’t get out of bed literally crying because of the unbearable pain.

So this one night, Ben stumbles onto someone's yard and thinks it his own. The cops get called, and bring him three doors down to his a c t u a l home. aka: the academy

Ben is covered is bruises and cuts. He doesn't say anything but he starts sobbing, like full blown, snot and tears mingling on his chin sobbing.

Diego and Allison are awake and they try to calm him down. It doesn't work, he cries harder. Eventually they say fuck it and pull Klaus out of his room (he was awake because like. fuck sleep.)

So they beg him to h e l p because they have no fucking clue what to do and they know that Klaus is the only damn person Ben will listen to.

So Klaus. Sits there. Holds Ben's hand and nods along to what Ben says even though he has no fucking clue what he is actually saying.

He hands him tissues and runs his fingers through his hair.

They don't talk. They sit. Ben cries and pokes at his wounds and keeps crying about how he got brought home by the cops. It's a thing-and-a-half.

Eventually, Ben stops crying and just, laughs. Because he got brought home by the cops and went to the same bar six times and barley remembers his name, and it's not funny but it is.

His laughter is hallow though. Empty. And it sounds maniacal.

Klaus feels like crying and tries to get Ben to got upstairs and sleep. But Ben keeps on insisting he wants a smoke. Changes the subject a million and one times.

Klaus has tried anger and kindness and exasperation. But it's not working, so he just, sits there, next to Ben.

Ben pushes him off whenever Klaus tries to comfort. Ben talks too loudly to even be considered sober.

And quietly, Klaus says that maybe Ben needs help. And Ben lets out a harsh laugh and says: "No shit I need help. I actually...I've been thinking about it."

Klaus knows Ben won't remember saying this. That he'll get up and start drinking again. But there's...a glimmer of hope. He has a glimmer of hope that maybe, maybe Ben'll be okay.

So Klaus listens to the birds chirp and sees the sun rise through his window, and he thinks about everything.

Klaus has hope; he won't let that go. Not yet.

things i think the Hargreeves should do post apocalypse:

Luther:

Any adult shop classes because I genuinely love mechanic!Luther and have been slipping that into like, all my aus where I can.

Goes to slam poetry nights because he genuinely enjoys poetry (hello space poetry from episode one about the comet or whatever) and maybe one day is confident enough to share his with other people

Gets some gym bros who all enthusiastically support him in a bro sort of way who are constantly getting their minds blown by how much Luther can lift and constantly going “YOOOOOO” while Luther tries to downplay things bc he’s embarrassed 

I don’t know I just want Luther to have actual friends

Probably goes to every astronomy event where people have telescopes and is known in that scene so every time there’s some event at the observatory newcomers are like “what the FUCK” when this bigass bodybuilder comes in and starts gushing about which planet is visible I don’t know

Spearheads a lot of the family’s museum (that aren’t art museum) outings, especially if they have any exhibit that even vaguely relates to outer space or planets or the moon or anything. 

Probably gets up at godawful hours on the morning to go hiking and see the sunrise because he really liked doing that on the moon and even though it isn’t quite the same he still loves to do it. (If he’s not hiking he goes up to Grace’s roof garden to watch it)

Diego:

He already does his fighting at the gym which is kind of cool I’m going to gently assume that he already has gym bros and if he doesn’t then he becomes somewhat more approachable after everything

(having your mother comes down to the gym and kiss your cheek or your teenage brother hop in to drag you away or you other very flamboyant sibling dance his way into the gym to fetch you doesn’t exactly do wonders for keeping a reputation going)

I do want to think that Diego takes up like,, whittling but I think he’d have to do it away from Vanya bc,, you know,, Leonard/Harold whatever was a woodcarver or something but idk maybe Vanya is cool with it - but just the image of Diego hunching over and carving at something and Klaus leaning over and trying to enthusiastically guess what it is while getting it super super wrong because Diego is a beginner and his starting pieces are all lumpy monstrosities makes me smile

Diego taking cooking classes so that he can surprise Grace by taking over dinner sometimes and letting her relax and do what she wants

I’ve said this somewhere before but Diego spearheading picnic events and forcing the family out of the house because he thinks it’s a nice thing for Grace to see the world and on god if any of his siblings fight him about it he will stuff their asses into a picnic basket himself because they are GOING

Gets dragged by Klaus into dumb ideas to “give ourselves a CHILDHOOD diego” more than any other member of the family. Which basically means that Diego is the one Klaus grabs to surf a mattress down the staircase and other dumbass ideas

Allison:

Probably ends up redecorating the mansion and completely redoing it to make it more modern and also less the horrible hellscape with taxidermied animals on the walls that it is. Her and Grace squad up to plan everything and then Allison makes everyone help when it comes to things like painting and building all the nice ikea furniture she just bought

Takes parenting classes as sort of extra credit for her custody case for Claire. I feel like eventually she and Patrick genuinely talk to each other, maybe at some kind of joint therapy, and sort of clear the air between them. They might never get back together, but they at least become sort of friends again. Mainly because I like the Patrick I’ve built up for myself in my head tbh

Occasionally attends craft classes with Klaus when she has a spare moment, because he goes to like,, all the local craft classes. She likes to spend the time with him. Is probably the only sibling who willingly attends with Klaus, but others get dragged along as well.

Probably takes up scrapbooking? She wants to have something physical to give to Claire so decides to go through like,, all the camera footage of their childhoods and pick out good images (because goodness knows they didn’t have cute family pictures) and maybe Grace uploads some of her memories to a harddrive with cute shit and they scrapbook together let me have this

on a related note buys a camera and starts trying to catch her siblings doing cute things for her scrapbook with the sort of determined energy of someone who has realized that she’s having to do her scrapbooking from security camera footage because their childhoods were fucked up

(she has a bajillion pictures of herself - thank you paparazzi - but all she has on her siblings is like… what, one of diego’s fighting posters and the two pictures of Vanya from her book and from the newspaper on the fucked up apocalypse concert??)

Klaus:

Genuinely goes to any and all craft classes offered at the community center and random places around town. Usually sort of a disaster, always a disaster when he drags along his siblings, and always proudly brings home his third grader worthy creations that Grace proudly puts on the shelves. He gets better at things the more he goes to them though, so there’s a progression of skill level in his crafts. Allison goes with him when she has time.

Has a knitting circle that he attends that is primarily made of little old ladies who dote on him. Five occasionally goes with but it often conflicts with Five’s other extra curricular activities.

Bakes at home a lot, with Grace’s supervision after some certain incidents that should remain unnamed. Tends to get ‘creative’ with the recipes but now that Grace is present to make sure it won’t be a disaster everyone is more willing to taste whatever comes out. Has, on at least one occasion, insisted on decorating cookies or icing cupcakes or whatever as a ‘family bonding activity.’

Goes with Ben to the movie theater frequently even to the gross horror movies that Klaus hates and Ben absolutely loves. Klaus always insists Diego come to the horror movies so that Klaus has someone physically there for him to hold onto when he’s scared. Five comes sometimes as well, but tends to critique the special effects - especially blood and blood splatter - which makes other people turn around to hush them.

Five:

I genuinely want to say he does gymnastics lessons. Mainly because I feel like he needs to do SOMETHING physical and get rid of his excess energy, and also I think it would be hilarious for him to be tumbling and teleporting and shit at the same time what a wild ride. Absolutely refuses to allow his siblings to come to any competitions or whatever, but they all end up showing up anyway.

Starts learning instruments. Asks Vanya for lessons on the violin so they can play together, it’s very cute. I also wants to say starts learning the piano because someone sent me an ask once about it and it was super valid. And Five can learn both because I say so and he doesn’t go to school he has the free time

Is on first name basis with a bunch of scientists and mathematicians online where they all yell numbers at one another. Probably in a super technical group chat with a bunch of people with actual doctorates who don’t actually know that Five doesn’t have a doctorate. 

Actually you know what just let Five start actually going to college like let him go to the local community college or start taking college classes or something. He can get his GED or whatever. Let this boy get a DEGREE

Goes to art classes, first because drawing therapy was something Klaus suggested and he wanted to get his brother off his back. Later because he enjoys it. There’s a life drawing group he frequents - he’s the youngest there and new people always do a double take when he shows up but Five is very meticulous in his art and is actually pretty good. Grace goes with him as well because I say so and they deserve bonding time together

Ben:

I mean he’s kind of dead but let him do things with his siblings as well!!

Like I said earlier, a total movie buff and loves going to see things in theaters. And by movie buff I just mean he sees a lot of movies. Bizarrely into horror movies for how sensitive a kid he always was. He goes to the theater with Klaus for the most part but likes to watch movies with the family as well. Klaus makes him watch every animated movie with him in return for Ben dragging Klaus to watch horror movies.

Probably ends up with a youtube channel?? does movie reviews and game playthroughs whenever Klaus has enough energy to manifest him. Is pretty popular but half his followers are because of the bizarre shit that goes on in the backgrounds of his videos. People figure out Klaus (who is a frequent guest) is The Seance and then Five jumps in to tell them dinner is ready or something and they’re like “wait is that the Seances brother with the portal powers who vanished when he was a teen and still IS a teen” and the fact that ben probably has a username that’s some shit like “bentacles” that klaus set up for him everyone is theorizing that the channel is just. Ghost Ben and Five who are being manifested by the Seance to?? play games? 

well. they’re half right.

it certain doesn’t help the rumor mill when Ben makes sarcastic comments about dying or how he can’t get arrested because he’s legally dead and shit like that.

“Yeah sorry I didn’t post yesterday Klaus’s knitting group ended up getting arrested somehow - I was there and I’m still not sure went down - so that’s why I didn’t manifest”

Vanya:

I mean obviously she plays the violin that’s her job. She also teaches Five how to play the violin when he expresses an interest!! She is very touched by the gesture

Swims to keep fit and is a frequent at the pool. Klaus once bugged her to let him come, but it’s really her thing that she just does by herself when she wants to get out of her own brain. She does promise Klaus that they’ll take a family trip to a water park one day though, which he enthusiastically takes her up on.

Attends a book club that she also half-shares with Ben. Ben doesn’t come with to any of the meetings, but she always buys two copies/borrow two copies from the library so that Ben can read along with them and he and Vanya discuss the books before she even goes to any of the meetings. Probably thought there would be more discussion of the books than complaining about their general lives, but keeps going because she lowkey wants an excuse to keep frequenting the bookstore where this cute girl works.

Her and Five steadily are making their way through all the coffee shops in the city (as well as through their menus) in search of the best cup of coffee. It’s just a fun thing they do together that the other siblings occasionally go with as well whenever they have time. Both Five and Vanya have notebooks where they record their ratings based on a variety of factors. Diego calls them pretentious and Klaus always gets the ones which are barely classified as coffee when he goes with (Five steals sips and makes faces but continues to do so)

Grace:

Frequents art museums and galleries! Supports a lot of beginning and local artists by buying their art and has a lot of rotating paintings and prints in the house depending on her mood. She got rid of pretty much like,, all the old painting that Reggie had up except for a few of her favs which she relocates to her new room that Diego put his foot down on giving her

Goes with Five to his art classes at first because, as a minor, he needed an adult to go with him for nudity reasons (it’s a life drawing class man). Grace didn’t expect to actually draw herself but Five insisted because he felt awkward with her just standing there. She prefers abstract styles herself (so many people at this art class have a crush on Grace you have no idea)

(actually goes with Five to most things he’s beginning for himself for at least the first lesson to sign him up as an adult because Five loathes having to ask his siblings)

Commissions someone to come and paint a portrait of the family that’s for them, where none of them are stiff and they’re all happy. She tips the artist fabulously for it and hangs the new family portrait in the place of honor above the mantle where Five’s portrait used to hang (they all destroyed it as a family bonding activity)

Keeps bees on the roof after one of the kids showed her an article about saving the bees. She can’t get stung and genuinely enjoys hanging out up there where she ALSO started a big garden because I say so and Grace deserves to be surrounded by flowers and bumblebees and happiness don’t @ me

Petition for Hazel and Agnes to go back in time and kidnap/adopt the Hargreeeves siblings

Benefits include:

They can literally just move to a different time period and Reginald will never find them

The world doesn’t end

Everyone calms tf down and becomes birdwatchers or something

Instead of being raised in an absuive mansion with illustrated lessons on how to kill people on the walls, they probably grow up on like a farm with cows and chickens and a goat and no Spikey Murder Dungeon in the basement, like seriously what the everlovin’ crap Reginald

This is more of a problem than a benefit but it’s fantastic for anyone who gets to watch

The absolute hilarity of Hazel accidentally fangirling about Five’s Murder Escapades to a Five who was never recruited by a shadowy time travel agency

Hazel: “wow, it’s such an honor, your work in bukhara was absolutely legendary, I can’t believe—”

Little bebe Five, who has never been to Bukhara: “???????”

Five gets to break the laws of space-time as much as his little nerd heart desires without getting stuck in the literal apocalypse

Five: “I want to time travel”

Hazel, already pulling out his Time Travelin’ Briefcase: “okay, but I’m following along behind you just in case you get stuck sixteen years in the future, discover the world’s ended, and fall in love with a mannequin”

Agnes’s Vegan Donut Shop becomes a family business

They never have to deal with bad customers

Customer: *slightly raises their voice at Agnes*

Diego: *already pulling out his knives*

Allison becomes a Hollywood Starlet in any cinematic era she desires because time travel

Their interests are supported and encouraged by their parents regardless of what they are

Klaus: “I want to learn how to do makeup and wear skirts and also can I borrow your heels”

Agnes, who was unfazed by the whole Time Traveling Assassin thing and certainly doesn’t care about this: *gets out her car keys* “lets go shopping”

Diego, age six: “I want knives”

Hazel, a literal assassin who is fuzzy at best about the whole “raising children” thing and whose murder idol turned out to be a thirteen year old boy: “here’s a butterfly knife now try not to stab your brother”

(He stabs his brother)

The world doesn’t end

Hazel slides Vanya a donut every time someone tries to make her eat oatmeal. It causes a fight about properly balanced diets and good nutritional habits but no one dies

Allison never rumors her daughter because she was raised to respect others’ boundaries and to not abuse her powers

If anyone tries to pull the same “I’m the only one who has ever loved you, you can’t trust your family” crap on Vanya again, her five brothers, Scarily Competent Sister, Literal Assassin Father, and Rolling Pin Wielding Mother time travel to the moment before he says it and beat the living daylights out of him

The Commission isn’t a problem because the second someone touches a hair on Agnes’s head, her overprotective superchildren steal their dad’s briefcase, show up on the Commission’s doorstep, and utterly destroy them.

Vanya flattens them with a violin solo but not before Diego stabs everyone in sight and Five becomes newly confused as to why everyone here pisses themselves when he looks their way

The Handler, Dot, Gloria, the entire office pool, everyone caught in the Ol’ Grenade Incident of ‘19: “crap it’s number five, someone hide the bazookas”

Five, pausing in his quest to beat a man into unconsciousness with nothing but a stapler: “???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????”

They go caroling every Christmas as a family, not because they like it, but because everyone secretly derives pleasure from the pure unadulterated despair that they see in the neighbors’ eyes when the Rofa Family shows up on their doorstep and starts screeching Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer at the tops of their lungs

Yes, they all take Agnes’s last name

The world doesn’t end

It will never stop being funny for me how Ben was first introduced in the series as this brooding dark ghost that’s haunting Klaus but 4 episodes later he’s happily yelling ‘WHEEE!’ in an ice cream truck while holding a popsicle.

Now if you think about it, shouldn’t be surprising when you take into account that his first interaction in the series is him and Klaus trying to decide if they should eat waffles or not.

the Hargreeves + stealing Luther's clothes

Because no-one  else is doing it. You cowards have forced my hand.

- As expected, Klaus started it

- It was movie night, and Klaus was cold

- He snuck upstairs and stole Luther’s turtleneck

- He forced Five to share with him and Allison got pictures

- Shockingly, the next culprit was Diego

- He had gone vigilante-ing in the rain (like an idiot)

- Luther was helping Grace with dinner when Diego walked into the kitchen in one of his t-shirts

- Fearing for his life, he didn’t say anything

- Next up is Ben

- Him and Klaus found out how to keep him corporal for hours at a time

- The downside to that is feeling physical things again

- Like temperature

- Luther walked into the living room to see Ben curled up on the couch with a book and his corduroy jacket

- He wouldn’t say it, but it warmed his heart

- With Allison, it was a commen occurance 

- Even when they were younger, she always traipsed around in his hoodies and sweatshirts

- Vanya was very conspicuous when she did it

- I mean, have you seen Luther and Vanya’s height difference?

- Luther’s just glad she’s comfortable enough with him to do it

- Currently Its the same with Five

- When they were younger though, they swapped clothes all the time

- Grace somehow managed to always mix up their uniforms

- One time, they dyed their hair and pulled a prank on the paparazzi 

- Eventually it becomes a problem when Luther looks in his closet and there’s like, two shirts left

- He awkwardly brings it up at dinner and they all deny involvement 

- The next day his closet was full again

- A week later it was empty again
