“Oh well this explains where I ended up.” Not liking that rody had made him sit back down on the bed but his body hurt too much to really protest against this. “Alright let’s be real you didn’t want to help me so why am I here? you could’ve easily taken me back to my home.” Why would Rody waste his energy on him when he made it clear that the brunette wanted nothing to do with him? The villain couldn’t deny he needed to rest and recover, what had done this to him really took it out of him so he didn’t have much choice in the matter of not taking it easy for a while.
Rody huffed at the question, his gaze already tracing each and every wound that he had patched up the night before. They look alright... That was good at least. “My siblings noticed you first. We were already on the way home. I knew I had the necessary stuff to patch you up here.” He responded quick and easily.
The brunette sat down on the corner of the bed, keeping the distance between them. His eyes were on the floor now as Pino fidgeted in her corner. “You’re in bad shape. I doubt you could take care of yourself, anyway... Even if I don’t want you around,” for safety reasons, “I couldn’t just... leave you like that. I’m not that bad of a person.”

Izuku couldn’t even give a proper response now, his hands coming up to hide his facial features from view with a muffled noise escaping him that was the equivalent of a scream.
“Aw, now you’re hiding your cute face from me; your boyfriend.” How far was he going to push this? Oh, there was no end in sight. It was too fun to tease and Izuku was too cute when he got all red.

“D-don’t you go starting with your suave street charms or anything Rody!” And now the great hero Deku is just digging his hole deeper as he continues to talk.
"Ha! Suave street charms? But that's one of my best qualities!" Good to know that Izuku considered him suave, though.

“ I’m very lucky to have you as a boyfriend Rody..”
Quickly realizing what he had just called rody and felt his face quickly turning red in a matter of seconds. Oh no he said that out loud!
"Ah, there we go."
That's right, just tease your way through the blushing, Rody. "That's the correct word that you should have been using. Good job, hero."

“Not guilt tripping rody, If I was guilt tripping for one I would’ve said something worse. Second have you met me? we literally met while I was out getting groceries with Bakugo and Todoroki, somehow danger and chaos always follows me but i’d like to see them try with doing something to us. I’ll protect you and Pino!”
Blinks.
“...So, I don’t have to ‘throw you under the bus.’ You’ll just protect us anyway. Like the hero you are, eh?”

“Yeah I can handle having my arms in casts yet again and having recovery girl scolding me for being reckless yet again, of course I can handle it rody no big deal.” The thousand yard stare on deku’s face clearly stating otherwise.
"Okay, you can stop trying to guilt trip me, Deku. You're not going to get hurt that badly. I don't think they're going to actually do anything, honestly."

“Wooowwww thanks so much for throwing your friend under the bus rody…”
"Aw, come on now, I don't have any ill intentions! I know you can handle it, hero!"

“Oh yeah great idea rody lets break my already jigsaw like body even more to let the bone vampires drink my bone marrow!”
He gritted his teeth, not being able to argue against how broken Deku's body was.

"Do you want me to deal with them head-on? You're the hero!"

“Hey! It’s true! You can fight these “bone-drinkers” off better than I can, too!”
Rody somewhat pulled away at first, but quickly gave into the hero’s tug on his hand. He didn’t try pulling away once his hand was on the hero’s chest either. It was a good thing that Pino was out of sight.
He did his best to give no reaction to the accusation. He would admit no such thing.
“Don’t look at me like that.” Rody nudged at Deku with the hand that was planted on his chest. He knew that was a dangerous look in the hero’s eyes.

Izuku doesn’t say anything as he approaches Rody and grabs one of his hands before placing it on his chest with a smirk. “You wouldn’t have asked about a tiddy keychain for me if you didn’t want one now would you rody?” raising an eyebrow with a mischievous glint in his eyes like he’s waiting to see what move rody will make now.
(Muse: Izuku midoriya) "Why would you want a little keychain when you can have the real deal right here Rody?"
"Who said that I wanted it?" He quickly retorted.
"It seemed like common sense that you would have one too if blondie had one. I was just checking out what kinda merch you had, alright?"
This person was definitely her. She was alive. The grief he and the rest of the family went through. All these years of raising his siblings on his own. All the trouble he got into because of the jobs he had to take to be able to provide for him and his siblings. All this time...
He had to grow up so fast. He had to be strong for them and was always their shoulder to cry on when they had a hard day. But who was there for Rody?
He wanted to say so many things. He wanted to tell her what he and Roro and Lala have been through. He wanted to tell her how they were doing so much better now. That they were doing amazing in school. That he was following his dreams.
But no words came out. When he tried to speak, only a sob came out. The boy was overwhelmed. All of his stress and worries came crashing down on him all at once, along with the relief and shock of seeing his mother again.
All he could do was nod in response to both of her questions. Unlike her, he couldn't keep it together. Rody was a mess of emotions, standing there as his body didn't really know what to do. At least Pino was functioning just fine, flying full force to Amelia, clinging onto her with her little wings.
X @rody-soul Amelia felt her lip begin to tremble as Kamisha wrapped a wing around her to silently comfort her and hopefully keep it together so that she didn’t fall to pieces out in the open like this. They lied to her, those monsters lied to her and ripped her children away from her, robbed them off their mother and her chance to take care of them like they deserved. “L-look at how big you’ve grown Rody, the last time I saw you was when I left to give birth to Lala. They lied, those backstabbing doctors and Police lied! They said you were all gone and I couldn’t find out anything on what happened to you only to find out the truth years later.” Taking a second to regain composure to quickly wipe the tears from her eyes. Oh if she could Amelia would be raising literal hell right now for what those people put her family through but right now she would let it go. She was just filled with relief and joy that her children were alive. “Are you and your siblings doing ok sweetheart? I’m so sorry I wasn’t there for you and I know I may not have the right to ask this of you now but if you three are willing would you allow your mother to be a part of your life again?”
(Muse: Amelia Soul) (Coming for your feels tonight!) Wait this couldn't be... No this wasn't possible. Was what she had been told all those years ago really a lie? Well only one way to find out, Feeling Kamisha forming to sit on her shoulder to offer warmth and comfort as she approached the brunette. "Excuse me sweetheart your name wouldn't happen to be Rody Soul now would it?"
A stranger asking for his identity was a toss-up. It could be an old organization he worked under looking for trouble, or someone who found out how Rody contributed to defeating Humarise and just wanted to thank him.
Either way, his go-to response was as follows:
“Depends. Who’s asking?”
It was like he ran into a brick wall. His mind didn't know how to comprehend the person standing in front of him. There were so many thoughts but none at the same time as his breath caught in his throat.
Rody’s first thought was that the woman just happened to look eerily similar to his late mother... but that phoenix on her shoulder... No one else had that. There was no mistaking it.
But it couldn’t be her, right? She had passed soon after Lala was born. So she couldn’t possibly be standing in front of him. Was this someone else’s quirk? A sick trick being played on him? Was he finally going crazy after all those late-night shifts at the bar?
“You... I’m dreaming, aren’t I?”
The snarkiness quickly faded away as his heart skipped in a panic. "What do you mean by making it truE-!!!" He yelped as he was grabbed so effortlessly. It was easy to forget how strong Midoriya was with how cute and small he was. This man had literally carried him multiple times and it still managed to surprise him.
"H-Hey-" Rody cleared his throat, staring at the other. This was not the situation he thought he would be in when they entered this closet. Yet, here they were. "Come on, Deku. No need for that. If you want to prove you can lie just as well as I can, then you can just do that! No need to..." He gestured at their positions. "Do... this..."
Pino was quiet. Rody didn't know what to expect from the hero anymore. He waited with bated breath for Deku's response.

Honestly Izuku was a bit offended with the implication that Rody was making, sure he may not be a delinquent like Rody but even he was capable of lying! Ok he wants to make this so called lie believable then he is going to make it believable by not making it into a lie. The greenette was on Rody in a matter of seconds, grabbing him by his jaw with one hand to turn his head to the side while his other hand tugged on the collar of Rody’s shirt enough to expose his neck. Leaning in to leave a noticeable mark on the brunette’s neck even after he would straighten himself out.
He bit his lip in thought as the other pulled away. Since when was the hero such a tease? Rody brought a hand up to rub his neck where it had been marked. He felt his ears get hot with embarrassment. Pino proceeded to let out a jumbled mess of chirps.
"Geez Hero..." He managed to make eye contact. "I know you're daring and all when it comes to hero work but... I wasn't expecting that from you." An amused huff as the brunette fell back into his playful nature.
“Maybe we should change the story that you went for it first. The little nerd has big guts and couldn't contain himself~"

He couldn’t help but laugh at how offended the hero looked. It was the truth though! Rody was way more experienced with lying and being believable. And they were Deku’s friends! How could Izuku possibly lie right to their faces? It was way easier for Rody in this situation.
“Wha-” Out of instinct, Rody leaned back against the wall of the closet, but was unable to escape the hero’s grasp. He could feel his shirt collar being pulled down and it caused the hidden Pino to squawk. “What are you doing Deku- Hey- Hey!” Rody’s hands were gripping onto Deku’s shoulders, but even with all his objections, he didn’t shove the other back at all.

16. Discuss the 7 minute story they should tell the others
“I could untie my tie and... Oh! I could put my hair down and ruffle it up.” Rody was deep into explaining how they could make it look like the two had done ‘what they were supposed to’ in this closet. Just a story wouldn’t suffice; they had to look the part too.
“If they ask us who went for the kiss first, say that I did.” He was in the middle of undoing his tie, letting out a chuckle as they formulated this entertaining lie.
“Obviously I swept you off your feet with my incredible charm, ha.” Tie undone. Check. “I think if we said you went for it first, they would ask you more questions... Those are your friends out there after all, and I’m used to making things up. It’s better for me to do the talking, ya know?”
It was a new day and the brunette and his family were in the middle of eating breakfast. Despite last night's event, the morning was surprisingly relaxing.
Thud.
Rody froze. Looks like he thought too soon. Did that idiot try to get up? Pino was already flying towards the bedroom, Rody following right behind her. He gripped the door handle and burst into the room in a panic. Seeing the situation, he groaned in annoyance.
"Don't you know when you're at your limit?" Rody marched on over without hesitation, helping Izuku get back up on his feet before gently shoving him to sit on the bed. He glared down at him with a serious expression as Pino sat in the corner, wallowing in worry.
"You're all messed up. You need to rest. Don't be stupid."

It had been quite a while since Izuku had actually seen Rody face to face but he still helped from a distance despite being pushed away. like leaving boxes of things at their home with no name of who had given them, protecting his siblings from trouble and teaching them how to fight so they can defend themselves. He had even bailed Rody out of trouble recently when one of those carrying jobs of his went wrong, just like he said it might in the future. thankfully he wasn’t spotted when chasing those people away so that was a silver lining there, he knew that boy wouldn’t be happy if he found out he was doing all this still despite being told that his help wasn’t wanted and to be left out of things.
As for himself however he had run into a problem of his own, having been beaten pretty badly. Blood was everywhere on him and he had left a trail of it behind until he had dragged himself up against a wall, feeling himself slowly lose consciousness. It would be fine Izuku just needed to catch his breath then he could make it back to his place to fix himself up, now passed out against the wall for anyone to find him in this state.
Rody was in his own thoughts, making his way back home after running errands. Roro and Lala came along with him, so it turned into a nice family outing. It was later in the night so thankfully it was peaceful. It was just him, Pino, and his siblings for the most part, an occasional pedestrian walking by them.
He couldn't wait to get home to his siblings, make dinner, and sleep. It felt like such a long day.
The sound of fast footsteps caused him to stop.
“Roro! Lala! Where in the world are you going?” He watched as they ran down the alley they were currently passing. Was there a cat or something? What caught their eye that caused them to run so suddenly? He started to make his way over.
“You two can’t run off like that. You should know bet-” The sound of crying became more audible the closer he got. Pino immediately looked worried as Rody halted.
Why was he here...?
His siblings cried out to their older brother, practically begging him to help the passed out villain, even though he didn’t want to be near him to begin with. Not wanting them to cry, and not wanting the green-haired man to die, Rody sighed.
“Okay... Okay.” He handed over the groceries he was carrying to Roro and Lala, and proceeded to bend down to lift the man up. Rody wasn’t the strongest but like hell he was just going to leave him here in this state.
So much for a relaxing night. Looks like he had some patching up to do.

Rody knew travelers walked down this path often to get to town. And those travelers usually had some valuable items on them. Items that should be in his hands, considering everything went smoothly.
He was keeping a close eye on this new visitor, examining the bags on his person. All he had to do was snatch one and then make do with what he got.
Rody hid further down in the bushes when the stranger spoke out. Time to set his plan into action.

A small pink bird popped out of the bushes and hovered at eye level with the adventurer. She was a safe distance away just in case the sword was brought out.

Izuku was getting used to traveling on his own as his start of being an adventurer but he was getting better with it, got some good practice with his sword skills and he was able to get a few odd jobs done to get some gold. Anything he found that was worth some good money is something he would take with him while exploring places, his bags of supplies and assorted items being a decent weight at the moment as he walked through the area that was said to be on route to the next town. Heard that it was a good place to sell things so he could make a good bit of gold there from selling things that he found and didn’t need. The greenette was making sure he was still on the right path when he heard some rustling and had his hand on the handle of his sword in an instant, ready to defend himself. “Who’s out there show yourself!”
“Uhuh, sure.” Rody wasn’t here for it. He didn’t want to listen.
“No big villains hang around here. Or heroes for that matter. The only people I ever have to worry about are the police, and they haven’t caught on so far. I know how to handle myself.” He really hated this guy mentioning protection and his siblings. Rody’s protected them just fine all these years. Who would attack them when neighbors didn’t even want to talk to them in the first place?
Pino reflected the thought about how secluded his family was, her feathers drooping a bit. What a pathetic thought to have at a time like this. There was a big sigh.
“...Please...I just want to go home... Leave me out of whatever you’re doing...”

“Oh looks like my little hunch was right on the money then your little bird friend is your quirk!” The bird didn’t even stir once after knocking Rody out until the brunette came around so he wasn’t sure if the hunch was correct until now. “That’s adorable they’re so tiny and cute.” Carefully picking up the small comfy cage he had Pino inside and brought it over to Rody, placing it on the table within arms length of them. “There we go now you can see I didn’t harm you or your little friend here. I don’t even know what’s in the case there for starters, didn’t look inside it yet so I don’t know if it’s anything I want sweetheart. Second I have no intentions of harming you at all, I heard from word of mouth that you’re a carrier of sorts. An interesting and risky profession it is, even I can admit to that as a villain. Now circling around to what it is that I want, I want to propose something to you.” Moving a little closer to the brunette and gave him a reassuring smile, having his hands visible the entire time he was speaking to show that he really had no intentions of harming him. “I do apologize for tying you up but couldn’t have you running away so soon can I? What I want is to offer you something, you’re doing this to care for family right? Well my offer is this, I can offer you and the ones your caring for protection and security and in exchange I get people to share this place with. Having this mansion all to myself is a lot for just one person minus the help i’ll be hiring.”
(Shulaflare) After some time had passes Serena had decided that being at UA had nothing left to offer her, she had learned to control her quirk yes but now she was certain that the hero path wasn't for her. Wanting a fresh start she was able to secure herself a nice little place in Otheon to build up a new life, doing a few odd jobs herself to save up money for emergencies. Right now Serena was simply exploring the area to see what there was to do when she was suddenly hit in the face by a bird? It was a pink one too with a little blue headband on their face, carefully cupping them in her hands. "Oh are you ok there little one?" doing her best to check them for injuries.
Although the check-up was appreciated, the bird hopped up and down in her hands a few times before taking flight, chirping loudly the entire time. Almost like it was trying to get someone’s attention.
A man with a ponytail suddenly rounded the corner, in an obvious hurry. “Pino! We gotta go, buddy!” Rody made eye contact with the lady for a brief moment. He definitely didn’t recognize her, and could tell in an instant that she wasn’t from around here.
“Excuse me, ma’am! Apologies about my friend here!” He shouted out while sprinting past, motioning Pino to quickly follow his footsteps.
“Deku...”
Rody finally let go of the pink bird, letting her hover nearby. He proceeded to wrap his arms around Izuku for a comforting hug, holding him close and tight as his heart pounded against his chest. Now was the time for some heartfelt honesty it seemed. Something that Rody still wasn’t completely used to.
“...Because love is risky. But it’s a risk most are willing to take since love makes life worthwhile..” He was embarrassed to even say such things but he couldn’t let this be a one sided conversation.
“I’m not worried about you making me upset at all.. You’re incredibly thoughtful and respectful. You always mean well.” One of Rody’s hands moved up, running it through the back of Deku’s hair. “You’re okay. We’re okay.”

Yet the thought of it was making his heart go faster and a tinge of pink come to his face. Taking the plunge and just going for it the greenette quickly placed his hands into Rody’s to hold them.
Hearing his full name come out of his mouth sent chills down his spine. The fact he was this close wasn’t helping the case either. All he could do was bite his tongue as the man continued, diving into his private life and bringing up his parents... it was making him angry.
“Of course it’s fair! Even if I’m a carrier I-!” Wait. Waitwaitwait. Recognized where we are? Rody’s focus finally left the green eyes in front of him, glancing around the room. Where would he possibly be that he would recognize-
“You’re kidding. And you had the nerve to buy this place? Out of all places?!” He felt sick; he just wanted to go back home to his brother and sister.

He pieced together his quirk that quickly? Rody was immediately unsettled by this man’s presence and glared as he went to pick up the cage Pino was locked in. He examined Pino once she was placed on the table to make sure what he said was true. There was a sigh of relief.
Rody decided to let the villain go about his spiel before responding. It was unnerving how this guy found out about him and what he does and why. When he came closer, Rody would noticeably back away as much as one could while tied to a chair. He didn’t care if Pino and him were unharmed; he didn’t care if his hands were up the whole time; he didn’t trust him.
“For starters,” Rody spoke up, mimicking the stranger. “Cut it out with the sweetheart. Secondly, why in the hell would I accept that offer? My family and I have been doing just fine on our own, thank you very much. I don’t need some guy who tied me up’s help.” This was not someone who Rody would want to get involved with. This seemed far more treacherous than his current job.

Yes, she was very happy, so in turn, he was very happy, which only embarrassed him further.
A small nod was given in response to his first question. Rody didn't expect Deku to apologize, and hearing the line that followed only made him chuckle. "Better knowledge? Of this? Never." The only people he hung around with back home were his siblings and his boss. He was slowly making friends there finally, but no one was as close to him as Deku was.
“I don’t even have better knowledge of this. Looks like we’re the same in this department.”

Coming to a new place to set up operations wasn't always easy but for Izuku he made it work, he was even able to get himself a cool mansion with all the money he got from doing the villain work he did! Not sure why nobody wanted the place but he wouldn't look a gift like this in the mouth. Right now however he was busy with things, looking back to the case then to the brunette he had tied up in a chair. Word of mouth was he seemed to be carrier of sorts so that may be useful for him, the job of a carrier being pretty good but also dangerous so he was curious to learn more about this stranger. "Rise and Shine sweetheart~" Waiting patiently for the other to come around so that questions could begin.
The voice reached his unconscious mind, and a quiet rattling began somewhere in the room. He opened his eyes slowly, being incredibly groggy from being out cold for who knows how long. Rody lifted his head up, noticing the green-haired stranger in front of him. He squinted at them in confusion.
Who...?

Now he was really awake. He glanced down, fighting against the rope a bit as he took in the situation. Shit.
Did the job go awry? If this guy knocked him out and brought him here, he must be dangerous right? Nonono- this wasn't good. His brother and sister needed him. He couldn't die- Oh, way to think of the worst case scenario, Rody.
The brunette was no longer squirming in the ropes, he remained still and gritted his teeth, glaring at the kidnapper. He was scared as all hell, but he had to put on a brave face and figure a way out of this.
Even if Rody looked serious, he could hear chirping and rattling echo throughout the room now. Great, this guy locked up Pino too. Rody couldn't even try to attack if he wanted to.
"...What do you want from me? If you want the case, you can take it and then let me go. An easy compromise... right? We both get what we want."

Pino came bursting out of Rody's coat pocket, chirping all kinds of nonsense as she flew around in circles. Happy sounding nonsense. After her brief celebration, she was heading straight for Deku. Rody grabbed the bird in a panic, knowing what would have happened if he allowed her to keep flying.
"Ah- um- sorry she-" Words were suddenly hard, especially now that Pino gave away how Rody was feeling in that moment.
Rody let out a sigh to try and ease his nerves. He then leaned down and rested his forehead on Deku's shoulder in defeat, partially hiding from embarrassment. "You have no idea how many times I had to keep Pino out of your sight. She could have given me away at any moment..." He mumbled out while holding said bird in his hands.

Oh he actually did it, Izuku feeling his heart pound in his chest now. Alright Izuku you can do this you’ve held hands with people before this isn’t any different!
